How to Take a Full-Page Screenshot of an AMP Page on Android
Use Chrome’s Long screenshot feature to capture an AMP page on Android, or try Android’s scrolling screenshot when Chrome’s option is unavailable.
To take a full-page screenshot of an AMP page on Android, open it in Chrome, tap More > Share > Long screenshot, adjust the crop handles, then tap Confirm. Save the image or share it when prompted. If Chrome does not show Long screenshot, try Android’s built-in scrolling screenshot: press Power + Volume down, then tap Capture more if that control appears. Its availability depends on the device and screen.
Use Chrome’s Long screenshot
- Open the AMP page in Chrome on your Android phone or tablet.
- Tap More beside the address bar, then tap Share….
- Choose Long screenshot.
- Drag the crop handles to include the portion of the page you want. You can capture a long section without necessarily including the entire document.
- Tap Confirm, then save the screenshot or share it with another app.
Chrome’s documented instructions describe screenshots that extend beyond the screen. They do not promise that the option appears in every Chrome build, Android version, AMP presentation, or page context. If the option is missing, use the fallback below if your device offers it.
Try Android’s scrolling screenshot
- Open the page you want to capture.
- Press Power + Volume down to take a screenshot.
- If the screenshot controls show Capture more, tap it.
- Adjust the crop guides to select the content, then save or share the result.
Google documents this feature for Android 12 and later on most screens that allow scrolling. That scope is not a guarantee for every phone, app, browser page, or embedded AMP viewer. If Capture more does not appear, the current screen may not expose a supported scrollable page.
Why an AMP page may behave differently
An AMP document can be served directly, through an AMP Cache, or inside an AMP Viewer in another interface. Cached documents are served through a proxy-based CDN, and a viewer can present AMP content within a larger interface. These are different page contexts; AMP documentation does not guarantee that either screenshot workflow works in every presentation.
If the page is inside another app or viewer, try opening its original page in Chrome, if that option is available, and repeat the Chrome steps. This is a troubleshooting option, not a guaranteed fix. The built-in screenshot controls may be unavailable for a particular page context.
Choose the method that appears on your device
| Method | Where the control appears | Documented scope | Selection flow |
|---|---|---|---|
| Chrome Long screenshot | Chrome More > Share | Chrome page screenshot instructions; availability is not stated for every build or page context | Adjust crop handles, then tap Confirm |
| Android Capture more | Screenshot controls after Power + Volume down | Android 12 and later, on most screens that allow scrolling | Tap Capture more, adjust crop guides, then save or share |
Troubleshooting
Long screenshot is missing from Chrome’s Share menu
Chrome’s help instructions do not say this option is available in every build, Android version, or page context. Check that the page is open in Chrome, then try the Android screenshot controls. The available documentation does not establish a universal setting or flag that enables the option.
Capture more does not appear
Android documents scrolling screenshots for Android 12 and later on most scrollable screens, so support is not universal. Confirm the device is running Android 12 or later and that you are viewing a screen that can scroll. If the control still does not appear, the device or page context may not support capture-more for that screen.
The screenshot stops before the end of the article
In Chrome’s Long screenshot flow, inspect the crop handles and extend the selection to the desired page length before tapping Confirm. In Android’s flow, use Capture more and adjust the crop guides. A full-page result depends on the portion the controls let you select.
The AMP page is embedded in a viewer
An AMP Viewer can place the document inside a larger interface. If possible, open the page in Chrome and try its Share menu. There is no documented guarantee that a screenshot control will work for every viewer.
Or skip the browser setup
For a screenshot you can request from code, ScreenshotNeo accepts a URL and returns an image or PDF. For example, this cURL command saves a WebP screenshot of an AMP URL:
curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://amp.dev/documentation/ -o shot.webp
See the ScreenshotNeo API documentation for request options. The service can remove cookie banners, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before capture. Bot checks, blank pages, and failed loads are never billed. Its MCP server lets AI agents take screenshots. The free plan includes 1,000 screenshots a month with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000.

FAQ
Can I capture only part of a long AMP page?
Yes. Adjust the crop handles or guides to select the length you want before confirming or saving.
Does Android’s Capture more require Android 12?
Google’s documented guidance applies to devices running Android 12 and later, and says the feature works on most screens that allow scrolling.
Will a screenshot include the whole AMP document in every viewer?
That is not guaranteed. AMP pages may appear directly, through a cache, or in a viewer, and the screenshot instructions do not establish compatibility for every presentation.
