How to Fix Microsoft Edge Screenshots That Aren’t Working
Fix Edge Screenshot when Web Capture disappeared, Ctrl+Shift+S does nothing, or full-page captures fail—with practical fallbacks.
Short answer: Edge’s screenshot feature is now called Screenshot; it was formerly Web Capture. On Windows or macOS, try the page context menu, Settings and more, or Ctrl+Shift+S. Fix Edge Screenshot in order
- Use the new name. Right-click the page and choose Screenshot. You can also open the three-dot menu and search for Screenshot.
- Try the shortcut. Press Ctrl+Shift+S.
- Check your platform. Microsoft documents Screenshot for Edge 87 and later on Windows and macOS. Android and iOS are unsupported.

edge://extensions, switch extensions off, reload the page, and test again. Re-enable them one at a time to identify conflicts. - Check security and network software. VPNs, proxies, antivirus web shields, unstable connections, or pages that fail to load can prevent a useful capture. Test the URL in another browser or network.
When Screenshot is missing on a work or school computer
Edge exposes this feature through the WebCaptureEnabled policy. When disabled, Screenshot disappears from the context menu, three-dot menu, and shortcut. The Windows policy path is Administrative Templates/Microsoft Edge, with registry value SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Edge\WebCaptureEnabled.
