How to Take a Full-Page Screenshot in Firefox on Android

Use Android’s Capture more option to save a long screenshot from Firefox, if your device and page support it. If it is missing, Firefox can save the page as a PDF.

Quick answer: Open the webpage in Firefox, press Power + Volume Down, then tap Capture more in Android’s screenshot controls and drag the crop guides to include more of the page. This produces a long screenshot image when the option is available. Google documents scrolling screenshots for Android 12 and newer on most scrollable screens, so the option is not guaranteed for every phone or Firefox page. Google’s Android screenshot instructions describe the steps and limitation.

1. Capture a full-page image with Android

  1. Open the page in Firefox and wait for the part you need to appear.
  2. Press the phone’s Power and Volume Down buttons at the same time. On some phones, you can instead hold Power and tap Screenshot.
  3. When the screenshot preview and controls appear, tap Capture more.
  4. Drag the crop guides down to include the content you want. Adjust the selection if the page has extra material below the relevant section.
  5. Use the on-screen save control. Find the image in your phone’s screenshots collection, Photos app, or Gallery; exact labels vary by Android manufacturer.

The long capture is an image, suitable for sharing or annotating. The built-in feature is Android’s, not a Firefox menu command. Google’s documented scope is Android 12+ and “most screens that allow you to scroll”; phone makers can change control placement and names.

2. If Capture more is missing

First check whether the device runs Android 12 or newer. If it does, try a different scrollable page and take a fresh screenshot after the page has loaded. The option may still be unavailable for that phone or particular page. Follow the phone maker’s screenshot instructions if the button combination or controls differ; Google points users to the manufacturer when standard screenshot steps do not work.

Firefox for Android does not document a built-in full-page screenshot image command equivalent to the desktop Firefox Take Screenshot > Save full page workflow. Do not follow desktop keyboard or right-click directions on a phone; those describe Firefox desktop.

3. Save the page as a PDF instead

If Android cannot capture a scrolling image, Firefox’s documented fallback is to save the webpage as a PDF. A PDF preserves page content for reading or printing, but it is a different output from a PNG or JPEG screenshot.

  1. Open the webpage in Firefox for Android.
  2. Tap the three-dot menu in the toolbar.
  3. Choose Share or open More, depending on the menu/version.
  4. Tap Save as PDF.
  5. Tap Download in the prompt. When the download completes, open it or find it under Firefox’s Downloads.

Mozilla’s Save web pages as PDF guide lists the share-menu flow and Downloads location. Firefox’s redesigned Android menu also places Save as PDF under More; Mozilla says that redesigned menu appears automatically starting with version 141. Menu wording and placement can vary across versions.

4. Choose the right output

Method What you get When to use it Limit
Android Capture more A long screenshot image You need a visual image of the scrolling page Android 12+ and most scrollable screens; availability depends on phone and page
Firefox Save as PDF A downloaded PDF You want the page content in a document for reading or printing It is not a screenshot image

5. Troubleshooting

There is no Capture more button

Confirm Android 12 or later, then try the screenshot on another scrollable screen. The feature is supported on most such screens, not all of them. If controls are different or the key combination fails, use the manufacturer’s support instructions. For a copy of the page rather than an image, use Firefox’s Save as PDF option.

The screenshot contains only the visible area

Capture more was not selected, or it was unavailable for that screen. Take another screenshot and look for the option in the preview controls. If it is absent again, use PDF for a complete saved document.

The page is cut off

Before capture, scroll through the page once so content that loads on scroll has a chance to appear. In Capture more, extend the crop guides as far as the required content. Check the saved image afterward; a page can be longer than the selected crop.

I cannot find the saved file

For screenshots, check Photos or Gallery’s Screenshots album. For a PDF, open Firefox’s three-dot menu and tap Downloads. Android’s app names and storage views vary by device.

I see Firefox desktop instructions, but no matching phone option

Firefox’s desktop full-page screenshot instructions apply to the desktop browser. On Android, use Android’s Capture more feature for an image, or Firefox’s Save as PDF feature for a PDF.

6. Or skip the browser setup

For a repeatable server-side capture of a public webpage, ScreenshotNeo is a website screenshot API and MCP server. One GET request returns an image or PDF; see the API documentation for request options. Example saving a page as WebP:

curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" \
  -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY \
  --data-urlencode url=https://example.com \
  -o shot.webp

ScreenshotNeo can accept cookie/consent banners and remove known consent platforms, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before capture. Bot checks, blank pages, failed loads, timeouts, and cache hits are not billed; response headers report the page verdict and billing status. Its MCP server lets AI agents use screenshot tools. The free plan includes 1,000 screenshots a month with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000 shots.

A PDF and a screenshot image are different formats. If you specifically need an image, use Capture more when it is available, or convert the PDF with a separate tool.

Is Firefox ScreenshotGo a current alternative?

No. Mozilla says ScreenshotGo is no longer supported and will not receive further updates. See Mozilla’s ScreenshotGo support notice.
