How to capture a full-page screenshot of a Hindi webpage with Urlbox

Capture a Hindi webpage from top to bottom with Urlbox, then check lazy-loaded content and Devanagari font rendering in the result.

To capture a complete Hindi webpage with Urlbox, request a PNG with full_page=true and use the default stitch mode. Keep the default pre-capture scroll enabled so lazy-loaded sections have a chance to appear. Then inspect the top, middle, and bottom of the image, paying particular attention to missing content and whether Devanagari glyphs use the intended font.

Urlbox’s web-font guidance is general: it does not make a Hindi- or Devanagari-specific rendering guarantee. Do not assume the font is correct just because the screenshot request succeeded.

1. Make a full-page Urlbox request

Use the public URL of the Hindi page. The conceptual request is:

{
  "url": "https://example.com/hindi-page",
  "format": "png",
  "full_page": true
}

This is an illustrative request shape, not a tested render result. Urlbox requires authentication for API requests, and the URL option requires a publicly accessible page. Use the API workflow and credentials from your Urlbox project; never publish a real secret key in sample code.

Urlbox documents full_page as the option that captures the full scrollable page. PNG is a sensible starting format for a long page because Urlbox recommends it when full-page dimensions may exceed JPEG or WebP limits. See the Urlbox API documentation for current authentication and request details.

Choose the full-page mode

  • stitch is the default full-page mode. It scrolls and combines sections, and is the accuracy-oriented starting point. Urlbox says this process can trigger animations and lazy-loaded elements and freezes fixed or sticky elements during capture.
  • native is an alternative intended to be faster. Urlbox cautions that it may not work well on every site and is optimized for speed over accuracy.

Start with stitch when the page includes delayed content, sticky elements, or animations. Try native only if speed matters and you have checked that its output is complete and correctly joined.

Keep the initial scroll on for lazy-loaded pages

Urlbox scrolls to the bottom by default before capture to trigger lazy-loaded content and measure the final scrollable height. Leave that behavior enabled for the first attempt. Setting skip_scroll=true can save time, but it skips this preparation and can leave sections or images out of the result.

2. Check that the whole Hindi page rendered

  1. Open the PNG at a readable zoom and inspect the top, middle, and bottom. Confirm the last content section appears and that no image or text block is missing.
  2. Check whether the page loads more content as it scrolls. If sections are absent, keep pre-scrolling enabled and adjust the stitch scroll settings below.
  3. Inspect Devanagari text at the top and in later sections. Look for boxes, replacement glyphs, unexpected fallback styles, or differences from the live page.
  4. If consent controls obscure relevant content, consider Urlbox’s click_accept or hide_cookie_banners options only when changing the consent state is appropriate for the purpose of your capture.

Do not infer Hindi font support from a successful HTTP response. Urlbox’s article says web fonts at a URL render with Urlbox as a general statement, but it does not promise that every font host or Hindi font will work. This workflow makes no claim about the output of a particular Hindi URL.

3. Tune waits and scrolling when content is missing

Wait for the page or a specific element

The Urlbox options reference lists loaded as the default wait_until event and a default wait_timeout of 30,000 ms. For pages that populate content after initial load, choose an appropriate wait condition or use wait_for with a selector that exists on the actual page.

Do not guess the selector. Inspect the page DOM and choose a stable element that appears when the content you need is ready. The options reference says a missing wait_for selector does not fail the render unless configured to fail, so a successful response alone does not prove the element appeared.

Adjust stitch behavior

  • Try a smaller scroll_increment if scrolling past a section seems to skip a lazy-loading trigger.
  • Increase scroll_delay if content or animations need more time after each scroll step.
  • Use show_seams=true while debugging to inspect the individual sections and joins in a stitched capture.
  • After diagnosis, turn off seam visualization for the final image if you do not want debugging artifacts.

These controls address different problems: waiting gives late content time to appear, while smaller scroll steps and longer delays help the scroll-and-stitch process trigger content and animations. Change one setting at a time so you can identify which adjustment helped.

4. Diagnose Hindi font problems

If Devanagari characters appear as boxes, use an unexpected typeface, or differ between page sections, first compare the live page with the screenshot. Check whether the intended font actually loads on the source page and whether its font host is accessible to the renderer. Then try a wait condition or selector based on the page’s real loading behavior.

Urlbox documents render options that can control waiting and page styling, but the research for this guide found no Hindi-specific rendering guarantee. A CSS override may be possible where documented and appropriate, but do not treat it as a verified font fix without checking the page and the result.

5. Or skip the browser setup

ScreenshotNeo is a website screenshot API and MCP server. For a one-call capture, use the documented endpoint and replace the target URL. See the ScreenshotNeo API documentation for request options.

curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://example.com/hindi-page -o shot.webp
import requests

r = requests.get(
    "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot",
    params={"access_key": "YOUR_API_KEY", "url": "https://example.com/hindi-page"},
    timeout=90,
)
open("shot.webp", "wb").write(r.content)
const q = new URLSearchParams({
  access_key: 'YOUR_API_KEY',
  url: 'https://example.com/hindi-page'
});
const res = await fetch(`https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot?${q}`);
if (!res.ok) throw new Error(`Screenshot request failed: ${res.status}`);
await Bun.write('shot.webp', res);

ScreenshotNeo removes cookie banners, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before the shot. Bot checks, blank pages, and failed loads are never billed. Its MCP server lets AI agents take screenshots. The free plan includes 1,000 screenshots a month with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000. Sign up for 1,000 free screenshots a month, with no card required.

6. Troubleshooting

Symptom Likely cause What to try
The screenshot ends before the page does The page’s final scroll height was not discovered, or content appears only after scrolling. Keep pre-scroll enabled. In stitch mode, try a smaller scroll_increment and longer scroll_delay.
Images or sections are missing Lazy loading or delayed page updates did not finish before capture. Wait for a relevant page event or real DOM selector, then adjust scroll increments and delays.
Hindi characters show as boxes or fallback glyphs The intended web font may not have loaded or may not be available to the renderer. Check the source page’s font loading and use a suitable wait. Verify the resulting glyphs visually; Urlbox’s general font guidance is not a Devanagari guarantee.
Content repeats, overlaps, or has visible joins The stitch sections did not join cleanly, or fixed/sticky behavior affected the page. Use show_seams=true to inspect joins; adjust scrolling and waiting. Compare with native only after checking its accuracy on this page.
A wait selector does not hold the capture The selector may be wrong, unstable, or absent; a missing selector may not fail the render by default. Inspect the DOM, use a selector that is present when content is ready, and configure failure behavior if the workflow requires the selector.
The request is rejected or cannot reach the page Authentication is missing or incorrect, or the URL is not publicly accessible to Urlbox. Check the project credentials and request format in Urlbox’s current API documentation; confirm the URL is public.
The output format cannot represent the full dimensions JPEG or WebP dimension ceilings may constrain a long page. Use PNG for a long full-page capture, as Urlbox recommends when those limits matter.

7. Performance, reliability, and cost considerations

Full-page stitching needs scrolling and combining multiple sections, so it can take more work than a viewport capture. Skipping the initial scroll or choosing native mode can reduce work, with tradeoffs: skip-scroll may miss lazy content, and native may be less accurate on some sites. Longer waits and smaller increments can improve the chance of capturing delayed content but add time. Tune these only to the extent the page requires.

For repeatable captures, keep a record of the URL, format, full-page mode, wait settings, and scroll settings. Inspect the final artifact when completeness or correct Hindi typography matters; a successful API response cannot establish either on its own. Consult Urlbox’s current plan and pricing information directly before estimating recurring capture costs, since the research dossier does not establish prices.

FAQ

How do I take a full-page screenshot in Urlbox?

Request the page URL with PNG output and full_page=true. Start with the default stitch mode and pre-scroll enabled.

How do I screenshot a Hindi webpage without cutting off the bottom?

Keep pre-scroll enabled, inspect the bottom of the image, and adjust stitch increments or delays if lower sections load only after scrolling.

Why are Hindi letters showing as boxes or the wrong font?

The intended font may not have loaded for the source page or renderer. Check font loading and verify the screenshot; Urlbox’s cited web-font guidance does not guarantee Hindi-specific rendering.

Should I use PNG, JPEG, or WebP?

Start with PNG for long full-page images when JPEG or WebP dimension limits may matter. Choose another format only after confirming it supports the resulting dimensions and quality you need.
