GoFullPage Extension Not Appearing in Chrome: How to Restore It
Find out whether GoFullPage is hidden, disabled, or missing from Chrome, then follow the right steps to restore it or use another browser.
If GoFullPage is not appearing in Chrome, first check whether its icon is hidden in the Extensions menu. If it is not there, check whether the extension is disabled at chrome://extensions. If it is absent, reinstall it from the official Chrome Web Store listing. GoFullPage reported that its Chrome extension returned to the store on September 10, 2026.
These states need different fixes. A hidden icon does not require reinstalling, and an extension that remains installed but is switched off may only need to be enabled.
1. Check whether the icon is hidden
- In Chrome, click the Extensions button (the puzzle-piece icon) near the right side of the toolbar.
- Find GoFullPage in the menu.
- Click the pin icon beside it to keep GoFullPage visible on the toolbar.
GoFullPage’s FAQ says a downloaded extension may be in this menu rather than directly on the browser bar. Google’s Chrome help also explains how to pin extensions. If GoFullPage is not listed, continue to the next check.
2. Check whether GoFullPage is disabled
- Enter
chrome://extensionsin Chrome’s address bar and press Enter. - Look for the GoFullPage card.
- If it is present and its toggle is off, switch it on.
- Return to a webpage and check whether the extension is available from the toolbar or Extensions menu.
During the temporary removal from the Chrome Web Store, the developer advised users whose extension had been disabled to enable it again if it was still installed. If there is no GoFullPage card on this page, use the reinstall steps below.
3. Reinstall from the official listing if it is absent
- Open the official GoFullPage listing in the Chrome Web Store.
- Confirm the listing is for “GoFullPage – Full Page Screen Capture.” Avoid stale search results, third-party download mirrors, and lookalike extensions.
- Use Chrome’s install control on the listing and follow the prompts.
- After installation, open the Extensions menu and pin GoFullPage if its icon is not already visible.
The GoFullPage site reported the extension’s return to the Chrome Web Store on September 10, 2026. Store listings and availability can change, so use the official site and listing to check current status.
4. If the official listing still does not appear or install
Check the Google account
Make sure Chrome and the Chrome Web Store are using the same Google account. If you use more than one account, account mismatch can make it harder to locate or install an extension as expected.
Check work or school restrictions
An organization administrator may control which extensions can be installed. If Chrome says an extension is blocked or managed, contact your work or school administrator. Google’s guidance on Chrome Web Store problems recommends contacting the administrator when a device is managed.
Check the device type
Google says Chrome extensions cannot be installed on mobile devices. Use a supported desktop Chrome installation for the extension, or choose another browser option below.
5. Use another supported browser if Chrome remains unavailable
GoFullPage’s August 2026 progress report said its extension continued to work in Edge. Its site announced an official Firefox release on September 7, 2026. Check the official browser-store listings and current GoFullPage site for availability before installing. Use the browser’s official store rather than a third-party download site.
What happened to the Chrome extension?
GoFullPage was temporarily removed from the Chrome Web Store in August 2026. Its developer attributed the removal to a copyright-related issue and said the event was not a security issue. Those are the developer’s statements; the sources referenced here do not include Google’s own explanation of its enforcement decision. GoFullPage later reported that the core Chrome extension was available again on September 10, 2026.

Troubleshooting common problems
GoFullPage is missing from the toolbar, but appears in Extensions
Cause: Chrome keeps the extension installed but does not show its icon directly on the toolbar. Fix: Pin it from the Extensions menu.
GoFullPage is not listed at chrome://extensions
Cause: The extension is absent from this Chrome profile, or you are looking at a different profile from the one where it was installed. Fix: Check the active Chrome profile. If it is still absent, install it from the official listing.
The Chrome Web Store cannot find the extension
Cause: You may be using an old search result, a different Google account, or a restricted or managed device. Availability may also change. Fix: Open the official listing directly, verify the account, and ask an administrator about managed-device restrictions.
The install control is unavailable or Chrome says installation is blocked
Cause: An administrator may restrict extension installation, or the device may not support Chrome extensions. Fix: Contact the administrator on a work or school device. On mobile, use a supported desktop browser instead.
The icon is visible but the extension does not work on a page
Cause: The extension may be disabled, the page may need reloading after installation, or the current browser and extension versions may not be compatible. Fix: Confirm it is enabled at chrome://extensions, reload the page, and check the official GoFullPage site for current browser support.
Screenshot a page without restoring a browser extension
If your goal is to capture a webpage rather than specifically use the GoFullPage extension, ScreenshotNeo is a website screenshot API and MCP server. A single GET request can return a PNG, JPEG, WebP, or PDF. The API accepts parameter names used by other screenshot APIs, which can make switching easier. See the ScreenshotNeo API documentation.
cURL
curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com -o shot.webp
Python
import requests
r = requests.get(
"https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot",
params={"access_key": "YOUR_API_KEY", "url": "https://stripe.com"},
timeout=90,
)
r.raise_for_status()
with open("shot.webp", "wb") as f:
f.write(r.content)
Node.js
const q = new URLSearchParams({ access_key: 'YOUR_API_KEY', url: 'https://stripe.com' });
const res = await fetch(`https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot?${q}`);
if (!res.ok) throw new Error(`Screenshot request failed: ${res.status}`);
await Bun.write('shot.webp', res);
Replace YOUR_API_KEY with your API key and change the target URL as needed. The Node.js example uses Bun’s file writer to save the response body.
Or skip the browser setup
ScreenshotNeo removes cookie banners, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before capture. Bot checks, blank pages, and failed loads are never billed, and response headers identify the page verdict and billing status. Its MCP server lets AI agents using Claude, Cursor, or another MCP client take screenshots. The free plan includes 1,000 screenshots a month with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000 screenshots.
curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com -o shot.webp
