LinkedIn Page Image Size: Company Cover, Logo, Posts and Career Pages
Use the correct LinkedIn Page image dimensions for covers, logos, link previews and Career Pages, with safe-area and export guidance.
For a LinkedIn Company Page, use a 1512 × 256 pixel cover image and a 400 × 400 pixel logo. LinkedIn lists 268 × 268 pixels as the logo minimum. Upload PNG or JPEG files no larger than 3 MB. These are different assets from a LinkedIn post link preview, which uses 1200 × 627 pixels.
LinkedIn Page image sizes at a glance
| Placement | Recommended size | Ratio | File guidance |
|---|---|---|---|
| Company Page cover | 1512 × 256 px | 5.91:1 | PNG or JPEG, maximum 3 MB |
| Company Page logo | 400 × 400 px | 1:1 | 268 × 268 px minimum; PNG or JPEG, maximum 3 MB |
| Link-preview image | 1200 × 627 px | 1.91:1 | Use a separate image from the cover |
| Career Pages Life tab main image | 1128 × 376 px | 3:1 | Requires the Career Pages enhancement |
| Career Pages custom module | 502 × 282 px | 1.78:1 | Requires the Career Pages enhancement |
| Career Pages company photo | 900 × 600 px recommended | 3:2 | 264 × 176 px minimum |
1. Company Page cover image: 1512 × 256 pixels
Create the cover on a 1512 × 256 pixel canvas. LinkedIn identifies this as both the minimum and recommended size for a Company Page cover.
Keep the important content inside a safe area
LinkedIn can trim the cover horizontally or vertically to fit different screens. Put the headline, logo treatment and other essential details near the center. Keep key information away from every edge, with extra care around the lower-right corner.
- Use a centered composition rather than edge-to-edge text.
- Leave generous padding around small type and logos.
- Preview the image at desktop and mobile widths before publishing.
- Do not rely on a detail that sits at the extreme right or bottom edge.
A cover can look correct in an editor and still lose content after LinkedIn adjusts it for a particular screen. The safe-area rule matters more than filling every available pixel.
2. Company Page logo: 400 × 400 pixels
Prepare the logo as a separate 400 × 400 pixel square. LinkedIn lists 268 × 268 pixels as the minimum, but the recommended canvas gives you more source resolution for processing and display.
- Center the mark and leave clear space around it.
- Check the logo on both light and dark backgrounds because LinkedIn displays it against both.
- If the artwork uses transparency, check how it appears against the white background used for transparent logos.
- Export a PNG when transparency or sharp flat edges matter; use a high-resolution JPEG when that produces a smaller, clean file.
3. LinkedIn link-preview image: 1200 × 627 pixels
A URL shared in a LinkedIn post uses a different image placement. Create a 1200 × 627 pixel image with a 1.91:1 ratio. Do not reuse the 1512 × 256 cover canvas: its extremely wide shape is unsuitable for a normal link preview.
The normal preview treatment expects an image wider than 200 pixels. LinkedIn says mobile previews are not cropped, but the image still needs a clear focal point and readable design at a small display size.
4. Career Pages and Life tab dimensions
Career Pages use their own modules. Prepare a 1128 × 376 pixel main Life-tab image, 502 × 282 pixel custom-module images, and company photos at 900 × 600 pixels recommended (264 × 176 pixels minimum). These modules require the Career Pages enhancement, so confirm that feature is enabled before designing around the dimensions.
5. File type, resolution and 3 MB limit
Page images must be PNG or JPEG and no larger than 3 MB. LinkedIn recommends a high-resolution JPEG for the best resolution. Choose the format based on the artwork:
| Use JPEG when | Use PNG when |
|---|---|
| The image is photographic or has gradients and you need a smaller file. | The image has transparency, flat-color graphics or sharp interface-like edges. |
| You can export at high quality while staying under 3 MB. | Lossless edges are more important than the smallest file. |
After export, confirm the pixel dimensions and file size rather than trusting the design document settings. A correctly sized image can still be rejected if compression leaves it above 3 MB.
6. A practical production workflow
- Create separate templates for the cover, logo, link preview and any Career Page modules.
- Set the exact pixel dimensions listed above before placing artwork.
- Keep cover details centered and away from the edges, especially the lower-right corner.
- Check the square logo on light and dark backgrounds.
- Export PNG or high-resolution JPEG.
- Verify every file is under 3 MB.
- Preview the cover on more than one screen size and inspect the published Page after upload.
7. Common problems and fixes
| Problem | Likely cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Cover text disappears | LinkedIn trimmed the edge of the image. | Move essential content toward the center and add more edge padding. |
| Logo looks soft | The source is close to the 268 px minimum or was heavily compressed. | Start with a 400 × 400 source and export at high quality. |
| Upload is rejected for size | The file exceeds 3 MB. | Re-export as a quality-controlled JPEG or optimize the PNG while preserving the required dimensions. |
| Link preview looks stretched | A cover image was reused for a post preview. | Create a dedicated 1200 × 627 image. |
| Logo has an unexpected background | Transparent artwork was viewed against a different background. | Check the transparent version against white and test the final LinkedIn display. |
| Career module does not fit | The asset uses Company Page dimensions or the enhancement is not enabled. | Use the Career Pages dimensions and verify the feature is active. |
