How to Capture Screenshots of Multiple Pages in Landscape Orientation

Learn when to use a full-page screenshot versus a landscape PDF, with steps for Firefox, iPhone, and browser-based capture.

First decide what “multiple pages” means. If you mean one webpage that scrolls below the screen, capture it as a full-page image: the result is usually one tall image, not separate landscape pages. If you need a printable document split into landscape pages, export or print to PDF with landscape orientation and page-splitting controls. Rotating a phone or making a screenshot viewport wider does not turn a tall image into a paginated landscape PDF.

This guide covers Firefox desktop, supported full-page capture on iPhone, and the documented route for a landscape PDF. Exact steps depend on the browser, app, and output you need; the available instructions do not establish a universal workflow for every app or embedded scroll area.

Choose the right output

Your goal Use Result
Capture an entire scrolling webpage Firefox full-page screenshot, or iPhone Full Page where supported One tall image, or an image/PDF on iPhone
Print content across separate landscape sheets A PDF export or print workflow with landscape orientation and page splitting A paginated landscape PDF
Capture several unrelated webpages Capture each URL separately, then combine the outputs in a document or PDF workflow A set of images or a compiled document

A full-page webpage capture and a multi-page PDF are different outputs. Before capturing, confirm whether you need an image or PDF, one continuous page or printable sheets, and whether the source is a browser page or content inside an app.

Capture a full webpage in Firefox

  1. Open the webpage and let its visible content finish loading. If it contains lazy-loaded images or sections, scroll through the page first so those elements have a chance to appear.
  2. Right-click an empty area of the page and choose Take Screenshot. You can also use Ctrl+Shift+S on Windows or Linux, or Command+Shift+S on macOS.
  3. Choose Save full page.
  4. Choose Download to save the image, or Copy to put it on the clipboard.

Mozilla documents Firefox capture for visible or full webpages, with download and clipboard options. This produces a webpage image; it does not by itself lay content out as multiple landscape PDF pages. Mozilla’s Firefox screenshot guide.

Use Firefox Developer Tools for a full-page capture

For a command-based workflow, Firefox Developer Tools include a screenshot command. Enable or open the Developer Tools screenshot control, then use :screenshot --fullpage in the relevant command interface to capture content beyond the visible window. Refer to Firefox Developer Tools screenshot documentation for current command options and interface details.

This is useful when you want a repeatable developer-tool workflow. It remains a full-page capture, not a page-layout engine: if you need landscape sheets, use a PDF export or print workflow that offers orientation and splitting.

Capture a full page on iPhone

  1. Take a screenshot. On Face ID models, press and release the Side button and Volume Up together. On iPhones with a Home button, press and release the Side button and Home button together.
  2. Tap the screenshot preview, then select Full Page if it is available.
  3. Save the result to Photos as an image, or choose Save PDF to Files.

Apple describes this for content longer than the screen, including an entire webpage in Safari. The control is not documented as available for every app or every screen, so do not assume it will appear for arbitrary content. See Apple’s iPhone screenshot instructions.

The Full Page option captures a long view; selecting PDF does not necessarily create several landscape sheets with chosen page breaks. If print layout and page orientation matter, use a PDF workflow that exposes those controls.

Make a landscape PDF with page breaks

For a paginated document, use an export or print tool that offers landscape orientation and page splitting. GoFullPage’s Chrome Web Store listing records that its version 6.6 release, dated July 15, 2020, added PDF export with landscape layout and smart page splitting. The listing also records image splitting for very long pages in version 1.0.0, dated May 9, 2016. Those are dated release-history details; confirm the extension’s current interface and available settings before relying on exact menu steps. GoFullPage listing and release history.

  1. Capture or open the content in the PDF export tool.
  2. Choose PDF output and set page orientation to landscape.
  3. Review the page-splitting or page-break setting. Use splitting for a very long capture instead of assuming one enormous image will print cleanly.
  4. Preview the PDF at its intended paper size. Check that text is readable, content is not clipped, and breaks do not split important sections.

Menu names and controls can change. The cited listing supports the existence of landscape PDF and smart splitting in a dated release note, but does not establish the current step-by-step interface.

Capture separate web pages

If “multiple pages” means multiple URLs, capture each page separately. Keep the same viewport, orientation, and output format for each capture so the images have a consistent layout. Then place them in a document or PDF tool if you need one landscape PDF. A full-page capture of one URL will not automatically capture other URLs.

For automated website capture, an API can take a URL and return an image or PDF. For example, ScreenshotNeo supports landscape PDF capture and bulk capture of up to 100 URLs per call. Its API also supports full-page screenshots, viewport settings, and output formats including PNG, JPEG, WebP, and PDF. See the ScreenshotNeo API documentation for parameters.

Or skip the browser setup

For a website screenshot or PDF, ScreenshotNeo takes a URL in one GET request. This runnable cURL example requests a landscape PDF:

curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" \
  -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY \
  --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com \
  -d format=pdf \
  -d landscape=true \
  -o page.pdf

Get an API key and check the current parameter names and PDF options in the ScreenshotNeo documentation. The same endpoint can capture an image by requesting an image format instead of PDF.

  • Cookie banners are accepted like a visitor, and 60+ known consent platforms, newsletter popups, and chat widgets are removed before the shot; each step can be turned off.
  • Bot checks, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits cost nothing. Response headers report the page verdict and whether the request was billed.
  • An MCP server gives AI agents tools for screenshots, page information, and PDF capture.
  • The free plan includes 1,000 screenshots a month with no card. Paid plans start at $5 for 3,000 screenshots; every feature is available on every plan.

Options that affect the result

Decision What it changes When to check it
Full page or visible viewport Captures the whole scrollable webpage or only what is currently on screen Before capture, especially for long pages
Landscape orientation Sets the orientation of PDF pages When the output is intended for printing or page-based reading
Page splitting Divides long content across PDF or image pages When one continuous capture would be unwieldy
Output type Image, clipboard content, or PDF depending on the workflow When choosing where the result will be edited, shared, or printed
Source support Determines whether full-page capture is available for the page or app When working outside a standard browser webpage

Troubleshooting

“Save full page” is missing

Make sure the Firefox screenshot tool is open on a webpage, not an unrelated app surface. Try the documented keyboard shortcut or open the screenshot command through Firefox’s Developer Tools. If the page is embedded or uses a separate scroll container, the normal full-page workflow may not capture that region as expected.

The capture is cut off or some content is missing

Wait for the page to load, then scroll through it before capturing. Some sites load images and sections only when they approach the viewport. Content inside embedded frames or independently scrolling regions may not be included in a standard page capture.

The iPhone preview has no “Full Page” option

Apple documents the feature for supported content such as Safari webpages, not every app or screen. Try the webpage in Safari. If the option remains unavailable, use a capture or export method supported by that app.

The PDF is tall instead of divided into landscape pages

A full-page screenshot is a continuous capture. Use a PDF export with landscape orientation and page splitting, then inspect the preview to confirm the output has separate sheets.

Landscape pages are clipped or hard to read

Check the PDF page size and preview at the intended print scale. A wider orientation changes the page shape but does not guarantee that the source content fits; adjust page breaks or choose a more suitable export layout.

A very long page creates an unwieldy file

Use a workflow with image or PDF splitting where available. The GoFullPage listing’s historical notes mention splitting capabilities, but verify current extension behavior before relying on a particular control.

Performance, reliability, and cost

  • Loading time: Wait for the page’s content to appear. Dynamic pages may continue changing after their initial load, so a capture taken too early can be incomplete.
  • Very long pages: One tall image may be difficult to view, share, or print. Splitting into pages can make a PDF more practical, but inspect page breaks.
  • Reliability: Capture support depends on the browser or app and the kind of content. The cited Firefox and Apple instructions cover webpage or supported scrollable content, not every application surface.
  • Cost: Firefox’s built-in capture and iPhone’s built-in screenshot flow are included with their respective platforms. An extension or screenshot API may have its own terms and pricing; check the provider’s current listing or plan before use.
  • Automated capture: ScreenshotNeo plans range from 1,000 free shots monthly to paid tiers from $5 for 3,000. Its response headers identify page verdict and billing status, which helps distinguish successful captures from non-billable failures.

FAQ

Does landscape orientation make a webpage screenshot wider?

Not by itself. PDF landscape orientation controls the shape of each PDF page. A webpage screenshot’s width comes from the capture viewport.

Can I save an iPhone full-page screenshot as a PDF?

Yes, for supported full-page captures, Apple’s instructions include saving the PDF to Files.

Can one full-page screenshot include several different URLs?

No. A full-page capture covers a page’s scrollable content. Capture each URL separately, then combine the results if needed.

Will every app let me capture its entire scrollable content?

No universal support is established by these instructions. The documented iPhone workflow is for supported content, and browser full-page capture applies to webpages.
