How to Connect Browse AI to Google Sheets and Airtable

Connect a trained Browse AI robot to Google Sheets or Airtable, choose what to sync, map fields, and verify that task runs update your destination.

To connect Browse AI to Google Sheets or Airtable, first make sure your robot has captured data successfully. Open that robot in the Browse AI dashboard, go to Integrate, enable the destination, authorize the account, configure the target and sync fields, then run a task to verify the data arrives. Google Sheets lets you select an existing spreadsheet or create one; Airtable requires selecting a base and mapping extracted fields to columns.

This guide covers both setup paths, how their sync behavior differs, what to check when data is missing, and when another delivery method may fit better.

1. Prepare your robot and destination account

A destination integration forwards data that a robot has already extracted. It does not train the robot or produce records by itself. Before configuring a sync:

  • Confirm the robot is approved or trained and has completed a successful run with the fields you want.
  • Sign in to the destination account you intend to authorize.
  • For an existing Google spreadsheet, make sure that account has Edit access. You can also create a new spreadsheet during setup.
  • For Airtable, use an account permitted to create and modify bases, and have at least one successful robot test run.

If the robot’s captured fields are wrong or empty, fix and rerun the robot before troubleshooting the spreadsheet or base.

2. Connect Browse AI to Google Sheets

  1. In the Browse AI dashboard, open the robot whose data you want to send.
  2. Select its Integrate tab, choose Google Sheets, and enable syncing.
  3. Under the account controls, authorize the Google account that can access the destination.
  4. Select an existing spreadsheet from Google Drive or create a new one. For an existing spreadsheet, verify that the authorized account can edit it.
  5. Choose the data filter: Changed or added data, Only changed data, or Only added data.
  6. Open the robot’s Overview tab and run a task.
  7. Open the selected spreadsheet and check for the robot’s data in a new worksheet tab.

Browse AI documents that task runs and monitoring checks append newly captured data to the Google Sheet. The filter compares the latest extraction with previous runs: a record is changed when its values differ, and added when it was not present before. Sync therefore depends on the robot running, either manually or on its configured monitoring schedule.

Choose the Google Sheets sync filter

Filter Use it when
Changed or added data You want new records and records whose extracted values changed.
Only changed data You want updates to records already seen, without newly added records.
Only added data You want newly seen records and do not need changes to existing records sent.

These settings govern which changed or new data is synced; they do not rewrite existing spreadsheet data. If another robot is connected to the same integrated spreadsheet, Browse AI puts that robot’s information on a fresh worksheet.

3. Connect Browse AI to Airtable

  1. In the dashboard, open the robot and select Integrate.
  2. Choose the Airtable integration and enable syncing.
  3. Select Authorize New Account and complete authorization, or choose an account that is already connected.
  4. Select the Airtable base that should receive the records.
  5. Map each captured robot field to the intended Airtable column. Review the mapping and activate the configuration.
  6. Run the robot task, then open the base and confirm the extracted text appears in the mapped fields.

After setup, Browse AI says data captured by task runs or monitoring checks is automatically updated to Airtable. Keep synced Airtable columns as multiline text fields. Browse AI documents a limit of 100,000 characters per field; changing a synced field to a different type, such as currency, can break the sync.

4. Choose the destination and verify the result

Setup question Google Sheets Airtable
What do you select? An existing spreadsheet or a new spreadsheet A target base
What permission is needed? Edit access to an existing spreadsheet Permission to create and modify bases
What field setup is required? Select the sync filter Map robot fields to columns
What constraint should you watch? Confirm the right worksheet tab Multiline text fields, up to 100,000 characters per field
How do you verify? Run a task and check the new worksheet Run a task and check the mapped Airtable fields

Choose Google Sheets when your destination is a spreadsheet and you want to work with its tabs or formulas. Choose Airtable when you want records in a base and need explicit field-to-column mapping. This is a practical distinction based on the documented setup controls, not a performance comparison.

5. Troubleshoot missing or incorrect data

Symptom Likely cause What to do
No data arrives in either destination The robot has not completed a successful extraction, or its captured fields are empty. Inspect the robot run and confirm it extracted the expected fields. Correct the robot and run it again before investigating the destination.
The Google spreadsheet has no new rows The wrong spreadsheet or worksheet is open, the account lacks Edit access, or the integration was not enabled before the run. Check the selected file and account permissions, look for a new worksheet tab, confirm syncing is enabled, and rerun the task.
A new robot’s data is not on the expected tab Browse AI uses a fresh worksheet for a new robot connected to an already integrated spreadsheet. Inspect the other tabs in the selected spreadsheet.
Some Google Sheets records are missing The chosen filter excludes records that are only added or only changed. Review the selected filter and choose the option matching whether you need new records, changed records, or both.
Airtable sync fails after a schema change A synced field may no longer be a multiline text field. Restore the supported multiline text field type, review the field mapping, and run the task again.
A long Airtable value does not sync as expected The field exceeds the documented 100,000-character limit. Reduce or split the extracted content so each synced field stays within that limit.
Airtable base is unavailable during setup The authorized account may not have permission to create or modify bases. Authorize an account with the required base permissions, then select the target base again.

6. Timing, reliability, and cost considerations

These integrations update when a task runs or a monitoring check executes, so they are not independent schedules that create data without an extraction. The sources do not specify a sync latency, throughput benchmark, or delivery guarantee; plan around the robot’s run frequency and verify important workflows with a task run.

The documented Google Sheets filters compare current extraction values with prior runs, while Airtable relies on valid field mappings and supported field types. Preserve the robot fields and destination schema used by the integration, and recheck the connection after changing either. The cited setup guides do not state a separate charge for these integrations, so consult Browse AI’s current plan details for account-specific costs rather than assuming a price.

7. Other ways to use Browse AI data

If Sheets and Airtable are not the right destination, Browse AI’s integrations collection also lists APIs, webhooks, Zapier, Make.com, and Pabbly Connect. Its overview also describes CSV or JSON downloads. Use these paths when another system needs the extracted records or when the workflow needs custom routing; the configuration and behavior will depend on the selected integration.

8. Or skip the browser setup

If the task is to capture a web page as an image or PDF while keeping the result free of common overlays, ScreenshotNeo is a website screenshot API and MCP server. One GET request returns a PNG, JPEG, WebP, or PDF. Its API accepts cookie and consent banners like a visitor and removes more than 60 known consent platforms, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before capture; each cleanup step can be turned off.

Use the API for screenshots of the target page. This does not replace Browse AI’s extraction-to-spreadsheet workflow: it returns a screenshot or PDF, rather than mapped records in Sheets or Airtable.

curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com -o shot.webp

Python:

import requests

r = requests.get(
    "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot",
    params={"access_key": "YOUR_API_KEY", "url": "https://stripe.com"},
    timeout=90,
)
open("shot.webp", "wb").write(r.content)

Node.js:

const q = new URLSearchParams({ access_key: 'YOUR_API_KEY', url: 'https://stripe.com' });
const res = await fetch(`https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot?${q}`);
if (!res.ok) throw new Error(`ScreenshotNeo request failed: ${res.status}`);
const fs = await import('node:fs/promises');
await fs.writeFile('shot.webp', Buffer.from(await res.arrayBuffer()));

See the ScreenshotNeo API documentation for request options. Bot checks and CAPTCHAs, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits are not billed; response headers report the page verdict and billing status. Its MCP server provides take_screenshot, get_page_info, and capture_pdf for Claude, Cursor, and other MCP clients. The free plan includes 1,000 screenshots a month with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000 screenshots.

FAQ

Can I use one Google spreadsheet for more than one robot?

Yes. Browse AI says a new robot connected to an already integrated spreadsheet gets a fresh worksheet in that spreadsheet.

Does connecting a destination run the robot?

No. Run a task or let a scheduled monitoring check execute to produce captured data for syncing.

What if I need data in a different application?

Check the available Browse AI API, webhook, automation, and export options; the right path depends on the destination and workflow.
