How to Schedule Visualping Website Screenshots Every Hour

Set Visualping to check a page hourly, understand schedule windows and time zones, and troubleshoot missed checks and usage.

To schedule hourly website screenshots in Visualping, open the monitor in the dashboard, choose an hourly check frequency from its frequency dropdown, and save the monitor if prompted. For checks limited to certain days or hours, also configure Schedule in the monitor settings. Frequency sets how often Visualping checks; the schedule sets when checks are allowed to run.

Visualping’s help center says its maximum check frequency is every two minutes, so hourly checks are within its documented capability. The exact options shown can depend on the account. The documentation does not promise that a check will run at the same minute on every hour, so treat “hourly” as an interval setting rather than an exact wall-clock appointment.

Set an hourly check frequency

  1. Open Visualping and find the webpage monitor in your dashboard.
  2. Open the monitor’s frequency dropdown.
  3. Select the hourly interval available for that monitor.
  4. Save or confirm the change if Visualping prompts you.
  5. Return to the dashboard and check the monitor status and next scheduled checks.

Visualping’s general workflow is to add a webpage, choose the page or element to monitor, describe the changes of interest, select a check frequency, then review detected changes in the dashboard or notifications. Cloud monitors continue running when your computer or browser is off. Local monitoring requires Chrome to remain open. See Visualping’s help center for the current product instructions.

Use Advanced Scheduling to limit days and hours

An hourly frequency does not mean checks run around the clock if you also restrict the monitor with Advanced Scheduling. Use the schedule when you want checks only on selected days or during a daily time window.

  1. Open the monitor’s settings panel.
  2. Choose Schedule.
  3. Select the days on which checks may run.
  4. Set the daily time window and save the settings.
  5. Confirm the schedule’s timezone and review the next checks in the dashboard.

The current help article describes one time block per day, with the same time range applying to every selected day. If you need multiple disjoint windows in a day, the reviewed documentation does not establish that this is supported.

Check the timezone before setting local hours

Advanced Scheduling follows the workspace timezone. Business users can set the workspace timezone in Workspace Settings. Plans without an explicit workspace timezone use the user’s timezone. Confirm which timezone applies before interpreting a schedule as local business hours, especially when teammates work in different regions.

Understand interval, schedule, and actual run time

Setting or behavior What it controls
Frequency How often Visualping checks the monitored page. Hourly is less frequent than Visualping’s documented maximum of once every two minutes.
Advanced Scheduling The days and daily time window during which checks are allowed. It restricts the frequency schedule.
Next checks in the dashboard The practical confirmation of the monitor’s current state and upcoming runs. Do not infer an exact minute each hour from the hourly interval alone.

For example, an hourly frequency combined with a weekday daytime schedule means the monitor is restricted to that schedule window; it does not create a promise of a run at precisely :00. Consult the dashboard to confirm the configured monitor and upcoming checks.

Choose an hourly cadence and estimate check use

Hourly checks are useful when you want regular change detection but do not need the fastest available cadence. Choose a cadence based on how quickly you need to know about a change and how many pages you monitor. Visualping states that check consumption is frequency multiplied by pages. Increasing frequency or adding pages therefore increases check use. Its Health Dashboard estimates monthly use under current schedules; review that estimate before changing many monitors.

Visualping documents a maximum frequency of every two minutes, but that is a capability limit, not a recommendation for every site. Use hourly checks when that detection delay is acceptable, and use a more frequent setting only when the shorter delay is useful for the monitored page.

Troubleshooting hourly checks

Symptom Likely cause What to do
The frequency dropdown has no hourly option Available choices can depend on the monitor or account; the reviewed documentation does not establish identical dropdown choices for every account. Check the current monitor settings and account entitlements in Visualping. Do not assume the published maximum means every interval is offered on every monitor.
A check did not run at the top of the hour The documented frequency is an interval setting; the reviewed material does not guarantee exact minute-by-minute execution. Check the dashboard status and next checks instead of relying on an exact :00 run.
The monitor runs outside the hours you expected Frequency is set, but Advanced Scheduling is not configured as intended, or the timezone was misidentified. Review Schedule, selected days, the shared daily time range, and the workspace or user timezone.
The monitor stops checking while your computer is off The monitor may be configured for local monitoring, which requires Chrome to remain open. Use a cloud monitor if checks need to continue while your computer or browser is off.
Monthly usage is higher than expected Check use grows with frequency multiplied by page count; more frequent checks and more monitored pages raise consumption. Review the Health Dashboard estimate under current schedules and reduce frequency or page count where the faster coverage is unnecessary.

For account-specific settings or changes to Visualping’s current interface, use its official help center. The reviewed documentation does not establish exact account pricing or a guaranteed run time within each hour.

Or skip the browser setup

If your goal is to capture a page on demand from code, ScreenshotNeo is a website screenshot API and MCP server from Yorker Media. One GET request returns a PNG, JPEG, WebP, or PDF. It is an alternative for capturing pages; it does not configure or schedule a Visualping monitor.

curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com -o shot.webp
import requests
r = requests.get("https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot", params={"access_key": "YOUR_API_KEY", "url": "https://stripe.com"}, timeout=90)
open("shot.webp", "wb").write(r.content)
const q = new URLSearchParams({ access_key: 'YOUR_API_KEY', url: 'https://stripe.com' });
const res = await fetch(`https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot?${q}`);

See the ScreenshotNeo API documentation for request options. ScreenshotNeo removes cookie banners, popups, and chat widgets before the shot. Bot checks, blank pages, and failed loads are never billed. Its MCP server lets AI agents take screenshots. The Free plan includes 1,000 screenshots a month with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000.

FAQ

Can Visualping check a page every hour?

Yes. Its documented maximum check frequency is every two minutes, so hourly checks are within that capability. Confirm the interval available in your monitor’s dropdown.

Does a schedule replace the frequency setting?

No. Frequency sets how often checks run; Advanced Scheduling restricts the days and daily time window when checks may run.

Can I set a different schedule window for each weekday?

The current help article describes a shared time range for all selected days and one time block per day.

Will hourly checks run when my laptop is closed?

Cloud monitors continue when your computer or browser is off. Local monitoring requires Chrome to stay open.
