How to Take a Full Webpage Screenshot in Chrome on Android
Capture a long webpage in Chrome for Android with Long screenshot, or use Android’s scrolling screenshot when the Chrome option is missing.
To capture a full webpage in Chrome on Android, open the page, tap More (⋮) > Share > Long screenshot, adjust the crop handles to include the part of the page you need, and tap Confirm. You can then share the image or save it to your device. The exact menu wording or availability can vary by Chrome version and locale. Google Chrome Help: Share pages in Chrome.
Capture a long screenshot from Chrome
- Open the webpage in Chrome on your Android phone or tablet.
- Tap More (⋮) beside the address bar.
- Tap Share, then choose Long screenshot.
- Drag the crop handles to set where the screenshot starts and ends. Extend the selection down the page to capture more content.
- Tap Confirm.
- Choose an app to share the image, or save it to your device if that option is offered.
The crop handles let you choose the captured portion; you do not have to include the entire page if you only need a particular section. If Long screenshot does not appear in Share, try the Android system option below.
Use Android’s scrolling screenshot option
Android’s built-in scrolling capture is an alternative on Android 12 and later, on most screens that support scrolling. Google does not promise it will work on every app, webpage, device, or screen. Google Android Help: Take a screenshot or record your screen.
- Open the webpage you want to capture.
- Take a regular screenshot using your device’s screenshot controls. On many devices, this is Power + Volume Down; button combinations can differ by manufacturer.
- If the screenshot preview offers Capture more, tap it.
- Adjust the crop guidelines to include the page area you need.
- Save the result.
If the shortcut or capture controls differ, check the phone manufacturer’s support instructions. The system feature applies to most scrollable screens, not all of them.
Find the saved screenshot
Google’s guidance describes finding screenshots in Google Photos under Collections > On this device > Screenshots. If your device uses a manufacturer Gallery app instead, look for its Screenshots folder. Save and sharing choices may vary by device and capture route.
Which capture method should you use?
| Method | Try it when | Key limitation |
|---|---|---|
| Chrome: Share > Long screenshot | The Chrome Share menu offers the option and you want to select a long portion of the page. | Availability and menu placement can vary by Chrome version and locale. |
| Android: Capture more | Chrome does not show Long screenshot, or you want to use the device’s built-in scrolling capture. | Android’s documented steps apply to Android 12 and later and most screens that allow scrolling; device controls vary. |
There is no universal compatibility matrix covering every Chrome release, Android device, and webpage. If one method is missing or cannot capture the screen, try the other when available.
Troubleshooting
“Long screenshot” is missing from Chrome’s Share menu
Cause: The option may not be available in that Chrome version, locale, or device configuration. The help instructions do not promise universal availability.
Fix: Try taking a regular Android screenshot and look for Capture more. If it is also missing, check whether the device supports the system feature and consult its manufacturer’s instructions.
“Capture more” does not appear
Cause: The device may not be running Android 12 or later, or the current screen may not support scrolling capture. Android documents availability on most, rather than all, scrollable screens.
Fix: Try Chrome’s Share > Long screenshot route. If neither option is available, the device may not provide a built-in full-page capture for that screen.
The screenshot stops before the end of the page
Cause: The selected crop ends early, or the capture route cannot extend through the current screen’s content.
Fix: Before confirming, drag the crop handles farther down. With Android’s system capture, use Capture more and extend the crop guidelines if they appear.
The screenshot controls do not match these steps
Cause: Button shortcuts and menu labels may differ across manufacturers, Android versions, Chrome versions, and locales.
Fix: Look for the equivalent screenshot or scrolling-capture control, and check the device manufacturer’s support instructions when the standard shortcut does not work.
Or skip the browser setup
