DocRaptor Pricing: How Credits and Plans Work
DocRaptor prices production PDF documents by monthly quota, not credits. Compare plan fees, overages, test usage, hosting charges, and limits.
DocRaptor’s public pricing is based on a monthly quota of production documents, not a named balance of credits. Paid plans include a set number of documents, then charge a per-document overage rate; Free has no overage allowance. Test-mode documents do not count toward the quota. Optional hosted documents can add hosting and download charges.
In this guide, “document” means a generated production document under DocRaptor’s published plan rules. Do not treat a document as a page credit or a file-size credit. Pricing and quotas below were checked on October 3, 2026; verify DocRaptor’s current pricing before budgeting or publishing a quote.
1. DocRaptor plan prices and monthly quotas
The public pricing page lists these monthly plan fees and production-document quotas:
| Plan | Documents per month | Monthly price |
|---|---|---|
| Free | 5 | $0 |
| Basic | 125 | $15 |
| Professional | 325 | $29 |
| Premium | 1,250 | $75 |
| Max | 5,000 | $149 |
| Bronze | 15,000 | $399 |
| Silver | 40,000 | $1,000 |
| Enterprise | Unlimited, as listed | Contact DocRaptor |
These are document quotas per billing month, not a stated allowance of pages or megabytes. The public table also says Free does not include document hosting. See the official pricing page for the current plan details.
2. What happens when you exceed the quota?
On paid plans, additional production documents are billed individually at the plan’s overage rate. DocRaptor says it does not automatically upgrade an account when usage exceeds its quota, and it sends multiple emails as the account approaches and reaches the limit. Free does not permit overages.
| Plan | Overage per additional document |
|---|---|
| Basic | $0.12 |
| Professional | $0.09 |
| Premium | $0.06 |
| Max | $0.03 |
| Bronze | $0.0266 |
| Silver | $0.025 |
| Gold | $0.0225 |
The overage help page lists a Gold rate, while the pricing page reviewed for this article does not list a Gold plan. Do not assume Gold is currently available or infer its monthly fee from the overage rate. Confirm availability and terms with DocRaptor. Heroku accounts are an exception: those plans stop document generation at the monthly quota instead of allowing overages. Read DocRaptor’s overage rules for account-specific details.
Estimate a paid plan’s monthly cost
For a paid plan that permits overages, estimate the monthly charge as:
monthly cost = plan fee + max(0, production documents - included quota) × overage rate
For example, 150 production documents on Basic means 25 documents beyond the 125-document quota. At $0.12 each, the estimate is $15 + (25 × $0.12) = $18 for the month, before any separately applicable hosting charges, taxes, or account-specific terms. This assumes the account is eligible for overages.
When comparing tiers, use your expected monthly volume, base fee, included quota, overage rate, and account platform. A lower overage rate alone does not prove a tier will cost less: the plan fee and usage above the quota both matter.
3. Test documents and Free-plan usage
DocRaptor says every plan permits unlimited test documents. Set the API’s test parameter to true to keep test submissions from counting toward the plan’s production-document limit. Production documents on Free are limited to five per month, with no overage allowance. Test mode is useful for development, but it is distinct from production generation; see the test-document documentation for the parameter behavior.
4. Hosted-document fees
Hosting is an optional API feature for publishing a generated document at an unbranded URL. Its charges are separate from the plan’s production-document quota. The public hosted-document pricing page lists a hosting fee of $0.01 per document per month, metered daily, and five free downloads. The table lists these download rates after the first five downloads:
| Plan | Hosting per document per month | Each download after five free downloads |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0.01 | $0.00 |
| Basic | $0.01 | $0.06 |
| Professional | $0.01 | $0.045 |
| Premium | $0.01 | $0.03 |
| Max | $0.01 | $0.015 |
| Bronze | $0.01 | $0.0133 |
| Silver | $0.01 | $0.0125 |
Check the hosted-document pricing page for current rates. Hosted-document URLs are publicly accessible without authentication by default, according to the API reference. You can set a download limit or expiration time, and manually expire a hosted document. Since downloads after the free allowance can be billable, a download cap can help control usage. Do not treat a public hosted URL as access-controlled.
5. Limits beyond the monthly quota
A plan’s document allowance is only one constraint. DocRaptor’s API limits documentation gives these operational defaults:
| Constraint | Documented limit |
|---|---|
| Synchronous generation time | 1 minute |
| Asynchronous generation time | 10 minutes |
| Simultaneous requests | 30 |
| Hosted-document output size | 100 MB maximum |
DocRaptor says there are no hard limits on page count, document complexity, input size, or output size apart from the hosted-document size limit; generation time, simultaneous requests, and documents per billing period are limited. See the API limits page for current operational rules. These limits are separate from the monthly production quota.
6. How to choose a plan and forecast spend
- Count production documents by billing month. Keep development and production volumes separate because test-mode documents do not count toward the plan quota.
- Pick a likely tier from included quota and base fee. Compare the plan fee with the number of documents included, rather than comparing quotas alone.
- Forecast overages. Estimate how many months may exceed the quota and multiply the excess documents by that plan’s published rate.
- Check whether your account can overage. Free has no overages; Heroku plans stop at quota. Confirm the rule that applies to your account.
- Add hosting separately. If you publish hosted documents, estimate how many documents remain hosted and how many downloads each receives after the five free downloads.
- Check operational capacity. For bursts or slow renders, account for the concurrency and generation-time limits as well as your monthly total.
- Confirm billing terms. DocRaptor’s legal center says paid accounts require a valid credit card, bills monthly in advance, and are described as non-refundable. It says prices can change on 30 days’ notice. Taxes and Enterprise or account-specific terms may affect the actual invoice; review the Legal Center.
7. Troubleshooting quota and billing surprises
| Symptom | Likely cause | What to check or do |
|---|---|---|
| A production request stops after reaching the limit | The account is on Free or uses a Heroku plan, which does not allow overages. | Check the plan and billing platform. Estimate a suitable paid quota or contact DocRaptor about plan options. |
| The invoice is higher than the plan fee | Paid-plan overages or hosted-document hosting and downloads may be billed separately. | Compare production volume with the quota, then review hosted documents and download counts against the relevant rate tables. |
| Test traffic appears to consume production quota | The request may not be using test mode. | Check that the request sets test to true; consult the test-document guide. |
| A hosted document costs more than expected | Hosting is metered separately, and downloads beyond the first five may be chargeable. | Review document hosting duration, download count, and the plan’s rate. Set an expiration or download cap when appropriate. |
| A render times out despite remaining quota | Generation time is an operational limit, independent of monthly usage. | Check whether the job is synchronous or asynchronous and compare its duration with the documented limits. Review the API limits. |
| Requests are delayed or fail during a burst | The account may be reaching its simultaneous-request limit. | Reduce concurrent requests or queue work so the number in flight stays within the documented limit. |
| A hosted output cannot be created at the expected size | Hosted documents have a documented 100 MB maximum output size. | Check the hosted output size and the current hosted-document limits. |
8. ScreenshotNeo: an alternative for website screenshots
If your job is to capture a live webpage as an image or PDF rather than generate documents from your own HTML, try ScreenshotNeo first. It is a website screenshot API and MCP server from Yorker Media. Its pricing is based on screenshot volume: 1,000 shots per month are free with no card, and paid plans start at $5 for 3,000 shots. It is a different workload and billing unit from DocRaptor’s document generation.
One GET request captures a URL. See the ScreenshotNeo API documentation for options and response details.
curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com -o shot.webp
import requests
r = requests.get("https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot", params={"access_key": "YOUR_API_KEY", "url": "https://stripe.com"}, timeout=90)
open("shot.webp", "wb").write(r.content)
const q = new URLSearchParams({ access_key: 'YOUR_API_KEY', url: 'https://stripe.com' });
const res = await fetch(`https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot?${q}`);
ScreenshotNeo removes cookie and consent banners, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before capture. Bot checks, blank pages, failed loads, timeouts, and cache hits are not billed, and response headers report the page verdict and billing status. Its MCP server provides screenshot and PDF tools for AI agents. Plans include 1,000 screenshots monthly free with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000, with the same features on every plan. Sign up for 1,000 free screenshots a month, with no card required.
9. FAQ
Does DocRaptor sell credits?
The public pricing material reviewed here describes monthly document quotas and overage rates, not a named credit balance. Avoid interpreting a quota as pages or file-size units.
Do test documents count toward the Free plan’s five documents?
DocRaptor says test-mode documents do not count toward plan limits when the request uses the test parameter. Free’s five-document allowance applies to production use.
Does exceeding a paid quota automatically move me to a higher plan?
DocRaptor says it does not automatically upgrade accounts when they exceed a quota. Eligible paid plans instead charge for additional documents at the plan’s overage rate.
Are hosted-document URLs private?
No. The API reference says hosted URLs are publicly accessible without authentication by default. Set an expiration or download limit if those controls fit your use case.
Are plan quotas the only limits that can stop generation?
No. Generation time and simultaneous requests are also limited, and hosted output has a size limit. These operational constraints are separate from the monthly quota.
