How to Export or Save ChangeTower Website Change Reports

Download scheduled ChangeTower reports as PDFs or export dated page snapshots. Learn which workflow to use, what formats and retention limits apply, and how to save a visual snapshot.

To save a recurring ChangeTower report, open its delivery in ChangeTower and download the PDF. To export evidence of what one page showed on a particular date, open that page’s snapshot list, filter by date, open the relevant snapshot, and choose an available export format. These are separate workflows: scheduled reports summarize selected monitors over a period, while snapshot exports preserve a page’s dated history.

Choose the right export workflow

Your goal Use this Documented output
File or share a recurring summary covering several monitors Scheduled report delivery PDF
Show what one monitored page displayed on a date Page snapshot history PDF or spreadsheet in the FAQ workflow; PDF or image in the archive feature
Review changes across a span of a page’s history Snapshot history or archive Archive documentation describes PDF or image export

ChangeTower describes formats in different contexts, so do not assume every export screen offers the same menu. Use the format shown for the workflow you are following.

Download a scheduled ChangeTower report

Scheduled reports are period-based summaries across selected monitors. ChangeTower says they include an AI-written executive summary, changes grouped by monitor, and totals for changes, monitors with changes, and all monitors. A delivery covers the period since the previous delivery and can be downloaded as a PDF from within ChangeTower. The feature is listed for Business and Enterprise plans. See ChangeTower’s scheduled reports documentation for current details.

  1. Create or open a scheduled report.
  2. Select the monitors it should cover.
  3. Choose a cadence: daily, selected weekdays, or monthly, then choose a delivery time.
  4. Select the workspace members who should receive the report by email.
  5. When a delivery is available, open it in ChangeTower and use the PDF download option.

ChangeTower keeps deliveries in the app’s history with the covered period, status, and notification count. If you need one particular page state rather than a period summary, use snapshot history instead.

Export a page snapshot or date-filtered history

  1. Open the monitored page’s snapshot list.
  2. Filter the list to the dates you need.
  3. Open the date or snapshot you want to preserve.
  4. Choose the export option shown for that workflow. ChangeTower’s FAQ describes PDF or spreadsheet reports from the snapshot list; its archive feature describes PDF or image export for an individual snapshot or a span of history.

For instructions tied to a specific export screen, consult the ChangeTower FAQ and screenshots and archiving feature page. Preserve the date and page identity with the exported file when you use it as evidence.

Know the history and retention limits

  • Monitoring history starts with the first check. ChangeTower says it cannot provide a back catalogue of page states from before monitoring began.
  • ChangeTower says it stores snapshots on each check, whether or not a page changed.
  • The FAQ lists retention as 30 days on Free and Lite, 60 days on Essential, six months on Business, and policy-configured on Enterprise.
  • Retention periods and plan eligibility can change. Check the current account details or plan terms before depending on a specific retention window.

If you need to prove what a page said, export the relevant dated snapshot while it remains available. An export cannot reconstruct a state that was never captured or has expired from history.

Save a visual snapshot with ScreenshotNeo

For a clean visual capture of a page you can access now, ScreenshotNeo is a website screenshot API and MCP server from Yorker Media. It does not retrieve ChangeTower’s historical snapshots or replace its scheduled reports; it captures the current page state. Its API can return PNG, JPEG, WebP, or PDF. See the ScreenshotNeo API documentation.

curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com -o shot.webp
import requests

r = requests.get(
    "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot",
    params={"access_key": "YOUR_API_KEY", "url": "https://stripe.com"},
    timeout=90,
)
open("shot.webp", "wb").write(r.content)
const q = new URLSearchParams({ access_key: 'YOUR_API_KEY', url: 'https://stripe.com' });
const res = await fetch(`https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot?${q}`);

Replace the example URL with the page you want to capture. Keep the API key private. The Python example saves the response bytes; for production scripts, also check the response status and content type before treating a response as an image.

Or skip the browser setup

ScreenshotNeo takes the screenshot with one API request. Cookie banners are accepted and 60+ known consent platforms, newsletter popups, and chat widgets are removed before the shot; each step can be turned off. Bot checks, blank pages, and failed loads are never billed, and response headers identify the page verdict and billing status. An MCP server lets AI agents use the take_screenshot, get_page_info, and capture_pdf tools. The free plan includes 1,000 screenshots a month with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000. Troubleshooting exports and captures

Problem Likely cause What to do
No scheduled report option Scheduled reports are listed for Business and Enterprise. Check the workspace plan and current ChangeTower plan details.
A page snapshot from before monitoring is missing The archive begins with the first check; there is no pre-monitoring back catalogue. Start monitoring before the next required evidence window.
The expected export format is not listed Formats differ by workflow and screen. For scheduled deliveries, use PDF. For snapshot exports, check the current snapshot or archive export options.
A snapshot from an older date is unavailable The plan’s retention window may have elapsed. Check the plan’s current retention terms and export important snapshots while available.
A ScreenshotNeo capture looks different from an earlier report The API captures the page now, while a ChangeTower report or snapshot records an earlier period or check. Use the dated ChangeTower snapshot when you need historical evidence; use a current capture for present-day appearance.

Reliability, performance, and cost considerations

For recurring team summaries, scheduled reports reduce the need to assemble monitor changes manually, but their availability depends on the eligible ChangeTower plan. For a dated page record, export within the applicable history retention period. Because snapshots are taken on checks, monitoring cadence determines how often the page is recorded; a snapshot cannot establish what happened between checks.

ScreenshotNeo is useful for capturing current appearance or automating visual captures. It supports caching with a chosen TTL, async jobs with signed webhooks, and bulk capture of up to 100 URLs per call. Only clean shots are billed; cache hits, bot checks or CAPTCHAs, blank pages, timeouts, and failed loads cost nothing, with verdict and billing information in response headers. Plans are Free at 1,000 shots/month, Starter $5 for 3,000, Growth $15 for 15,000, Pro $39 for 60,000, Scale $99 for 250,000, and Business $249 for 1,000,000; yearly billing gives two months free. Every feature is on every plan. These captures do not create ChangeTower history.

Frequently asked questions

Can I recover a page state from before I created its monitor?

No. ChangeTower says monitoring history begins with the first check and does not include a back catalogue.

Does a scheduled report contain every snapshot?

It is a period-based digest of changes across selected monitors, not an export of one page’s full snapshot history.

Can ScreenshotNeo export an existing ChangeTower report?

No. ScreenshotNeo captures a webpage’s current rendered state. Use ChangeTower to download its report deliveries and historical snapshots.

Where can I find instructions for downloading screenshots from ChangeTower?

ChangeTower’s Getting Started collection lists a separate article about downloading screenshots for website URLs. Its detailed steps were not available in the reviewed material, so use the help collection or current product interface for that workflow: ChangeTower Getting Started help.
