How to Take Full-Page Screenshots of Long Product Detail Pages
Capture an entire product page beyond the visible screen. Follow the steps for desktop, iPhone, or Android, and learn when an automated capture is useful.
A full-page screenshot captures webpage content below the visible screen in one image. On desktop, use Firefox’s Save full page command or Chrome DevTools’ Capture a full size screenshot. On iPhone, choose Full Page in the screenshot preview. On Android 12 or later, try Capture more; Chrome for Android also has a Long screenshot option. The exact availability and controls depend on your device and browser.
For a product detail page, open the page you want, wait until it has loaded, and choose a full-page capture command instead of the ordinary screenshot command, which only captures the visible screen. Then inspect the result to make sure the sections you need are included.
Choose a method
| Device or browser | Full-page capture route | Output documented by the source |
|---|---|---|
| Firefox on desktop | Right-click an empty page area, choose Take Screenshot, then Save full page. | Download an image or copy it to the clipboard. |
| Chrome on desktop | Open DevTools Device Mode, open the More options menu, and choose Capture a full size screenshot. | Screenshot file. |
| iPhone | Take a screenshot, open its preview, then tap Full Page. | Save as an image to Photos or save as a PDF to Files. |
| Android 12 or later | Take a screenshot and tap Capture more, if available for that screen. | Screenshot image. |
| Chrome for Android | Open More > Share > Long screenshot, then adjust the crop handles. | Save or share the result. |
These steps follow the platform documentation: Mozilla’s Firefox screenshot guide, Chrome DevTools Device Mode, Apple’s iPhone screenshot guide, Google’s Android screenshot guide, and Chrome for Android’s sharing guide.
Firefox on desktop
- Open the product detail page in Firefox and wait for the page to display the content you want to preserve.
- Right-click an empty area of the page and select Take Screenshot. You can also use Ctrl+Shift+S on Windows or Linux, or Command+Shift+S on macOS.
- Select Save full page in the screenshot controls.
- Choose Download to save the image or Copy to place it on the clipboard. Check the saved image before sharing it.
Firefox’s built-in tool can capture the full page, a visible area, a selected region, or a page part it identifies. For a complete product listing, choose Save full page; selecting the visible part will omit content below the viewport.
Chrome on desktop
- Open the product page in Chrome.
- Open DevTools. For example, use F12 or Ctrl+Shift+I on Windows or Linux, or Command+Option+I on macOS.
- Turn on Device Mode using the device toolbar control in DevTools.
- Open the Device Mode More options menu and choose Capture a full size screenshot.
- Open the resulting image and review its top, middle, and bottom.
Chrome documents this command as capturing the whole page, including content outside the visible viewport. The menu path is specifically the Device Mode workflow; it is different from choosing an ordinary visible-viewport screenshot.
iPhone
- Open the product detail page in Safari.
- Take a screenshot. On an iPhone with Face ID, quickly press and release the Side button and Volume Up together. On a model with a Home button, quickly press and release the Side button and Home button together.
- Open the screenshot preview and tap Full Page.
- Scroll through the preview to inspect the long capture. Crop it if you only need part of the page.
- Use the save controls to save as an image to Photos or save as a PDF to Files.
Apple specifically describes Full Page for content longer than the screen, including an entire webpage in Safari. Interface details can vary with iOS version. For Firefox on iOS, Mozilla’s guide documents a route ending in Done and Save as PDF; see Mozilla’s Firefox for iOS instructions.
Android
System scrolling screenshot
- Open the product page or screen you want to capture.
- Press Power and Volume Down together.
- If the screenshot preview offers Capture more, tap it.
- Adjust the crop guides to include the desired content, then save or share the screenshot.
Google documents this system route for Android 12 and later on most screens that allow scrolling. It is not available on every device or screen. If the option does not appear, consult your phone maker’s instructions or try the Chrome route below.
Chrome for Android Long screenshot
- Open the page in Chrome for Android.
- Tap More next to the address bar, then Share.
- Choose Long screenshot.
- Drag the crop handles to set how much of the page to include, then confirm. Save or share the result.
How to capture an individual product page reliably
- Open the exact page. If the product requires a variant, region, or other selection, make that choice before capture.
- Let the content settle. Wait until the visible product details and images have appeared. If you capture too early, the result may not reflect the state you intended to document.
- Use the full-page command. Confirm that you selected the full-page or scrolling option, not the visible-screen option.
- Inspect the whole result. Review the beginning, middle, and end. Check that the intended description, specifications, and other relevant sections appear.
- Save in the format you need. Firefox desktop documents image download or clipboard copy; iPhone documents image and PDF save options. Choose the output route available on your platform.
There is no single universal method across devices. Choose based on where you are viewing the page and whether you need an image, clipboard copy, or PDF.
Common problems and fixes
| Problem | Likely cause | What to try |
|---|---|---|
| The capture shows only the current screen. | You used the ordinary screenshot command or chose the visible-area option. | Repeat with Firefox Save full page, Chrome DevTools Capture a full size screenshot, iPhone Full Page, or an Android scrolling option. |
| Full Page does not appear on iPhone. | The capture flow or page is not offering that option. | Take the screenshot while the webpage is open in Safari, then inspect the preview controls. Check Apple’s instructions for your iOS version. |
| Capture more is missing on Android. | Google scopes the feature to Android 12 and later and most scrollable screens; device support can vary. | Try Chrome’s Long screenshot route or check the phone maker’s screenshot instructions. |
| Chrome’s full-size command is hard to find. | The command is in the Device Mode More options menu. | Open DevTools Device Mode, then open that menu and select Capture a full size screenshot. |
| The result is incomplete or not the intended page state. | The page may not have reached the state you meant to document before capture. | Wait for the content you need to appear, capture again, and inspect the saved result from top to bottom. |
| The controls on your Android phone differ. | Screenshot behavior and controls can depend on the device. | Use the phone maker’s support instructions; Google explicitly directs users there if the standard screenshot controls do not work. |
When browser capture is not enough
Built-in browser and operating-system controls are a good fit for a one-off capture made by hand. If you need to capture pages repeatedly from code, use a screenshot API. ScreenshotNeo is a website screenshot API and MCP server. Its API accepts a URL and can return a PNG, JPEG, WebP, or PDF. For a product detail page, full-page capture includes lazy images loaded for the capture. See the ScreenshotNeo API documentation for request options and configuration.
Or skip the browser setup
One GET request captures a page. Replace the target URL with the product page you want. Add your access key; do not expose it in public client-side code.
curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com -o shot.webp
import requests
r = requests.get(
"https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot",
params={"access_key": "YOUR_API_KEY", "url": "https://stripe.com"},
timeout=90,
)
open("shot.webp", "wb").write(r.content)
const q = new URLSearchParams({ access_key: 'YOUR_API_KEY', url: 'https://stripe.com' });
const res = await fetch(`https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot?${q}`);
if (!res.ok) throw new Error(`Screenshot request failed: ${res.status}`);
const bytes = new Uint8Array(await res.arrayBuffer());
await import('node:fs/promises').then(fs => fs.writeFile('shot.webp', bytes));
Set the URL to your product detail page and choose the output and capture options you need; see the API docs. ScreenshotNeo accepts cookie or consent banners like a visitor and removes more than 60 known consent platforms, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before capture; each step can be turned off. Bot checks, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits cost nothing, and responses identify page verdict and billing status in headers. Its MCP server gives AI agents tools to take screenshots, get page information, and capture PDFs. The free plan includes 1,000 shots per month with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000 shots.

Performance, reliability, and cost
- Manual capture: The built-in methods above avoid setting up an API for an occasional screenshot. Their steps and output options vary by platform, and you should inspect the result to confirm it contains what you need.
- Automated capture: ScreenshotNeo offers full-page capture with lazy images loaded, caching with a chosen TTL, asynchronous jobs with signed webhooks, and bulk capture of up to 100 URLs per call. These options can help when the same task needs to run repeatedly or across many URLs. Consult its docs for configuration.
- Billing: ScreenshotNeo bills clean shots only. Bot checks and CAPTCHAs, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits cost nothing; responses include
X-Page-VerdictandX-Billedheaders. Free includes 1,000 shots per month without a card. Paid tiers are Starter $5 for 3,000; Growth $15 for 15,000; Pro $39 for 60,000; Scale $99 for 250,000; and Business $249 for 1,000,000. Yearly billing gives two months free. Every feature is on every plan.
