How to Save an Aadhaar Update Status Webpage as PDF in India
Save the Aadhaar update status shown in UIDAI’s MyAadhaar portal as a PDF using desktop Chrome, then check the saved file.
To save an Aadhaar update status webpage as a PDF, open the official UIDAI MyAadhaar status-check service, display your result, then use desktop Chrome’s print dialog and choose Save as PDF. This creates a PDF of the webpage as shown in the browser. It is not an e-Aadhaar download or an official status certificate.
Save the status page as a PDF in Chrome
- Open UIDAI’s status-check service. Reach the service from UIDAI’s official site and confirm the address is on
uidai.gov.inormyaadhaar.uidai.gov.inbefore entering any identifiers. UIDAI directs residents to MyAadhaar to check an update status. UIDAI · MyAadhaar - Enter the requested reference details. Follow the portal’s current authentication prompts. The exact fields can depend on the service route and request type.
- Wait for the result. Make sure the status itself is visible. If you need to expand a panel or complete another prompt to reveal it, do so before printing.
- Open Chrome’s print dialog. On Windows or Linux, press Ctrl+P. On Mac, press Command+P.
- Choose Save as PDF. In the destination selector, select Save as PDF. Review the preview to see whether the status and relevant page details are included, then save the file.
- Verify the saved PDF. Give it a clear filename, open it, and check that the displayed status and any relevant reference information made it into the document.
Chrome’s desktop print dialog also provides print settings and a destination selector. For the current controls, see Google Chrome Help: Print from Chrome.
What the PDF contains—and what it does not
This method prints the status webpage currently displayed in your browser. It does not download e-Aadhaar, and it does not turn the printout into a UIDAI-issued certificate. UIDAI lists checking update status and downloading Aadhaar as separate services; use the separate Download Aadhaar service if you need e-Aadhaar. MyAadhaar services
A browser printout reflects what the page renders at print time. The available sources do not establish that every dynamic portal element will appear in every printout, so inspect the preview and the saved file. If the result is absent from the preview, do not treat an incomplete PDF as proof of the status.
Save a useful record
- Use a filename that helps you identify the request later, without putting sensitive identifiers in a shared folder or public link.
- Keep the PDF somewhere access-controlled. A status page may contain personal or reference information.
- Check the PDF after saving, especially if you plan to share or print it.
- Remember that saving a copy does not change the request or speed up its processing.
If the update is still in process
UIDAI says update requests can take up to 90 days; this is guidance, not a guaranteed completion date. If a request remains in process after more than 90 days, UIDAI’s FAQ directs the holder to contact 1947 or UIDAI support. The FAQ also says processing cannot be expedited. UIDAI FAQ and support
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Likely cause | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| The PDF preview does not show the status | The result may not yet be visible in the page, or a dynamic panel may not be included in the print rendering. | Return to the status page, complete any prompt or expand the result, wait for it to appear, then reopen print preview. If it still does not appear, do not present that PDF as a complete status record. |
| The saved PDF is blank or incomplete | The browser printed only what was rendered or visible when the dialog opened. | Recheck the live page, wait until the result is visible, and inspect the new print preview before saving again. |
| You cannot find “Save as PDF” | The destination list or print interface may differ by browser or device. | Follow the desktop Chrome workflow in this guide and open the destination selector. The cited Chrome instructions cover desktop Chrome; they do not establish identical controls on mobile browsers. |
| The status has not changed | The request may still be processing. | Printing does not alter processing. UIDAI says an update can take up to 90 days; for a request older than 90 days, contact 1947 or UIDAI support. |
| You need an Aadhaar document rather than a status record | A status page PDF and e-Aadhaar serve different purposes. | Use UIDAI’s separate Download Aadhaar service when you need e-Aadhaar. |
Or skip the browser setup
If you need a screenshot or PDF capture through an API, ScreenshotNeo is a website screenshot API and MCP server for developers. A single request can return a screenshot or PDF. For an authenticated MyAadhaar result, do not send Aadhaar identifiers or session credentials to any third-party service unless you have assessed and authorized that handling. The example below targets a public page and does not retrieve a resident’s authenticated status.
ScreenshotNeo accepts cookie banners like a visitor and removes 60+ known consent platforms, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before capture; each step can be turned off. Bot checks, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits are not billed, and response headers identify the page verdict and billing status. Its MCP server offers take_screenshot, get_page_info, and capture_pdf for Claude, Cursor, and other MCP clients. The Free plan includes 1,000 shots per month without a card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000 shots. Every feature is on every plan. See the ScreenshotNeo API documentation.
cURL
curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com -o shot.webp
Python

params={"access_key": "YOUR_API_KEY", "url": "https://stripe.com"},

)
open("shot.webp", "wb").write(r.content)
Node.js
const q = new URLSearchParams({ access_key: 'YOUR_API_KEY', url: 'https://stripe.com' });
const res = await fetch(`https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot?${q}`);
const bytes = new Uint8Array(await res.arrayBuffer());
await import('node:fs/promises').then(fs => fs.writeFile('shot.webp', bytes));
These examples capture the public Stripe homepage as a generic API example; change the target URL to a page you are authorized to capture. For an authenticated status, the safest simple route is to use the portal and save its print view locally in your browser.

No. Printing only saves what is displayed. UIDAI’s FAQ says updates can take up to 90 days and processing cannot be expedited.
Can I use this exact workflow on a phone?
This guide documents desktop Chrome. The cited browser instructions do not establish matching print controls or output on every mobile browser.
