How to Save Multiple Open Tabs with Save Page WE

Save selected tabs together or batch-save a URL list with Save Page WE. Choose what page resources to include and know what to expect during the save.

To save several open pages with Save Page WE, select the tabs in your browser, open the extension menu, and choose Save Selected Tabs. Choose Basic, Standard, or Custom Items for the saved resources. Save Page WE downloads each page as an HTML file. If you have URLs rather than open tabs, load a URL list in the Zoom Page WE Options dialog and use Save Listed URLs.

Save selected open tabs

  1. Open the pages you want to keep in browser tabs.
  2. Select the tabs in the tab bar. Browser tab selection gestures vary by browser and operating system; use the browser’s standard multi-select behavior.
  3. Open the Save Page WE toolbar button menu or context menu.
  4. Choose Save Selected Tabs, then choose Basic Items, Standard Items, or Custom Items.
  5. Allow the extension to process the selected pages and save the resulting HTML files from the browser download flow.

The extension’s overview also describes clicking its toolbar button as saving pages in all currently selected tabs. If you use this frequently, configure the toolbar button to perform a Save Selected Tabs action directly. Menu names or placement can differ as browser store listings and extension versions change.

Choose what goes into each saved page

Choice What it includes When to choose it
Basic Items Essential page content For a simpler saved copy with core content.
Standard Items Basic Items plus additional listed resource types For a fuller copy when the extra resources matter.
Custom Items Basic Items plus the extra item types you select When you want to control which additional resource types are saved.

These settings control which resources Save Page WE includes. They are not a guarantee that every interactive feature or remotely loaded component will work offline. The extension describes the result as a highly accurate representation, but the saved page’s behavior depends on the page and its resources.

Save a list of URLs instead

Use this workflow when the pages are not already open, or when you have a batch of addresses to process:

  1. Prepare a file containing the URLs you want saved.
  2. Open the Zoom Page WE Options dialog and load the URL file.
  3. Choose Save Listed URLs.
  4. Choose the applicable saved-item level and let the extension process the listed pages.

This method is for a URL list; it is separate from selecting tabs that are already open.

Shortcuts and settings to know

  • Alt+A is the documented default shortcut to save a page.
  • Alt+C cancels a single-page or multiple-page save.
  • Shortcuts can be changed in the extension options.
  • The menu includes Save Selected Tabs (Basic, Standard or Custom Items).

If the option to load lazy content is enabled, Save Page WE switches tabs to the foreground during a multiple-page save. The browser may visibly change tabs while the operation runs; this is expected for that setting.

What to expect from the saved files

Save Page WE’s default output is HTML. Its stated purpose is to save a page as a single HTML file that can be opened in a browser. The exact fidelity depends on the page and the resources included. In particular, selecting more item types does not ensure that a live service, login-dependent content, or every interactive element will be available later without a network connection.

Save Page WE is listed for Firefox and Chrome, with the listing describing the functions and user interface as identical. Check the current extension listing and options if your browser’s menu or a setting differs.

Troubleshooting

Save Selected Tabs is missing

Make sure more than one tab is selected, then open the Save Page WE menu or context menu. The exact menu location can vary by browser and extension version. Check the extension listing if the displayed commands differ.

Only one page appears to be saving

Verify that the intended tabs are selected in the browser tab bar before invoking the command. The toolbar action applies to currently selected tabs; configuring it for a direct single-page save can also change what happens when you click it.

The browser keeps switching between tabs

This can happen when loading lazy content is enabled during a multiple-page save. The extension brings tabs to the foreground as it processes them. Review the lazy-content option if foreground switching is undesirable for your workflow.

The saved page is missing a resource or interaction

Try Standard Items or configure Custom Items to include the relevant resource type. The saved-item choices affect what is included, but cannot guarantee offline operation of all remote or interactive page features.

The shortcut does not work

Alt+A and Alt+C are documented defaults, and shortcuts can be reconfigured. Check the extension options for the current assignments and possible conflicts with browser or operating-system shortcuts.

A listed URL did not produce the page you expected

Confirm the address is present and correct in the URL file loaded through Zoom Page WE Options, then run Save Listed URLs. Pages that require access or depend on live resources may not produce a fully usable offline copy.

Performance, reliability, and cost

A multi-page save processes each selected tab or listed URL, so allow the operation to finish before closing relevant tabs or interrupting the browser. Loading lazy content can require foreground tab switching. The research available for this guide does not establish a time benchmark, maximum batch size, or independent compatibility rate, so processing time and fidelity should be judged on the pages you need to archive.

Save Page WE is a browser extension, and the described workflows save HTML files through the browser. The documentation reviewed for this guide does not establish a paid tier or per-save price; check the current browser extension listing for current availability details.

Or skip the browser setup

FAQ

Does Save Page WE create one combined file for all selected tabs?

The documented workflow saves pages as HTML; it does not describe combining multiple pages into one document.

Can I use the URL-list method for pages that are not open?

Yes. Load a file containing the URLs in Zoom Page WE Options, then choose Save Listed URLs.

Does a saved HTML file preserve every page feature?

No such guarantee is documented. The inclusion level controls saved resources, while some features may depend on live services or remote resources.

Are Firefox and Chrome workflows different?

The Firefox Add-ons listing describes the Firefox and Chrome versions as having identical functions and user interfaces. Check the current listing if your installed version looks different.
