How to Save a Bank Statement Webpage as PDF from Indian Net Banking

Download a bank-issued statement when available, or save the statement webpage as a PDF with Chrome. Steps vary by bank.

First check your bank’s net-banking portal for its own statement download or PDF option. A bank-generated statement is usually the clearest route when you need a statement for a particular date range. If the statement is only displayed as a webpage, use Chrome’s Print dialog and choose a PDF destination. Bank menus and document options vary, so verify the saved file before relying on it.

Choose the right way to save the statement

Use this order:

  1. Bank download or export: Choose this when the portal offers the account, date range, and format you need.
  2. Browser print to PDF: Use this when the statement is visible as a webpage but no suitable bank download is available.

These are different document-generation paths. A browser-printed page may not meet a receiving organization’s requirements. If you are submitting a statement for a loan, visa, tax matter, or another formal purpose, check what the recipient accepts.

Download a bank-issued statement

  1. Go to your bank’s genuine net-banking site using your usual sign-in route. Do not share your password, one-time code, or session with another person or service.
  2. Open the account or statement section. Look for labels such as Account Statement, Get Statement, or e-Statements; the wording differs between banks.
  3. Select the correct account and the required start and end dates. Check the selected period before continuing.
  4. Choose PDF or the bank’s own save or export option, if offered, and download the file.
  5. Open the saved document and check the account, date range, and transaction rows.

For example, ICICI describes a route through Bank Accounts > e-Statements > View Detailed Statement, followed by choosing a date range and downloading. HDFC documents statement options under Get Statement or Accounts, and lists PDF among its available download formats. Indian Overseas Bank describes an Accounts > Account Statements > view/print path with account and date selection. Deutsche Bank India describes selecting an account and period, then choosing Save as PDF. These are examples, not shared instructions for every bank.

Save a statement webpage as PDF in Chrome

On Windows or Linux

  1. Sign in to the bank portal and open the statement webpage.
  2. Select the intended account and date range, if those controls are on the page. Wait for the statement details to appear.
  3. Press Ctrl+P, or open Chrome’s menu and choose Print.
  4. In the print dialog, choose a PDF destination such as Save as PDF.
  5. Review the preview. Confirm that the statement content and relevant transaction rows appear, then save the file to a location you can find.
  6. Open the saved PDF and verify it again.

On Mac

Follow the same steps, using Command+P to open the print dialog.

On Android

  1. Open the statement in Chrome and wait for it to load.
  2. Tap More > Share > Print.
  3. Choose Save as PDF, select a location, and save.
  4. Open the saved file and check that the needed details are present.

Chrome’s print controls and exact labels can vary by device and version. If you do not see a PDF destination, first look for a bank-provided statement download or export.

Bank-specific menu examples

Use your bank’s own current help page for the exact menu path. The following official examples illustrate why there is no single route for all Indian net-banking portals:

  • ICICI Bank: Bank Accounts > e-Statements > View Detailed Statement; select a date range and download. Its page describes statement history for that service, but availability can be specific to the account and bank rules. ICICI statement instructions.
  • HDFC Bank: Its FAQ describes Get Statement or Accounts > Account Statement flows, followed by choosing an account and period. It lists PDF, Excel, Text, Delimited, and MSMoney as download formats; email statements are PDF. HDFC statement guidance.
  • Indian Overseas Bank: Its FAQ describes Accounts > Account Statements > view/print, then account and from/to date selection. IOB FAQs.
  • Deutsche Bank India: Its online banking page describes choosing an account and period, then Save as PDF. Deutsche Bank India online banking.
  • Indian Bank: Its official net-banking page confirms statement access, but the referenced page does not give a detailed PDF workflow. Indian Bank internet banking.

Menu names and available periods can change. Treat each bank example as an illustration, not a promise that the same labels or formats appear in your account.

Check the PDF before using it

  • Confirm that you selected the intended account.
  • Confirm the start and end dates match your request.
  • Check that the first and last transaction rows for the period are present.
  • Look for missing columns, clipped amounts, blank pages, or content split across pages.
  • Confirm whether the recipient requires a bank-issued statement or accepts a browser-generated printout.
  • Keep the PDF in a private location and avoid uploading it to an untrusted online converter; it contains sensitive financial information.

Troubleshooting

Problem Likely cause What to try
No PDF option on the statement page The bank may provide PDF through a separate download, export, or e-Statement flow. Return to the account or statement menu and check for a bank download. Use Chrome print only if the webpage is the available route.
Print preview is blank or missing transactions The statement may not have loaded, or the selected account or date range may be wrong. Verify the selection, wait for the page to finish loading, then reopen Print. If it remains incomplete, consult the bank’s help or use its download/export route.
Rows or columns are cut off The webpage’s print layout may not fit the page width. Inspect the preview and try available print settings such as orientation or scale. If the result still omits data, use the bank’s export instead. Layout controls do not fix every bank page.
The saved file is password-protected Some banks protect statement downloads. Follow the instructions for that bank and file. Do not assume another bank’s password convention applies.
The PDF does not meet submission requirements The recipient may require a bank-issued document or a particular format. Ask the receiving organization which document it accepts, then obtain that format from the bank if required.

Privacy, reliability, and cost

Bank portals may require sign-in and may display sensitive account data. Create the PDF locally through the bank’s own download or your browser’s print dialog. Do not give a screenshot service your banking credentials, cookies, authorization headers, or access to a logged-in statement page. A third-party capture API is not a substitute for downloading a private bank statement, and this article does not recommend sending authenticated financial pages to one.

For browser printing, the result depends on what the bank page renders and exposes to Chrome’s print preview. Check the saved document rather than assuming that a successful save means the full statement was captured. Bank downloads may have their own date-range limits, file protections, or available formats; verify these in the portal or bank help.

Chrome’s built-in print-to-PDF workflow does not require a separate paid PDF tool. Do not pay for a converter just to save a webpage as PDF unless you have a separate need and have checked its privacy implications.

Or skip the browser setup

For public webpages that are safe to capture, ScreenshotNeo offers a website screenshot API. It is not intended for private net-banking statements: do not send bank credentials, cookies, or authenticated account pages to it. A single GET request can return a PNG, JPEG, WebP, or PDF. See the ScreenshotNeo API documentation.

curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com -o shot.webp
import requests
r = requests.get("https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot", params={"access_key": "YOUR_API_KEY", "url": "https://stripe.com"}, timeout=90)
open("shot.webp", "wb").write(r.content)
const q = new URLSearchParams({ access_key: 'YOUR_API_KEY', url: 'https://stripe.com' });
const res = await fetch(`https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot?${q}`);

Before a public-page capture, ScreenshotNeo accepts cookie or consent banners and removes more than 60 known consent platforms, newsletter popups, and chat widgets; each step can be turned off. Bot checks, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits are not billed, and response headers report the page verdict and billing status. Its MCP server lets AI agents use take_screenshot, get_page_info, and capture_pdf. The free plan includes 1,000 screenshots a month with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000. Every feature is on every plan. For a private statement, stay with your bank portal and local print workflow.

FAQ

Is a browser-printed statement the same as a bank-issued PDF?

No. They are produced through different routes. Check the recipient’s document requirements if you are submitting it formally.

Can every Indian bank use the same menu path?

No. Account and statement menus differ by bank, and features can differ by account. Use the relevant bank’s portal help for current instructions.

What if the statement period I need is unavailable?

Check the bank’s statement options or contact the bank to learn what historical periods it can provide for your account.

Should I use a screenshot API for net-banking?

No. A logged-in statement contains sensitive data. Do not send credentials or authenticated account pages to a third-party capture service.
