How to Save a Scrolling Webpage Screenshot in Edge on macOS
Use Edge’s built-in Screenshot tool to capture and save a full webpage on your Mac. Here’s the menu workflow, what to do if it’s missing, and when to use other capture options.
To save a scrolling webpage as one screenshot in Microsoft Edge on macOS, open the page, choose Screenshot from Edge’s Settings and more (…) menu or the page context menu, select Capture full page, review the result, and save it. Edge’s built-in tool captures page content beyond the visible browser window. Microsoft documents macOS support, though a work or school policy can disable the feature. Microsoft’s Screenshot guide and its feature description cover the workflow.
Save a full webpage screenshot in Edge on a Mac
- Open the webpage in Microsoft Edge and wait for the content you need to appear. If it has images or other content that loads as you scroll, scroll through the relevant areas first and let them finish loading.
- Open Settings and more (…) in the upper-right corner. Choose Screenshot. You can also open the webpage’s context menu and choose Screenshot.
- Choose Capture full page. This captures the webpage beyond the visible viewport, rather than only what currently fits on screen.
- Review the capture. Use the available save control to store the image. Depending on the version, the tool may also offer copying, markup, or sharing.
Microsoft previously called this feature Web Capture. The name and controls can differ between Edge releases, so follow the current menu label if it differs from these instructions. Microsoft notes that feature functionality can change.
Which shortcut opens Screenshot on macOS?
Microsoft’s Web Capture guide lists Ctrl+Shift+S, and its current feature page repeats that shortcut. The documentation does not specify a Mac-specific remapping, and Microsoft’s Edge-for-Mac keyboard reference does not list a Screenshot shortcut. Treat the shortcut as version-dependent on macOS. If it does not work, use the Settings and more menu or the page context menu.
Do not substitute Command+S: Microsoft documents that as saving the current tab, not saving a screenshot. Command+P opens printing.
What to do if Screenshot or Capture full page is missing
- Update Edge: Screenshot availability and labels can vary by release. Check for an available Edge update, then reopen the menu.
- Check both menus: Look in Settings and more (…) and the webpage’s context menu. The entry may be easier to find in one of them.
- Check whether the browser is managed: Microsoft’s WebCaptureEnabled policy documentation says the feature is supported on macOS from Edge version 87. When the policy is disabled, users cannot access Screenshot. On a work or school Mac, ask the browser administrator whether this policy is applied.
- Retry after the page settles: If the capture is incomplete, wait for the page to finish loading and capture again. For pages that reveal content only as you scroll, scroll through the page first so that content can load.
- Use the right output option: If you need a paginated document, use Edge’s print dialog instead of expecting the screenshot tool to create a PDF.
Choose the capture method for the output you need
| Method | What it captures or produces | Use it when |
|---|---|---|
| Edge Screenshot: Capture full page | A screenshot of the whole webpage, including content beyond the visible viewport | You need one image of a scrolling webpage |
| macOS Screenshot | The screen, a selected area, or a window or menu | You need to show what is visible on the Mac display, rather than capture the entire scrolling page |
| Edge Print | A paginated print layout or PDF through the print dialog | You need a document suited to printing, page selection, or page-by-page review |
| OneNote Web Clipper | A Full Page or Region screenshot, or an Article capture with editable text and images | You want to save the capture to a OneNote notebook or keep editable article content |
Apple’s Mac screenshot instructions describe screen, window, and selection capture. For a printable output, see Microsoft’s Edge printing guide. For notebook clipping, see OneNote Web Clipper’s guide.

ScreenshotNeo is a website screenshot API and MCP server. Make one GET request with a URL to receive a PNG, JPEG, WebP, or PDF. Its capture options include full-page screenshots with lazy images loaded, and it can also capture an element by CSS selector. See the ScreenshotNeo API documentation.
curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com -o shot.webp
import requests
r = requests.get(
"https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot",
params={"access_key": "YOUR_API_KEY", "url": "https://stripe.com"},
timeout=90,
)
open("shot.webp", "wb").write(r.content)
const q = new URLSearchParams({ access_key: 'YOUR_API_KEY', url: 'https://stripe.com' });
const res = await fetch(`https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot?${q}`);
if (!res.ok) throw new Error(`Screenshot request failed: ${res.status}`);
const image = Buffer.from(await res.arrayBuffer());
await import('node:fs/promises').then(fs => fs.writeFile('shot.webp', image));
ScreenshotNeo accepts cookie or consent banners and removes more than 60 known consent platforms, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before capture; each of those steps can be turned off. Bot checks, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits cost nothing, and response headers report the page verdict and billing status. Its MCP server provides take_screenshot, get_page_info, and capture_pdf tools for AI agents and other MCP clients. The free plan includes 1,000 screenshots a month with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000.

FAQ
Does Edge on macOS save a full webpage as one image?
Yes. Choose Screenshot, then Capture full page, and save the resulting capture.
Is macOS’s built-in Screenshot app enough?
It captures the display, a window, or a selected area. For a scrolling webpage that extends beyond the screen, use Edge’s full-page capture.
Can I save the page as a PDF instead?
Yes. Use Edge’s print dialog with Command+P and choose a PDF destination in the macOS print flow. A PDF is paginated document output, not a single screenshot image.
Can I save the capture directly to OneNote?
Use the OneNote Web Clipper extension if you want a notebook destination. Its modes include Full Page and Region screenshot images, plus Article content with editable text and images.
