How to take Google SERP screenshots for Marathi keywords
Capture Google results for Marathi keywords with the right region, language settings, and research notes so each screenshot has useful context.
To take a Google SERP screenshot for a Marathi keyword, first decide whether you need results for a query written in Marathi, pages written in Marathi, or result titles and snippets translated into Marathi. Set the intended results region and, if useful, a results-language filter; run the exact query; capture the visible results or full page; and save the image with the query and capture context. A screenshot records one search under particular conditions—it is not a permanent or universal ranking result.
Google’s display language and the language of search results are separate: changing menus to Marathi does not force every result to be Marathi. The results-language filter can narrow results, but Google says it is imperfect. Google’s guidance on multilingual searches explains both distinctions.
1. Decide what “Marathi results” means
Before searching, identify the question the screenshot should answer. These are different cases:
- Marathi query: the search phrase is typed in Marathi script. Results can still include pages in other languages.
- Marathi-language pages: you want pages Google identifies as written in Marathi. A results-language filter may help narrow the list, but it is not a guarantee.
- Marathi-translated presentation: Google may show translated result titles or snippets. This documents how results appeared, not necessarily the original page language.
- A combination: the query is in Marathi, the results are filtered by language, and translated titles or snippets may appear.
Write down which case you intend to capture. Otherwise, someone reviewing the image may mistake a Marathi query or translated snippet for proof that the destination page itself is in Marathi.
2. Set the search region and language deliberately
- Open Google Search settings.
- Choose the intended results region. Use the region relevant to the research question, such as the country whose search results you want to inspect.
- If you need to narrow by page language, choose Marathi in the results-language controls or use Google’s results-language filter where available.
- Set the Search display language only if you want Google’s controls and interface in a particular language. Record it separately from the results-language choice.
- Note whether you are signed in and whether personalization may apply. Google says saved settings can persist across browsers when signed in; location and language can also affect local relevance.
Google announced Marathi as an option in a Search results-language toggle. Availability and presentation can vary, so record the controls actually used for your capture. See Google’s announcement about additional Indian-language Search options and the current Search settings page.
3. Search the exact keyword and preserve the query
Enter the keyword exactly as it was researched. Keep the original Marathi spelling and script, including punctuation and spacing. If you used a transliteration or alternate spelling, treat it as a separate query and capture it separately. Do not silently rewrite the query to make the results look more relevant.
Google’s translated result titles and snippets can change how the page reads. If translation is visible, note that in the capture record. Google documents translated results, including Marathi, in its translated results guidance.
4. Capture the page in your browser
Use the screenshot method provided by your current browser and operating system to capture either the visible viewport or a full-page image. Choose based on the evidence needed:
- Visible viewport: useful when the question concerns what a person sees without scrolling. Keep the browser window size consistent when comparing captures.
- Full page: useful when the review needs lower-ranked results or additional page content. A full-page image can be long and may include results that were not initially visible.
Browser menus and full-page capture steps differ by browser version and operating system. Verify the current instructions for your setup rather than relying on a fixed menu sequence. Keep the capture unaltered if it is being used as a research record; if you crop or annotate a working copy, retain the original too.
5. Label the screenshot so another person can interpret it
Save the exact query and capture context in the filename or an adjacent note. For example:
google-marathi-serp-2026-10-04-1430-ist.png
Include these details in the note:
- Exact query, preserving Marathi script and spelling
- Capture date and time, with timezone
- Results region and any results-language filter
- Display language, recorded separately
- Browser, device, and viewport or screen size
- Whether you were signed in, if known
- Whether titles or snippets appeared translated
- Whether the image shows the visible viewport or full page
These details matter because language, country, location, and other search context can affect local relevance. Google describes these factors in its overview of how Search works. Use the screenshot as a dated observation, and repeat the capture under the same settings when you need a comparison.
6. Compare captures consistently
For an SEO report or before-and-after review, keep the comparison conditions as close as possible:
| Control | What to keep consistent or record |
|---|---|
| Query | Exact text, script, spelling, and punctuation |
| Region | Selected results region and any location context |
| Language | Display language and results-language filter as separate settings |
| Device | Same device class, browser, and viewport |
| Personalization | Sign-in state and other known personalization context |
| Time | Capture date, time, and timezone |
| Presentation | Whether translated titles or snippets are shown |
Even with consistent settings, a screenshot is a snapshot. Search results can change over time and may differ by context; do not present one capture as a guaranteed position for every user.
7. Optional: capture with an API
For repeatable captures, automation can request a screenshot of a search URL. Use a URL that contains the exact query and any supported Google search parameters you intend to use, and record those parameters with the capture. Google can change its page, apply redirects or consent flows, and vary results by context, so check that the returned image shows the intended search.
A generic browser automation script can open the search URL and save a screenshot, but the browser setup and full-page options depend on the chosen library and version. For a one-request capture without managing browser installation, ScreenshotNeo accepts a URL and returns an image or PDF. Its API parameter names used by other screenshot APIs also work. The request below captures a Google search URL; it does not guarantee a particular ranking or language mix.
cURL
curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" \
-d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY \
--data-urlencode 'url=https://www.google.com/search?q=%E0%A4%AE%E0%A4%B0%E0%A4%BE%E0%A4%A0%E0%A5%80' \
-o marathi-serp.webp
Python
import requests
search_url = "https://www.google.com/search?q=%E0%A4%AE%E0%A4%B0%E0%A4%BE%E0%A4%A0%E0%A5%80"
r = requests.get(
"https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot",
params={"access_key": "YOUR_API_KEY", "url": search_url},
timeout=90,
)
r.raise_for_status()
with open("marathi-serp.webp", "wb") as image:
image.write(r.content)
Node.js
const searchUrl = 'https://www.google.com/search?q=%E0%A4%AE%E0%A4%B0%E0%A4%BE%E0%A4%A0%E0%A5%80';
const q = new URLSearchParams({
access_key: 'YOUR_API_KEY',
url: searchUrl,
});
const res = await fetch(`https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot?${q}`);
if (!res.ok) throw new Error(`Screenshot request failed: ${res.status}`);
const image = Buffer.from(await res.arrayBuffer());
await import('node:fs/promises').then(fs => fs.writeFile('marathi-serp.webp', image));
Replace the sample query with the exact query under study. Percent-encode non-ASCII query text when constructing a URL. Keep the API key private, and consult the ScreenshotNeo API documentation for request options and response headers.
Or skip the browser setup
ScreenshotNeo captures a page from one GET request. Cookie banners are accepted like a visitor and 60+ known consent platforms, newsletter popups, and chat widgets are removed before the shot; each of those steps can be turned off. Bot checks, blank pages, failed loads, timeouts, and cache hits are not billed, and response headers identify the page verdict and billing status. Its MCP server gives AI agents tools for screenshots, page information, and PDF capture. There are 1,000 screenshots a month free with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000.
curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" \

Troubleshooting
| Symptom | Likely cause | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Results are not all in Marathi | A Marathi query or Marathi display language does not force the result list into Marathi. | Set the results-language filter if appropriate, and label the screenshot as a Marathi query, Marathi-filtered results, or translated presentation. |
| The language filter misses a page | Google says language detection can fail, including on mixed-language pages and some Search features. | Record the filter and inspect the destination page separately if its language matters. |
| Results differ from a colleague’s capture | Region, location, language settings, device, sign-in, personalization, and capture time may differ. | Compare the recorded context and repeat the searches with aligned settings. |
| Titles look translated | Google may translate result titles and snippets into Marathi. | Note translated presentation; do not infer that the destination page itself is Marathi from the snippet alone. |
| Screenshot omits lower results | The capture covers only the visible viewport. | Use a verified full-page method or capture additional scroll positions, and state which method was used. |
| API response is not a usable image | The request may have failed, timed out, or captured an interstitial or other unexpected page. | Check the HTTP response and ScreenshotNeo response headers, inspect the captured result, and confirm the encoded target URL and API key. |
| Automated capture shows a consent or bot page | The search page presented an interstitial or changed its response for the automated request. | Review the capture and verdict headers, retry only where appropriate, and do not treat an interstitial screenshot as SERP evidence. |
Performance, reliability, and cost
For a single research query, a manual browser capture is usually the simplest workflow. For repeated or bulk captures, automation can reduce manual steps, but each image still needs a context record and a visual check. Full-page screenshots can be large; capture only the region needed for the research question, and use consistent dimensions for comparisons.
Search results are time- and context-sensitive, so preserve the original image and notes. If a capture is used in a report, include the date and settings rather than describing the result as a stable rank. ScreenshotNeo offers caching with a selectable TTL, asynchronous jobs with signed webhooks, bulk capture for up to 100 URLs per call, and a usage API; see its documentation for configuration. Its plans are Free: 1,000 shots/month; Starter: $5 for 3,000; Growth: $15 for 15,000; Pro: $39 for 60,000; Scale: $99 for 250,000; Business: $249 for 1,000,000. Yearly billing gives two months free, and every feature is on every plan.
FAQ
Does a Marathi keyword guarantee Marathi search results?
No. The query language and result language are separate. Use a results-language filter when relevant, and document its limitations.
Does changing Google’s display language change the destination pages?
No. It changes the interface language; it does not force results or destination pages to use that language.
Can a translated Marathi snippet prove the source page is Marathi?
No. Google may translate a result title or snippet. Check the destination page if its original language is important.
Is one screenshot enough to establish a ranking?
It establishes what appeared in that capture under its recorded conditions. For comparison, repeat captures with the same query, settings, device, and timing approach.
Should I save the query in Marathi script or transliteration?
Save the exact form searched. If you research both script and transliteration, treat them as separate queries and label each capture.
