How to take a full-page screenshot of a website on Samsung Galaxy

Use Samsung Galaxy’s Scroll Capture to save a long webpage as one image. Follow the steps, find the result in Gallery, and fix common capture problems.

To capture a full webpage on a Samsung Galaxy phone, open the page, press Power and Volume Down together, then tap Scroll Capture in the screenshot toolbar. Tap the Scroll Capture icon again to extend the image, or press and hold it to keep scrolling farther. Tap outside the toolbar to finish. The screenshot is saved to Gallery and may be resized automatically. Samsung’s Scroll Capture instructions describe the feature and steps.

Steps: capture a full webpage

  1. Open the website in your browser and go to the point where the screenshot should begin. Scroll Capture starts from the content visible when you take the initial screenshot; it does not start from the top automatically.
  2. Press the Power (or Side) button and Volume Down together, then release. A screenshot toolbar should appear at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Tap the Scroll Capture icon, usually shown as two downward arrows. The screen scrolls and adds more content to the same image.
  4. Tap the icon again to add another section. On supported versions, press and hold it to keep capturing farther down.
  5. When you have included the desired page content, tap outside the toolbar to finish. Find the saved image in Gallery.

Samsung notes that the amount captured by each scroll can vary with the page, and the resulting image can be resized. The feature is available only when the content can scroll. See Samsung’s screen capture guidance.

Enable the screenshot toolbar

If the toolbar does not appear after taking a regular screenshot, check that it is enabled:

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Tap Advanced features.
  3. Open Screenshots and screen recorder. On some models, the setting may be called Screen capture.
  4. Turn on Show toolbar after capturing.

Menu wording and location can differ by Galaxy model and One UI version. If these labels do not match your phone, search Settings for “screenshot.” Samsung’s toolbar setup steps include an alternate Screen capture label for devices that do not support screen recording.

What to expect from Scroll Capture

  • It captures one continuous image. You can share or review the long screenshot as a single image rather than stitching separate screenshots together.
  • The page must be scrollable. Samsung says Scroll Capture is offered when scrolling is possible. It may not appear on some websites or apps.
  • Capture starts at the current position. Position the page where you want the image to begin before taking the first screenshot.
  • Page layout affects the result. Embedded players, large images, and other page content can affect how much each scroll adds. Inspect the saved image for missing or repeated sections.
  • The image may be scaled down. Samsung says the captured image is automatically resized. Very long screenshots may therefore be less suitable for reading tiny text at full detail.
  • Some screens block capture. Certain apps can restrict screenshots or recording for copyright, privacy, or security reasons. Samsung notes that availability varies by model and software version.

Troubleshooting

Problem Likely cause What to try
No screenshot toolbar appears The toolbar-after-capture setting is off, or the interface differs on this device. Enable Show toolbar after capturing under Settings > Advanced features > Screenshots and screen recorder. Search Settings for “screenshot” if the path differs.
Scroll Capture is missing The visible content may not be scrollable, or that site, app, device, or software version may not offer the option. Confirm the page extends beyond the screen and can scroll. Try an ordinary webpage. If the icon remains absent, the current content may not support Scroll Capture.
The screenshot ends too early Only the initial screen and the sections added by the Scroll Capture taps are included. Before finishing, tap Scroll Capture again or press and hold the icon, if supported, to extend it farther.
The result has a gap, overlap, or unexpected section Page behavior, such as embedded media or large images, can change how each scroll advances. Review the saved image. Try capturing in smaller increments by tapping the icon repeatedly, and start from a stable part of the page.
The saved text looks smaller than expected Samsung may resize the long image automatically. Zoom in to inspect it, or capture a shorter segment if legibility is more important than including the entire page in one image.
Screenshot is blocked The app or screen may restrict capture because of copyright, privacy, or security controls. Try the website in a standard browser if appropriate. A restriction enforced by the app or content owner may not be removable through Scroll Capture.

Or skip the browser setup

If you are a developer who needs a website screenshot from code rather than from the phone screen, ScreenshotNeo is a website screenshot API and MCP server. It returns a PNG, JPEG, WebP, or PDF from one GET request. For a WebP screenshot of a page:

curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com -o shot.webp

See the ScreenshotNeo API documentation for setup and request options. ScreenshotNeo accepts cookie or consent banners like a visitor and removes more than 60 known consent platforms, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before capture; each step can be turned off. Bot checks, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits cost nothing, and response headers report the page verdict and billing status. Its MCP server gives AI agents tools for taking screenshots, getting page information, and capturing PDFs. The free plan includes 1,000 screenshots per month with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000 screenshots.
