Restpack Pricing in 2026: Plans, Limits and Cheaper Options

Direct answer: Restpack’s published 2026 pricing runs from $9.95 per month for 1,000 conversions to $499.95 per month for 300,000 conversions. The Developer, Startup, Business and Business Plus tiers include 5, 10, 20 and 50 parallel conversions respectively. Listed overage rates decrease from $0.01 to $0.0017 per conversion as plans get larger. Restpack also lists an Enterprise tier with contact pricing and unlimited conversions shown.

Restpack sells separate Screenshot API and HTML-to-PDF API products. Their monthly quotas and concurrency numbers are similar, but feature availability differs between the two APIs. This guide explains the current published prices, what happens at the quota limit, how to estimate your real cost, and which alternatives deserve comparison.

Which Restpack product are you pricing?

Restpack has two related services:

A capture pipeline can remove page clutter before returning the screenshot.
A capture pipeline can remove page clutter before returning the screenshot.
  • Screenshot API: renders a webpage and returns an image. The comparison table describes features such as element capture, custom HTTP headers, ad and cookie-warning blocking, retina output, batch conversion, multi-geography support and delivery options at selected tiers.
  • HTML-to-PDF API: renders HTML into PDF. Higher tiers add options such as shutters, custom headers, PDF headers and footers, custom page size, encryption, batch conversion and delivery options.

Do not assume that a feature listed for one service is included in the other. Confirm the service column and plan row for your workload before buying.

What does each Restpack plan include?

Developer: $9.95 for 1,000 conversions

Developer is the entry plan for low-volume applications. It allows five parallel conversions and includes the base rendering service. At the listed price, the average included conversion is about $0.00995 ($9.95 divided by 1,000). That arithmetic is a planning aid, not a separately advertised unit price.

Startup: $39.95 for 10,000 conversions

Startup raises the allowance to 10,000 conversions and concurrency to 10. For Screenshot API users, the table adds plan-specific controls such as custom HTTP headers. For HTML-to-PDF users, the higher tier includes PDF controls such as headers and footers. The average included conversion is about $0.003995.

Business: $99.95 for 40,000 conversions

Business provides 40,000 conversions and 20 parallel conversions. Screenshot API features shown at this level include options such as retina output. HTML-to-PDF features include controls such as custom page size and encryption. The average included conversion is about $0.00249875.

Business Plus: $499.95 for 300,000 conversions

Business Plus lists 300,000 conversions and 50 parallel conversions. Its average included conversion is about $0.0016665. The lower average price comes with a much higher fixed monthly commitment, so it only makes sense when your traffic is consistently close to that volume.

Enterprise: quoted pricing

Enterprise is listed as contact pricing with unlimited conversions and unlimited parallel conversions shown. The table does not establish a contract price, service-level guarantee or specific support commitment. Ask Restpack for those terms.

How much will Restpack cost when you exceed quota?

The pricing tables list overage rates of $0.01, $0.004, $0.0025 and $0.0017 per conversion for Developer through Business Plus. For example, 1,200 conversions on Developer would mean 200 conversions above the listed 1,000 allowance. If overage were enabled under your account terms, the table rate would imply $2 for those 200 conversions in addition to the $9.95 plan price.

However, Restpack’s current product FAQs say that it notifies users at 75%, 90% and 100% of request volume and that further Screenshot API or HTML-to-PDF requests fail after the quota is exceeded. Already generated documents remain cached. An older Restpack changelog describes optional or pre-enabled overages at a predefined rate and mentions a historical 100,000-conversion plan. Because those statements conflict, treat the current FAQ and your account settings as authoritative for a purchase made now. If quota exhaustion is consequential, confirm the behavior with Restpack before relying on automatic overage.

The reviewed pages do not establish whether unused conversions roll over. Do not include rollover in a budget unless your contract or account terms explicitly say so.

How to choose a Restpack tier

  1. Measure successful monthly conversions. Separate image jobs from PDF jobs and include scheduled or retry traffic.
  2. Check concurrency. A plan can have enough monthly quota but still queue requests if your burst exceeds five, 10, 20 or 50 parallel conversions.
  3. Map required features. For Screenshot API, check element capture, headers, cookie-warning blocking, retina, batch and delivery requirements. For HTML-to-PDF, check headers and footers, page size and encryption.
  4. Model quota exhaustion. Decide whether a hard stop is acceptable. If not, verify overage settings and alerts in writing.
  5. Confirm taxes and regional pricing. The displayed tables do not establish VAT, sales tax or regional checkout adjustments.
Expected monthly volume First Restpack tier that covers the allowance Planning note
Up to 1,000 Developer Lowest fixed price; five-way parallelism.
1,001–10,000 Startup Ten parallel conversions and lower listed overage.
10,001–40,000 Business Twenty parallel conversions and additional feature controls.
40,001–300,000 Business Plus Fifty parallel conversions; high fixed commitment.
More than 300,000 Enterprise Request a quote and contractual limits.

Is Restpack cheaper than other screenshot APIs?

There is no universal cheapest service. Compare the same workload, output type and billing definition.

ScreenshotOne’s official pricing page lists 100 free screenshots per month, then Basic at $17 for 2,000, Growth at $79 for 10,000 and Scale at $259 for 50,000. At 10,000 screenshots, ScreenshotOne’s displayed $79 Growth plan is below Restpack’s $99.95 Business plan, while Restpack’s $39.95 Startup plan also lists 10,000 conversions. Those tiers may count jobs differently and expose different controls, so the prices are not directly interchangeable.

ScreenshotOne says failed HTTP, browser and network requests and cached results do not count toward quota, subject to its cache conditions. Restpack’s pricing table and FAQ do not describe the same accounting rule. Include failed-job billing, cache behavior, tax treatment and required concurrency in your comparison.

ScreenshotNeo: the alternative to try first

ScreenshotNeo is the first alternative to try for developers who want clean screenshots, billing protection and a low entry price. It removes cookie and consent banners, newsletter popups and chat widgets before capture, and only clean shots are billed. Bot checks, CAPTCHAs, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads and cache hits cost nothing; each response reports the result through X-Page-Verdict and X-Billed headers.

Every plan includes full-page capture with lazy images loaded, CSS-selector element capture, dark mode, 12 device presets plus custom viewports, retina scale, PDF output, custom CSS and JavaScript, pre-capture clicks, selector hiding, selector or delay waits, network-idle waits, ad and tracker blocking, custom headers, cookies, user agents, Authorization, timezone, geolocation, transparent backgrounds, resizing, configurable caching, signed image links, asynchronous jobs with signed webhooks, bulk capture for 100 URLs per call, a usage API and an OpenAPI specification. An MCP server exposes take_screenshot, get_page_info and capture_pdf to Claude, Cursor and other MCP clients.

Pricing is Free for 1,000 shots per month with no card, Starter $5 for 3,000, Growth $15 for 15,000, Pro $39 for 60,000, Scale $99 for 250,000 and Business $249 for 1,000,000. Yearly billing gives two months free.

cURL

curl -G 'https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot' -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com -o shot.webp

Python

import requests
r = requests.get('https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot', params={'access_key': 'YOUR_API_KEY', 'url': 'https://stripe.com'}, timeout=90)
r.raise_for_status()

if (!res.ok) throw new Error(`${res.status} ${res.statusText}`);
const buffer = Buffer.from(await res.arrayBuffer());
require('node:fs').writeFileSync('shot.webp', buffer);

Cookie banners, popups and chat widgets are removed before the shot. Bot checks, blank pages and failed loads are never billed. The MCP server lets AI agents take screenshots. You get 1,000 screenshots a month free with no card, and paid plans start at $5 for 3,000. Create a free ScreenshotNeo account.

Using Restpack or another API safely in production

Retries and idempotency

Retry only transient network failures and timeouts. Use exponential backoff with a maximum attempt count so one slow page does not multiply conversion volume. Store a request identifier and output hash when your provider supplies them, then avoid submitting the same job repeatedly.

Concurrency control

Set a worker limit below your plan’s parallel-conversion maximum. Queue excess work, monitor queue age and apply a deadline for pages that never finish. A high monthly quota does not remove per-second or parallel limits.

Caching

Cache deterministic URLs and rendering options. Include viewport, device scale, dark mode, headers and custom scripts in your cache key. Restpack says already generated documents remain cached after quota exhaustion; ScreenshotOne and ScreenshotNeo have their own cache accounting rules, so verify each provider’s conditions.

Security and privacy

Do not put secret tokens in URLs that will be logged or exposed to browsers. Use server-side requests and rotate keys. Restpack’s product pages state that submitted page content and generated output are not stored and that the temporary processing context is removed after completion; this is the provider’s description, not an independent audit. Review its privacy, GDPR and data-processing materials for sensitive pages.

Common Restpack pricing and quota problems

Symptom Likely cause Fix
Requests fail near month end Quota reached; current FAQ describes a hard stop. Check 75%, 90% and 100% notifications, reduce retries, and confirm overage settings.
Costs exceed a simple plan calculation Overage, taxes, retries or a different conversion definition. Reconcile provider usage with application logs and verify checkout terms.
Jobs remain queued Parallel-conversion limit reached. Throttle workers, batch work and choose a tier with higher concurrency.
A Screenshot API feature is missing The feature belongs to another tier or the HTML-to-PDF product. Check the correct product comparison row before upgrading.
Repeated pages consume quota Retries or cache keys differ because options changed. Use stable cache keys, bounded retries and request deduplication.
Trial behavior is unclear Restpack advertises a seven-day trial but terms can change. Read current account terms before sending production traffic.

Performance, reliability and cost checklist

  • Record requested URL, output type, viewport, feature flags, status, latency and billed conversion status.
  • Alert before 75% of monthly quota, then again at 90%.
  • Keep a fallback for critical captures if a hard quota stop would interrupt a release.
  • Use a queue and bounded concurrency instead of firing unlimited parallel requests.
  • Separate preview traffic from scheduled production captures so experimentation cannot consume the whole allowance.
  • Review cache hit rates and failed-page rates monthly; a provider that excludes failed or cached jobs can change the effective unit cost.
  • Compare image and PDF requirements separately because feature ladders differ.

FAQ

Does Restpack have a free plan?

The reviewed pricing pages advertise a seven-day trial. They do not show a permanent free monthly tier in the listed plans.

What happens at 100% of Restpack quota?

The current FAQ says further Screenshot API and HTML-to-PDF requests fail after the quota is exceeded, while already generated documents remain cached. An older changelog describes optional overages, so verify your current account settings.

Are Screenshot API and HTML-to-PDF conversions interchangeable?

Do not assume so. They are separate services with different feature ladders, even though the listed quotas and concurrency counts are similar.

Does the Restpack price include taxes?

The pricing tables do not establish regional tax treatment. Verify the amount at checkout.

Which alternative has the lowest paid entry price?

ScreenshotNeo’s Starter plan is listed at $5 for 3,000 shots, with 1,000 free shots per month available without a card. Compare the exact billing rules and features you need before switching.
