How to Install and Use GoFullPage in Microsoft Edge
Install GoFullPage from Microsoft Edge Add-ons, capture a full webpage with its toolbar button or shortcut, and save the result as an image or PDF.
Install GoFullPage from the official Microsoft Edge Add-ons listing. Open the page you want to capture, then select GoFullPage’s camera icon in the toolbar or press Alt+Shift+P. The extension captures the page and opens the result in a new tab, where you can download it as an image or PDF. GoFullPage’s installation guidance recommends using its official store pages.
Install GoFullPage in Edge
- Open the GoFullPage listing in Microsoft Edge Add-ons. Check that the listing name is “GoFullPage – Full Page Screen Capture.”
- Select the install button shown by the store and follow Edge’s prompt to add the extension.
- After installation, look for the camera-shaped GoFullPage icon near the address bar. If it is not visible, open Edge’s Extensions menu and find GoFullPage there.
- To keep the icon visible, right-click the extension and choose “Move to the toolbar” if that option appears. The wording can vary with Edge’s interface.
Use the official Edge Add-ons listing. If you previously installed GoFullPage in Edge from the Chrome Web Store, remove one copy before switching. The publisher warns that keeping both can cause confusion because the icons look alike and Premium login may conflict. See the publisher’s Edge installation notes.
Capture and save a full webpage
- Navigate to the webpage you want to capture and wait for the content you need to appear.
- Select the GoFullPage camera icon, or use Alt+Shift+P.
- Let the extension capture the page. It scrolls through the page as part of the capture process.
- When the capture finishes, review the result in the new tab.
- Choose the image or PDF download option. The listing also says you can drag the result to your desktop.
The Edge Add-ons listing describes image and PDF downloads. Exceptionally large pages may be split into multiple images or tabs if Edge cannot keep the entire capture in one image.
Choose an image or PDF
Use an image when you need a single visual for a bug report, design review, or documentation. Choose PDF when you need a document-style file to share or archive. Very long captures may become unwieldy as one image, and especially large captures may be split. Check the result before sharing so you know whether it is one image or several.
Common problems and fixes
| What you see | Likely cause | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| The camera icon is missing | Edge has hidden the extension in its Extensions menu. | Open the Extensions menu, locate GoFullPage, and move it to the toolbar if that option is available. |
| The shortcut does not start a capture | The shortcut may not reach the extension, or the active tab may not be the page you meant to capture. | Try the toolbar icon. Confirm the intended webpage is active, then retry Alt+Shift+P. |
| Two GoFullPage icons or confusing Premium sign-in | Both the Edge Add-ons and Chrome Web Store versions may be installed. | Remove one version and keep the copy installed from the official store you intend to use. The publisher specifically notes possible icon and Premium login confusion when both are present. |
| The output is divided into multiple images | The page is exceptionally large and the browser may not be able to keep it in a single image. | Use the resulting image parts as provided, or capture a smaller portion of the page if one file is required. |
| The capture does not include content you expected | The content may not have appeared before the capture reached it, or the page may update dynamically. | Wait for the page to finish rendering and for the relevant content to appear, then retry. Review the finished capture before relying on it. |
Updates and reliability
Browser extensions generally receive updates through the browser, though the publisher’s update guide notes that delivery can be delayed. If GoFullPage behaves unexpectedly, first check its current version in Edge’s extensions management page and check the official listing for current details. The publisher’s 2021 update guide includes historical version examples; those numbers should not be treated as current. Store availability, compatibility, and interface labels can change.
For repeatable captures, use the same browser window size and let dynamic page content settle before starting. Full-page captures require the browser to process and assemble a long page, so very large pages can take longer and may produce multiple files.
Or skip the browser setup
If you need a repeatable capture in a script or service, ScreenshotNeo is a website screenshot API and MCP server. One GET request takes a URL and returns an image or PDF. Its clean-shot workflow accepts cookie or consent banners like a visitor and removes more than 60 known consent platforms, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before capture; each step can be turned off. Only clean shots are billed: bot checks or CAPTCHAs, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits cost nothing, and responses include X-Page-Verdict and X-Billed headers. Its MCP server provides take_screenshot, get_page_info, and capture_pdf for Claude, Cursor, and other MCP clients. The free plan includes 1,000 screenshots per month with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000 shots. Every feature is on every plan. See the ScreenshotNeo API documentation.
cURL
curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com -o shot.webp
Python
import requests
r = requests.get(
"https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot",
params={"access_key": "YOUR_API_KEY", "url": "https://stripe.com"},
timeout=90,
)
r.raise_for_status()
open("shot.webp", "wb").write(r.content)
Node.js
const q = new URLSearchParams({ access_key: 'YOUR_API_KEY', url: 'https://stripe.com' });
const res = await fetch(`https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot?${q}`);
if (!res.ok) throw new Error(`Screenshot request failed: ${res.status}`);
await import('node:fs/promises').then(({ writeFile }) => writeFile('shot.webp', Buffer.from(await res.arrayBuffer())));
Replace YOUR_API_KEY with your key and change the target URL. Keep the key out of public client-side code. The request waits up to 90 seconds in the Python example; for large pages, allow enough time and inspect the response headers to see the page verdict and billing status. ScreenshotNeo also supports full-page captures, PDF settings, custom waits, caching, and bulk capture; consult the docs for parameter names and options.
Create a free ScreenshotNeo account: 1,000 screenshots a month, no card required.
FAQ
Does GoFullPage capture only the visible screen?
It is intended for full-page capture: start it on the page and let it capture the page as it scrolls.
Can I save a capture as a PDF?
Yes. The Edge listing describes downloading the result as an image or PDF.
Can I keep the Chrome Web Store and Edge Add-ons versions installed together?
The publisher advises against keeping both copies in Edge because their icons look identical and Premium login can be confusing.
Does the tutorial require a special camera or other hardware?
No. GoFullPage is a browser extension, and its camera is an on-screen toolbar icon.
