Best Bing Search Scraper Tools and APIs for 2026

Short answer: Microsoft retired its standalone Bing Search APIs on August 11, 2025. For general Bing result-page extraction in 2026, evaluate managed providers such as SerpApi, DataForSEO, Bright Data and ScrapingBee. Use Bing Webmaster API when you own the site and need its rank, crawl or submission data. Use Grounding with Bing Search in Azure AI Agents when your goal is LLM grounding rather than a general-purpose SERP dataset.

What changed in Bing search access?

Microsoft’s lifecycle notice says: “Bing Search APIs will be retired on August 11, 2025. Any existing instances of Bing Search APIs will be decommissioned completely, and the product will no longer be available to be used or new customer signup.” Microsoft directs LLM-oriented workloads toward Grounding with Bing Search in Azure AI Agents. That service is a grounding path for agent responses; it is not documented as a drop-in replacement for downloading arbitrary Bing result pages.

Keep the product families separate:

  • Grounding with Bing Search: real-time public-web context for Azure AI Agents and generated answers.
  • Bing Webmaster API: data and actions for registered sites, including rank and traffic, links, keywords, crawl information, URL submission and sitemap submission. Its documentation says legacy SOAP and POX APIs retire on August 31, 2026; plan REST migration.
  • Third-party SERP APIs: managed extraction of Bing result pages for arbitrary queries, locations and languages.

Read Microsoft’s Bing Search documentation and Bing Webmaster documentation before designing a migration. Confirm the current page and terms because Microsoft’s product lifecycle and endpoints change.

How to choose a Bing scraper API

There is no evidence in the reviewed sources for a controlled, independent accuracy, uptime or latency ranking. Choose against your workload and run a representative pilot.

A SERP pipeline separates result types before analysis.

Requirement Questions to answer
Result types Do you need organic links only, ads, news, images, featured snippets, related searches or Copilot summaries?
Targeting Can you set country, city, language, device and safe-search context?
Output Is the response structured JSON, raw HTML, Markdown, or all three? Are positions and result types explicit?
Billing Is a charge per request, successful result, page, parsed item or proxy bandwidth? What happens on an error?
Reliability How are CAPTCHA pages, empty pages, timeouts, partial responses and rate limits represented?
Freshness Can you disable caching or set a cache period? Does the provider disclose cached responses?
Compliance Review provider terms, retention, geographic restrictions, permitted use and redistribution rules.

Leading options in 2026

SerpApi

Microsoft Learn documents a SerpApi connector that returns real-time search results including Bing in structured JSON. The documentation describes managed proxies, CAPTCHA handling and parsing; it also states that free plans include 250 searches per month. Treat that quota as a documented figure to recheck on the live plan page, not a permanent guarantee. Confirm the Bing endpoint, result types, location controls, pricing unit and terms before purchase.

DataForSEO

DataForSEO’s Bing guide, updated May 19, 2026, documents a Bing Organic SERP API. Its Advanced results can include organic results, paid snippets, Copilot summaries, related searches and featured snippets. Verify current endpoint fields, language and location parameters, latency, task limits and whether billing is per task, result or another unit.

Bright Data

Bright Data’s provider-authored comparison describes a dedicated Bing Search API with JSON, HTML and Markdown output and geographic coverage. Those capabilities and any price or ranking statements should be verified in Bright Data’s current product documentation. The article is marketing material, not an independent benchmark.

ScrapingBee

ScrapingBee’s January 4, 2026 comparison describes a Bing search API alternative with structured output and JavaScript rendering. Treat its product preference and prices as provider claims. Check the current API reference, quotas, rendering behavior and billing before committing.

Which one should you start with?

For a structured Bing dataset, start a proof of concept with SerpApi or DataForSEO because the reviewed sources provide the clearest Bing-specific documentation. If you need raw HTML, Markdown or broad proxy and rendering controls, also evaluate Bright Data and ScrapingBee. This is a documentation-based shortlist, not a measured winner.

Build a small Bing results collector yourself

A DIY collector can be useful for an internal experiment, but it has to handle changing markup, throttling, consent pages, CAPTCHA challenges and regional variation. Do not assume that downloading an HTML page answers your contractual or legal questions.

1. Define a result schema

Store the query, timestamp, country, language, device context, source URL, HTTP status, parser version and extracted result type. Keep organic, advertisements, news, images, featured snippets and related searches in separate arrays. Preserve the raw response only when your terms and retention policy allow it.

2. Make a request with an explicit user agent

curl -L --compressed \
  -A "serp-research-bot/1.0 (+https://example.com/contact)" \
  "https://www.bing.com/search?q=site%3Aexample.com+analytics" \
  -o bing.html

This request is only a starting point. Bing can return a consent flow, a challenge page, an empty response or a regional variant. A 200 status does not prove that a SERP was returned.

3. Parse defensively in Python

from bs4 import BeautifulSoup
from urllib.parse import quote_plus
import requests

query = "best error monitoring"
url = "https://www.bing.com/search?q=" + quote_plus(query)
headers = {"User-Agent": "serp-research-bot/1.0"}

response = requests.get(url, headers=headers, timeout=30)
response.raise_for_status()
soup = BeautifulSoup(response.text, "html.parser")

results = []
for item in soup.select("li.b_algo"):
    link = item.select_one("h2 a")
    snippet = item.select_one(".b_caption p")
    if link:
        results.append({
            "title": link.get_text(" ", strip=True),
            "url": link.get("href"),
            "snippet": snippet.get_text(" ", strip=True) if snippet else None,
        })

print({"query": query, "results": results})

Selectors are implementation details, not an API contract. Add fixtures for consent pages, challenge pages, no-result pages and markup changes. Never treat a missing li.b_algo as proof that the query has no results.

4. Parse with Node.js

import * as cheerio from "cheerio";

const query = "best error monitoring";
const url = `https://www.bing.com/search?q=${encodeURIComponent(query)}`;
const response = await fetch(url, {
  headers: { "user-agent": "serp-research-bot/1.0" },
});
if (!response.ok) throw new Error(`HTTP ${response.status}`);

const html = await response.text();
const $ = cheerio.load(html);
const results = [];
$("li.b_algo").each((_, el) => {
  const a = $(el).find("h2 a").first();
  if (!a.length) return;
  results.push({
    title: a.text().trim(),
    url: a.attr("href"),
    snippet: $(el).find(".b_caption p").first().text().trim() || null,
  });
});
console.log(JSON.stringify({ query, results }));

5. Add retries without creating a retry storm

Retry connect errors and selected 5xx responses with exponential backoff and jitter. Do not blindly retry CAPTCHA, consent or 4xx responses. Cap attempts, record the final reason and respect provider or site rate controls. Use a queue for volume, concurrency limits per target region and an idempotency key for downstream storage.

Managed API integration checklist

  1. Run 50–100 representative queries across your target countries, languages, devices and query classes.
  2. Record organic, paid, news, image, featured, related and Copilot elements separately.
  3. Compare position stability, missing fields, challenge rates, latency percentiles and partial failures.
  4. Normalize cost as dollars per successful, usable result set for your actual mix.
  5. Test quota exhaustion, invalid locations, malformed queries, timeouts and provider outages.
  6. Confirm whether caching, storing and redistributing result data is permitted.

Common errors and fixes

Symptom Likely cause Fix
HTTP 200 with no organic results Consent, challenge, empty or localized page Classify the page by markers and status; do not save it as a zero-result SERP.
403 or repeated CAPTCHA Rate, IP reputation, automation pattern or restricted region Reduce concurrency, stop retries, use an authorized managed provider and review terms.
Different rankings between runs Location, language, device, personalization or freshness differences Pin those parameters and store them with every response.
Parser suddenly returns empty arrays Markup change Alert on extraction rate, keep HTML fixtures, update selectors and version the parser.
Timeouts at scale Unbounded concurrency or slow rendering Use a queue, deadlines, bounded workers and a provider with explicit timeout behavior.
Unexpected bill Billing per request, task or bandwidth rather than successful set Read the billing definition, set quotas and reconcile provider usage with stored responses.

Performance, reliability and cost

Batching reduces connection overhead, but it can increase blast radius when one task fails. Prefer bounded batches and independent retry records. Cache only when your contract and use case permit it; search freshness and legal terms may prohibit copying or caching in Microsoft’s covered Search API terms. Measure successful usable responses, not only HTTP latency. Track challenge rate, empty-page rate, field completeness, retry count and cost per accepted SERP.

Microsoft’s published Search API legal terms require Internet Search Experience use and include restrictions on copying or caching results, attribution and modification. Those terms apply to the covered Microsoft APIs; they are not a complete legal analysis of every third-party scraping project. For every vendor, review current terms, data retention, redistribution rights and jurisdictional requirements.

Or skip the browser setup

If your workflow also needs a rendered screenshot of a result page or another URL, ScreenshotNeo provides a single GET endpoint. It accepts consent banners before capture and removes more than 60 known consent platforms, newsletter popups and chat widgets; each step can be disabled. Bot checks, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads and cache hits are not billed, and the response identifies the verdict and billing state in X-Page-Verdict and X-Billed headers. Its MCP server provides take_screenshot, get_page_info and capture_pdf for Claude, Cursor and other MCP clients.

Consent and overlay cleanup produces a usable rendered page.

FAQ

Can I replace Bing Search API with Bing Webmaster API?

No. Webmaster API is for registered-site information and submissions, not arbitrary-query SERP extraction.

Is Grounding with Bing Search a SERP API?

It is an Azure AI Agents grounding capability. The reviewed Microsoft notice does not describe it as a general result-page extraction replacement.

What does “best” mean here?

It means the best fit for your result types, geography, output, freshness, reliability, cost model and terms. The dossier contains no independent benchmark.

How should I monitor a scraper?

Alert on challenge pages, empty classifications, extraction completeness, latency, retries, quota use and cost per accepted result set.
