How to Archive an Indian Scholarship Application Status Page as PDF

Save an Indian scholarship application status page as a PDF. This guide uses NSP and explains how to choose the right academic-year route and check the saved file.

To save a scholarship application status page as a PDF, open the official portal, sign in or find the status route for the correct academic year, open the status, then use your browser’s Print command and choose Save as PDF. Check the resulting file to confirm the status and remarks you need are present.

This guide uses India’s National Scholarship Portal (NSP) as its example because the title does not specify a scheme or portal. State, institution, and other scholarship portals may have different routes and controls. The Government Services Portal describes NSP as supporting application, processing, sanction, and disbursal services, including online application-status tracking. Government Services Portal

1. Choose the correct NSP status route

  1. Start from the official NSP student page. Avoid unofficial status lookup pages and links from search results that do not belong to the portal.
  2. Confirm the academic year and whether the application is fresh or renewal. The NSP student page says that from AY 2024–25 onward, students use their OTR ID and password to fill and check fresh and renewal application status. The page separately identifies an application-status route for AY 2022–23 and AY 2023–24. Follow the route for the applicant’s year shown on the official page. NSP student page
  3. Sign in through the official route when required, then open the status view. The portal uses the label “Track Student Application Status.”

Do not enter your OTR credentials on an unofficial site. Keep your password, OTR ID, Aadhaar details, and other private identifiers out of any PDF you plan to share publicly. If a copy must be shared, redact identifiers on a separate copy and retain the original securely.

2. Save the status page as a PDF in Chrome

Desktop: Windows, Linux, or Mac

  1. Wait until the status fields and any visible remarks have finished loading. If the page has expandable details, open the relevant section before printing.
  2. Open Print: press Ctrl+P on Windows or Linux, or Command+P on Mac. You can also use the browser menu’s Print command.
  3. In the print dialog, select Save as PDF as the destination when available.
  4. Review the preview, then save the file to a folder you can find again.

These are Google Chrome instructions. Google Chrome Help documents opening Print with the keyboard shortcut and selecting Save as PDF. The exact dialog and available destination can vary by operating system. Google Chrome Help: Print from Chrome

Android Chrome

  1. Open the status page in Chrome and wait for its content to load.
  2. Tap More → Share → Print.
  3. Choose Save as PDF in the print options, then select a location on your device.

Menu wording can vary with device and Android version. These steps describe Chrome’s documented Android workflow, not every mobile browser.

3. Verify the saved PDF

A PDF records a rendered view of the page at the time you printed it. The official sources reviewed do not promise that every protected status page prints all fields, dates, or remarks, so inspect the file before relying on it.

  • Confirm the academic year and application context are visible.
  • Check that the status text and latest visible remark you need appear in the PDF.
  • Check dates or other context shown on the page, if relevant.
  • Make sure the file opens and the text is legible. Review every page if the print output spans multiple pages.
  • If sharing the PDF, check for private identifiers and make a redacted sharing copy where appropriate.

If important content is missing, reopen the official status view and try again after it has loaded. Follow the portal’s support instructions if the information still does not appear. Do not alter a copy in a way that could misrepresent the status.

4. Keep application status separate from payment status

An application-status PDF documents what the NSP status view displayed; it should not be presented as proof that a scholarship payment was made. NSP directs students to PFMS for tracking scholarship disbursement. Check PFMS for payment progress and keep that separate from the application record. NSP student page

5. Troubleshooting

Problem Likely reason What to do
The status route does not accept the application details or credentials. The selected academic-year route may not match the application, or the portal may require its current sign-in method. Return to the official NSP student page, confirm the year and fresh or renewal context, and use the route shown there. Do not try credentials on third-party lookup pages.
The PDF is blank or missing status fields. The view may not have finished loading, or the print rendering may not include all page content. Reopen the official status view, wait for visible content and remarks, then print and inspect the preview and saved file. If it remains incomplete, follow NSP support guidance.
Remarks or details are absent. Some information may be behind an expandable section or may not be included in the printed rendering. Open the relevant visible section before printing and verify the output. The reviewed official sources do not establish a universal fix for omitted fields.
There is no “Save as PDF” destination. The available print destinations depend on the device and operating system. Check the print destination menu and the system’s available PDF option. On Android Chrome, use More → Share → Print and select Save as PDF.
The saved file is hard to read or split awkwardly. The page layout may not fit the selected paper size or print orientation. Review the preview and available print layout settings, then save another copy and inspect it. Keep the original page view available if the printed layout obscures context.
The PDF shows application progress, but payment has not arrived. Application processing and payment disbursement are distinct tracking stages. Use PFMS for disbursement tracking; do not treat the NSP application-status PDF as payment confirmation.

6. Privacy, reliability, and record keeping

  • Protect account details: never include passwords in a saved or shared record. Treat OTR IDs and other identifiers as private.
  • Preserve context: keep the academic year and the visible status details with the file, so a later reader can understand what it records.
  • Check before relying on it: browser printing captures what was rendered, and the source material does not guarantee complete printing of every portal field.
  • Separate records: keep application status and payment evidence as distinct documents because they represent different stages.

Or skip the browser setup

ScreenshotNeo is a website screenshot API and MCP server for developers. It can return an image or PDF from one request, but a scholarship portal may require a signed-in session. Do not send OTR credentials or private status-page content to an external capture service unless you have confirmed that the workflow is appropriate for that data. For a protected NSP page, the browser’s own Print → Save as PDF flow is the direct option.

For a public page or another URL you are authorized to capture, ScreenshotNeo offers cookie-banner, popup, and chat-widget removal before capture; bot checks, blank pages, and failed loads are never billed; and its MCP server lets AI agents take screenshots. The free plan includes 1,000 screenshots a month with no card, and paid plans start at $5 for 3,000. See the ScreenshotNeo API documentation.
