How to Take a Full-Page Screenshot of a Bengali Website in Chrome
Capture a Bengali webpage from top to bottom with Chrome DevTools, check the saved text and images, and learn what to try when the result looks wrong.
To capture a Bengali website from top to bottom in Chrome, open the page, open DevTools, then choose More options → Capture a full size screenshot. Chrome saves an image of the whole page, including content outside the visible viewport. Inspect the saved file afterward to make sure Bengali characters and images look as expected.
1. Capture the whole page with Chrome DevTools
- Open the Bengali webpage in Chrome and wait for the parts you need to appear. If it is a long or interactive page, scroll through it first so you can see whether important sections load only when they approach the viewport.
- Open DevTools. On Windows, Linux, or ChromeOS, press Ctrl+Shift+I. On macOS, press Command+Option+I. You can also open DevTools from Chrome’s menu. Shortcuts can vary with keyboard layout or browser configuration.
- In DevTools, open More options and select Capture a full size screenshot. Chrome’s documentation says this captures the whole page, including content not currently visible in the viewport. The separate Capture screenshot command captures only the current viewport. Chrome DevTools documentation.
- Choose where to save the image if prompted, then open it and inspect the top, middle, and bottom of the page.
If you cannot find the command, open DevTools’ Command Menu and search for “screenshot”; choose the full-size capture command. Chrome’s menu placement and wording may vary by version.
2. Check that Bengali text rendered correctly
A screenshot records what Chrome rendered on your machine. The capture command does not guarantee that a Bengali font is available or that every site will render its text correctly. Before sharing or relying on the image:
- Check that Bengali characters are present rather than empty boxes or replacement symbols.
- Open the image at a readable zoom and inspect letters with closely spaced marks.
- Compare the image with the page still open in Chrome. If the live page already looks wrong, the screenshot will reflect that rendering.
- Check that the page has finished loading and that important images are visible in the browser before capturing.
There is no special Bengali screenshot setting in the documented Chrome workflow. You do not need to switch keyboards just to capture a page.
3. Understand what the full-size capture includes
The full-size command captures beyond the visible viewport; the ordinary screenshot command is limited to what is currently on screen. This is the key choice when saving a page from top to bottom.
Chrome’s DevTools Protocol also exposes a screenshot method for automation. Page.captureScreenshot returns base64-encoded image data and has a captureBeyondViewport parameter. That route is intended for scripted browser workflows; the DevTools menu is simpler for a one-off capture. See the DevTools Protocol Page.captureScreenshot reference.
A whole-page capture is still an image of the page state Chrome rendered. Dynamic content, very long pages, embedded content, lazy-loaded images, sticky elements, and animations may not appear exactly as expected in every case. Review the output instead of assuming that every page structure behaves identically.
4. Troubleshoot common problems
| Problem | Likely cause | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Only the visible screen was saved | The viewport-only screenshot command was selected. | Repeat the capture and choose Capture a full size screenshot. |
| The command is hard to find | DevTools menu placement or wording differs in your Chrome version. | Open the DevTools Command Menu, search for “screenshot,” and select the full-size option. |
| Bengali characters look like boxes or are missing | The page may not have rendered the expected glyphs in Chrome, or the image may be viewed at a scale that makes details hard to inspect. | Check the live page in Chrome, then open the saved image at a readable zoom. The screenshot feature itself does not provide a Bengali font fix. |
| Images or lower sections are absent | Page content may not have loaded before capture, or the page may load content as you scroll. | Wait for loading to finish, scroll through the page to reveal content, and capture again. Verify the saved result. |
| The output differs from the page after it changes | The screenshot captured one moment in a dynamic page. | Wait until the page reaches the state you need and recapture. For animated or interactive content, decide which state should be preserved first. |
5. Choose a method for repeated captures
For an occasional page, Chrome’s built-in DevTools command is enough; a screenshot extension is not required. If you capture long pages often or need an editing workflow, an extension such as GoFullPage is an optional software alternative. Check its current listing, permissions, and compatibility for your needs; an extension is not guaranteed to work on every page.
For developer automation, the DevTools Protocol is the browser-level route described above. If you need a hosted capture API instead, ScreenshotNeo provides website screenshots and PDFs through one GET request, with options for full-page capture, device viewports, output formats, waiting, and more. See the ScreenshotNeo website and API documentation.
Or skip the browser setup
Use ScreenshotNeo to request a capture without setting up a browser locally. Replace YOUR_API_KEY with your key and save the response as an image:
curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com -o shot.webp
For the Bengali page, replace https://stripe.com with its URL. The same API can be called from Python or Node.js:
import requests
r = requests.get(
"https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot",
params={"access_key": "YOUR_API_KEY", "url": "https://stripe.com"},
timeout=90,
)
open("shot.webp", "wb").write(r.content)
const q = new URLSearchParams({ access_key: 'YOUR_API_KEY', url: 'https://stripe.com' });
const res = await fetch(`https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot?${q}`);
const image = Buffer.from(await res.arrayBuffer());
await import('node:fs/promises').then(fs => fs.writeFile('shot.webp', image));
Replace the sample URL in either example. ScreenshotNeo accepts cookie and consent banners before capture and removes more than 60 known consent platforms, newsletter popups, and chat widgets; each step can be turned off. Bot checks, blank pages, and failed loads are not billed, and response headers report the page verdict and billing status. Its MCP server lets AI agents use screenshot tools. The free plan includes 1,000 screenshots a month with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000 shots. See the ScreenshotNeo docs for request options and response details.

Performance, reliability, and cost notes
- Speed: DevTools avoids installing an extension or writing a script for a one-off capture. Waiting for the page and checking lazy content can take longer than issuing the capture command.
- Reliability: The saved image represents a rendered page state. For important captures, verify the resulting file and repeat after correcting a load or rendering issue.
- Cost: Chrome’s built-in capture has no per-image API charge. An extension or hosted service may have its own terms and pricing; check the current provider details before adopting it for regular use.
- Long pages: Very tall or dynamic pages can produce results that need inspection. The Chrome documentation explains the full-size command but does not promise identical results for every page structure.
FAQ
Can I capture a Bengali page without installing an extension?
Yes. Use Chrome DevTools’ Capture a full size screenshot command.
Does the screenshot translate the Bengali text?
No. It captures the page as rendered; it does not translate the content.
Should I use PNG, JPEG, or WebP?
The documented DevTools menu workflow is the simplest path for a saved capture. If you need a specific format in an automated workflow, consult the screenshot method’s protocol options and choose a format supported by that method.
Can I save the page as a PDF instead?
This guide covers image screenshots. ScreenshotNeo also supports PDF output through its API; its documentation lists the available PDF options.
