To capture a full website page on an iPad in India, open it in Safari, take a screenshot, tap its preview, choose Full Page, then save the result to Photos as an image or to Files as a PDF. The button shortcut depends on your iPad: press the top button and either volume button on a Face ID model, or the top button and Home button on a model with a Home button.

Take a full-page screenshot in Safari

  1. Open the webpage in Safari and wait for the content you need to appear. If the page loads content as you scroll, scroll through it first so that content has a chance to load.
  2. Take a screenshot. On an iPad with Face ID, quickly press and release the top button and either volume button together. On an iPad with a Home button, quickly press and release the top button and Home button together.
  3. Tap the screenshot preview. If you do not see a full-screen preview, look for the temporary thumbnail near the lower-left corner.
  4. Choose Full Page in the screenshot controls. Review the tall preview; drag through it to inspect more of the page and crop it if necessary.
  5. Tap Done. Choose Save to Photos for an image or Save PDF to Files for a document-style PDF.

Apple documents this full-page flow for an entire webpage in Safari. A standard screenshot captures the visible screen; selecting Full Page in the preview is the step that captures beyond the current viewport. [Apple: Take a screenshot on iPad]

Choose an image or PDF

Choose Where it goes Useful for
Save to Photos Photos Keeping an image or sharing it as a picture
Save PDF to Files Files, in a location you choose Filing, printing, or sharing a document-style capture

The available choices are part of the screenshot save flow. Pick the format based on how you plan to use the capture; Apple does not describe the PDF option as a separate screenshot method.

If the screenshot preview looks different

On iPad, preview behavior is configurable. Open Settings > General > Screen Capture. The Full-Screen Previews setting controls whether the screenshot opens as a full-screen preview or appears as a temporary thumbnail. If you do not see the preview you expected, check this setting and tap the thumbnail when it appears. [Apple Support India: Change the screen capture settings on iPad]

Other ways to start a screenshot

If pressing the buttons is inconvenient, Apple also documents starting a screenshot with Apple Pencil by swiping diagonally up from either lower corner, AssistiveTouch, or Siri. These are alternate ways to initiate the screenshot. Afterward, use the preview and select Full Page for the documented Safari webpage flow. [Apple: Take a screenshot on iPad]

Limits and page-specific behavior

  • Apple’s instructions describe full-page capture for a webpage in Safari. They do not establish the same behavior for every third-party browser or app.
  • Dynamic content, embedded sections, and unusually long pages may behave differently from one site to another. Inspect the preview before saving rather than assuming every element will appear.
  • If the page has not finished loading, wait before capturing. For pages that load images or other content as you scroll, scrolling through the relevant area first may help it appear.

Troubleshooting

Problem Likely cause What to do
The screenshot only shows the visible screen The capture was saved without selecting Full Page. Open the screenshot preview and choose Full Page before saving.
No large preview appears Full-Screen Previews may be off, so the screenshot appears as a thumbnail instead. Tap the thumbnail. To change preview behavior, check Settings > General > Screen Capture.
The button shortcut does not work The shortcut depends on the iPad model, or the buttons may not have been pressed together and released quickly. Use top plus either volume button on Face ID models; use top plus Home on Home-button models. Try an Apple Pencil, AssistiveTouch, or Siri as another screenshot input.
Some page content is missing The page may still be loading, or its dynamic or embedded content may not be included as expected. Wait for the content, scroll through areas that load on demand, capture again, and inspect the full-page preview.
You cannot find the saved file The destination depends on the save option selected. Look in Photos after choosing Save to Photos, or in the Files location selected for Save PDF to Files.
