How to Delete Image Templates
Image templates belong to different apps. Use these exact deletion steps for Miro, DocHub, Gleanin, HubSpot, and cloud infrastructure.
First identify the app. “Image template” can mean a Miro custom board template, a DocHub image asset, a Gleanin campaign template, a HubSpot CRM message template, or an infrastructure image template. The delete control, required permissions, and whether deletion is possible differ by product.
Choose the matching workflow
| Product | What you are deleting | Can one item be deleted? | Important condition |
|---|---|---|---|
| Miro | Custom board template | Yes | Usually the owner; admins need the documented plan and Content Admin permissions for shared templates. |
| DocHub | Image template in your image library | Yes | Delete from Devices > Manage Images. |
| Gleanin | Campaign image template | No, according to its help documentation | Hide the template or delete its containing theme. |
| HubSpot | CRM message template | Yes | Private templates can be deleted by their creator or a super admin with a paid seat. |
| IBM/SoftLayer | Cloud virtual-machine image template | API-dependent | This is infrastructure, not a graphic-design asset; the surfaced documentation is older. |
Delete a custom template in Miro
Miro’s documented route is through the template picker’s custom-template area. Open the template gallery, locate the custom template, hover over it, open the three-dot menu, and choose Delete. Miro says deletion is immediate and an Undo notification appears at the bottom of the board. See the Miro Help Center if labels differ in your workspace.
- Open the Miro template gallery.
- Go to Custom Templates.
- Hover over the template you own.
- Open the three-dot context menu.
- Select Delete.
- Use the on-screen Undo notification immediately if you removed the wrong template.
If the Delete command is missing, check ownership. For shared Company or Team templates, Miro documents admin management for Enterprise users with Content Admin permissions. Company-template features also depend on the workspace plan. Ask a workspace administrator to verify the role and plan rather than duplicating the template.
Delete an image template in DocHub
DocHub documents image-template deletion under the device and image-management controls:
- Open Devices.
- Choose Manage Images.
- Find the image template.
- Open its Actions menu.
- Select Delete.
- Choose Yes to confirm, or No to cancel.
DocHub presents this workflow on a feature page, so menu names can vary between account layouts. If you cannot find Manage Images, use the account’s current navigation or contact the workspace administrator.
Hide or remove a campaign template in Gleanin
Gleanin states that an individual image template cannot be deleted. You can hide it through the campaign’s Themes editing flow, or delete the entire theme that contains it.
Hide one image template
Open the campaign’s theme editor and hide the unwanted template. Hiding keeps the containing theme and its other variations available.
Delete the containing theme
- Open the campaign dashboard.
- Open Themes.
- Find the theme containing the image template.
- Click its trash icon.
- Confirm Delete.
Deleting the theme removes the whole group, not only one image variation. Gleanin also requires at least one theme to remain available for use, so keep another theme before removing the current one.
Delete a HubSpot CRM message template
HubSpot’s instructions apply to CRM message templates, which may be what someone means when they say “image template” in a sales workflow.
Delete one template
- Open More > CRM > Message Templates, or open Message Templates directly.
- Hover over the template.
- Choose Actions > Delete.
- Confirm the deletion.
Delete several templates
- Select the checkboxes beside the templates.
- Choose Delete above the table.
- Confirm the bulk deletion.
HubSpot says a private template can be deleted only by its creator or a super admin with a paid seat. If the action is unavailable, check whether the template is private and whether your seat has the required permissions. Consult the HubSpot Knowledge Base for the current interface.
Cloud image templates: a different operation
IBM/SoftLayer documentation uses “image template” for a virtual-machine disk image. That is an infrastructure object, not a design asset. The surfaced material describes calling SoftLayer_Virtual_Guest_Block_Device_Template_Group::deleteObject. Because the documentation is several years old, verify the current API version, authentication method, object identifier, and retention behavior before running a destructive request. Do not apply the Miro, DocHub, or Gleanin steps to a cloud account.
Before you delete: a quick safety checklist
- Confirm the product and the exact object type.
- Check whether other boards, campaigns, or users depend on the template.
- Save the source image or export a copy if the product has no recovery option.
- Verify your role: owner, Content Admin, super admin, or another product-specific permission.
- For grouped assets, determine whether the action removes one template or the entire theme or collection.
- After deletion, reopen the picker or library and confirm the expected item is gone.
Troubleshooting
There is no Delete option
The item may be shared, owned by another user, private, or governed by a plan-specific role. Check the ownership and permissions documented for the product, then ask an administrator.
The item reappears after deletion
Refresh the picker or sign out and back in. You may have deleted a local copy while the shared template remains, or you may be viewing a cached list.
I deleted the wrong item
Miro exposes an immediate Undo notification after deletion. Gleanin and DocHub may not offer equivalent recovery, so use a saved source or administrator backup if available.
I only want to remove one Gleanin variation
Gleanin does not document deletion of a single image template. Hide that template, or remove the entire containing theme only when its other variations are no longer needed.
The menu names do not match
Product navigation changes with account type and plan. Start from the current product help center and search for the exact labels listed above, such as Custom Templates, Manage Images, Themes, or Message Templates.
Or skip the browser setup
If your real goal is to capture a clean copy of a page or template preview, ScreenshotNeo returns a screenshot or PDF from one GET request. It removes cookie banners, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before the shot. Bot checks, blank pages, failed loads, timeouts, and cache hits are not billed, and response headers identify the page verdict and billing result. Its MCP server lets Claude, Cursor, and other MCP clients call take_screenshot, get_page_info, and capture_pdf.
See the ScreenshotNeo API documentation for all options.

FAQ
Can I delete an image template everywhere at once?
Only where the product provides bulk deletion. HubSpot supports selecting multiple message templates; the other documented workflows are individual or theme-level.
Does hiding equal deleting?
No. Hiding removes an item from normal selection while retaining it in the product. Gleanin documents hiding because individual image-template deletion is not supported.
Why does the same phrase produce different instructions?
“Image template” is not a standardized object name. Always identify the application, account type, and whether the asset belongs to a board, image library, campaign theme, CRM, or cloud infrastructure.
