To install FireShot in Chrome in India, open its official Chrome Web Store listing, choose Add to Chrome, review the permissions Chrome displays, then choose Add extension if you trust the requested access. There is no separate India-specific installation process in the official guidance reviewed.

Install FireShot on desktop Chrome

  1. Open Chrome on the computer where you want to use the extension. Use a regular browser window, not an Incognito or guest session.
  2. Visit the FireShot Chrome Web Store page. Check that the listing is Take Webpage Screenshots Entirely – FireShot and that it is published by the FireShot developer.
  3. Select Add to Chrome. Chrome may show the permissions FireShot requests. Read the prompt and continue with Add extension only if you are comfortable with the access described.
  4. After Chrome finishes installing it, select the puzzle-piece Extensions icon beside the address bar. FireShot should appear in the extension list.
  5. Optionally select the pin icon beside FireShot to keep it visible on the toolbar. FireShot’s getting-started page recommends pinning it for easier access.

Google’s extension installation guide covers the general Chrome process. The same browser flow applies in India.

Take your first screenshot

Open the page you want to capture, then start FireShot using one of the methods listed on its getting-started page:

  • Select the FireShot toolbar button.
  • Right-click the page and choose FireShot from the context menu.
  • Use Ctrl+Shift+S on Windows or Linux, as documented by FireShot. Mac-specific shortcut behavior is not confirmed here; use the toolbar or context menu if the shortcut does not work.

Follow FireShot’s prompts to choose or save the capture. The extension’s basic version is described by its publisher as free. You do not need to buy Pro just to install it.

Permissions and privacy

Chrome’s permission prompt tells you what access an extension may receive. Depending on the permission, that can include access to website data. Google’s permissions guidance recommends approving only extensions you trust. A warning is a request to review the access; it is not, by itself, proof that an extension is unsafe or safe.

The Chrome Web Store listing includes the developer’s declaration about data collection and use. FireShot’s own post-install page says captures are processed locally in the browser and are not uploaded to external servers. Treat these as statements from the respective sources, not as an independent guarantee about your particular browser setup.

Can you install it on a phone or managed computer?

Phone

Google’s documented mobile flow is to open Chrome, find the extension, and choose Add to Desktop. The extension is installed when you next open Chrome on the computer associated with that flow. This does not install the extension for use directly in Chrome on the phone.

Work or school computer

An administrator may control which extensions can be installed. If Chrome says installation is blocked or managed by your organization, contact the administrator rather than trying to bypass the policy.

Incognito or guest session

Chrome does not allow adding extensions while you are using Incognito mode or a guest profile. Return to a normal Chrome profile and open the Web Store listing there.

Free FireShot and optional Pro upgrade

FireShot’s getting-started page describes its basic extension as free. The publisher’s Pro purchase page lists advanced PDF export, annotations, capture history, batch captures, and automated captures as additional features. At the time the source was checked on 3 October 2026, the page listed Pro at $39.95 per year or $99.95 for a one-time lifetime license. Prices and offers can change, so check the publisher’s page for current terms. Pro is optional and not required for installation.

Or skip the browser setup

If you need screenshots in a script or service, ScreenshotNeo is a website screenshot API and MCP server from Yorker Media. One GET request can return an image or PDF. This example saves a WebP capture:

curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com -o shot.webp

See the ScreenshotNeo documentation for API options. Cookie banners, popups, and chat widgets are removed before the shot. Bot checks, blank pages, and failed loads are never billed. An MCP server lets AI agents use screenshot tools. The Free plan includes 1,000 screenshots a month with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000.

Troubleshooting

Problem Likely cause What to do
There is no “Add to Chrome” button. You may be viewing the listing in an unsupported session, or installation may be restricted. Open the listing in a regular Chrome profile. On a work or school device, ask the administrator whether the extension is allowed.
Chrome says the extension cannot be added in Incognito or guest mode. Chrome blocks extension installation in those sessions. Switch to a normal Chrome profile and install from there.
Chrome says your administrator blocked the extension. An organization policy controls extension installation. Contact your administrator. Do not try to work around the policy.
You cannot find FireShot after installation. It may be in Chrome’s Extensions menu rather than pinned to the toolbar. Select the puzzle-piece Extensions icon, find FireShot, and pin it if desired.
The keyboard shortcut does nothing. The shortcut documented by FireShot is Ctrl+Shift+S; platform behavior can differ, especially on Mac. Try the FireShot toolbar button or the page’s right-click menu.
You are unsure about the permission prompt. The prompt describes access Chrome is asking you to grant. Read Google’s permissions guidance and the listing details. Continue only if you trust the extension and accept the requested access.

Is there a special way to install FireShot in India?

No separate India-specific process is described in the official material reviewed. Use the Chrome Web Store listing and Chrome’s normal installation flow.

The publisher describes the basic extension as free. Pro is an optional paid upgrade for additional features; check its purchase page for current prices.
