How to Screenshot Google Results in English and Hindi for Keyword Research

Capture separate English and Hindi Google result pages, keep the comparison controlled, and save full-page screenshots with their search context.

To compare Google results in English and Hindi, run the same search separately with Google’s Results Language Filter set to English and Hindi, then capture each page using the same screenshot scope. Record the query, selected result language, location, device or viewport, and date beside each image. A query’s language alone does not guarantee that Google will show results only in that language.

This produces evidence of what Google showed under those specific conditions. It does not establish a universal or permanent ranking: location, language, device, and personalization can affect results. Google explains why results can differ between people.

  1. Choose the query you want to research. Keep its wording identical for both runs if you want to isolate the effect of the result-language filter. If you translate or transliterate it for the Hindi run, record that as a separate variable.
  2. Use the same Google Search location or region, device, browser, and viewport for both runs. Note any condition you cannot keep constant.
  3. Run the search, then open Tools > Any language and select Hindi for the Hindi run. Repeat the search and select English for a separate English run.
  4. Capture each result page using the same scope: either the visible viewport or the full page. Save each image with a filename that identifies the query, selected language, region, device or viewport, and date.

Google’s Results Language Filter may not appear if English is the only selected result language. If needed, use Search settings to edit the selected result languages. The exact interface labels and menu placement can change.

How do I change Google search results language?

Use the Results Language Filter in Search, rather than relying on the language of your query or changing Google’s display language. Google says the filter is available through Tools > Any language; select one language for each run. Google’s language help explains how result languages are selected and how the filter works.

If you select multiple languages together, Google treats them as one combined selection. That does not give you separate English and Hindi result sets. For a comparison, make two runs and capture them separately.

Does changing Google’s language change search results?

It depends on which language setting you change. Google’s display language changes interface text such as buttons; it does not itself set the language of results. Use the Results Language Filter to target result languages. Google documents the display-language setting.

Even with a result-language filter, do not assume every result or Search feature will change. Google says the filter mainly works for web results, may not affect some Search features, and can miss pages when it cannot detect their language, including mixed-language pages. The query language is one signal among several; Google can show useful pages in other languages too.

How do I take a full-page screenshot in Chrome?

In desktop Chrome, open DevTools and use its screenshot command. Choose Capture screenshot for the current viewport, or More options > Capture a full size screenshot to include content beyond the viewport. Use the same choice for both language runs so the images are comparable. Chrome DevTools documentation describes the screenshot commands.

Capture the two pages

  1. Finish setting the language filter and wait for the results page to settle.
  2. Open Chrome DevTools. In the DevTools menu, choose the screenshot command for the viewport or full page.
  3. Save the resulting image with a descriptive filename, for example best-running-shoes_hindi_IN_desktop_2026-10-04.png.
  4. Repeat for the other language, keeping the query, region, browser, device, viewport, and capture scope consistent.
  5. Keep a short notes file with the exact query and conditions. Do not rely on the filename alone if the query is long or has non-Latin characters.

Use a viewport capture when the visible top of the page is the evidence you need. Use a full-page capture when you need to review results farther down the page. A full-page image can be much taller and harder to compare at a glance.

What to record for keyword research

Condition What to record Why it matters
Query Exact text, including script, spelling, and punctuation A translation or transliteration changes the query as well as the result filter.
Selected result language English or Hindi, plus the date of the run Keep the two filtered runs distinct.
Location or region The setting or region used, if known Search context can affect results.
Device and viewport Desktop or mobile, browser, and viewport dimensions when relevant Layout and visible result features can change with screen size.
Capture scope Viewport or full page A viewport image omits content outside the visible area.
Observed page Visible result types, features, and organic ordering These describe what the capture shows without implying a stable global ranking.

For a controlled comparison, keep all conditions constant except the result language. If the research question is instead how people search in each language, use the appropriate English and Hindi query wording, and explicitly treat query wording as another changed variable.

Or skip the browser setup

ScreenshotNeo can capture a URL with one GET request. First set the Google result-language filter in the browser and use the resulting page URL for that run; repeat for the other language. This API call captures the supplied URL. It does not select Google’s language filter for you. See the ScreenshotNeo API documentation.

curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://www.google.com/search?q=running+shoes -o shot.webp
import requests

page_url = "https://www.google.com/search?q=running+shoes"
r = requests.get(
    "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot",
    params={"access_key": "YOUR_API_KEY", "url": page_url},
    timeout=90,
)
r.raise_for_status()
open("shot.webp", "wb").write(r.content)
const pageUrl = 'https://www.google.com/search?q=running+shoes';
const q = new URLSearchParams({ access_key: 'YOUR_API_KEY', url: pageUrl });
const res = await fetch(`https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot?${q}`);
if (!res.ok) throw new Error(`Screenshot request failed: ${res.status}`);
await Bun.write('shot.webp', new Uint8Array(await res.arrayBuffer()));

Replace the example search URL with the URL for the run you intend to capture. Save English and Hindi captures as separate files and label the language and conditions. ScreenshotNeo removes cookie banners, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before the shot. Bot checks, blank pages, and failed loads are never billed. Its MCP server lets AI agents take screenshots, and 1,000 screenshots a month are free with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000. Troubleshooting

Problem Likely cause What to do
“Any language” or the language filter is missing English may be the only selected result language, or the interface has changed. Edit selected result languages in Search settings, then look for the Results Language Filter again.
Changing display language did not produce Hindi results Display language changes interface text, not the result-language filter. Set Hindi through the Results Language Filter and capture a separate run.
The Hindi-filtered page still contains English results Google may not identify a page’s language, the page may be mixed-language, or the filter may not apply to that Search feature. Treat the filter as a targeting aid, inspect the visible results, and note the limitation in your research.
English and Hindi screenshots look different beyond result language Query wording, location, personalization, device, viewport, or capture scope may differ. Re-run with controlled conditions, or document each changed variable.
The screenshot omits lower results A viewport capture records only what is visible. Use Chrome DevTools’ full-size screenshot command.
A full-page screenshot is unwieldy The captured page is taller than the viewport. Use a viewport screenshot if the research only needs the visible results, or keep the full-page image for inspection and create a consistent viewport capture for side-by-side review.
A screenshot API capture does not match the filtered browser page The supplied URL may not preserve the same search state, or the request may be viewed under different context. Use the exact page URL from the filtered run, compare its visible state with the browser, and retain the browser capture when you need to document the interactive filter selection itself.

Reliability, interpretation, and cost

Google results are contextual and can change. A screenshot is a record of one query, language selection, location, device, and time. Keep those conditions with the artifact, and repeat captures when tracking change over time. Do not describe one image as the definitive ranking for a language or market.

The manual workflow uses Google Search and Chrome DevTools. Chrome captures locally, so the practical costs are researcher time and storing the images. If capturing many URLs, an API can reduce repetitive browser work, but this language-filter workflow still requires you to establish the desired Google search state. ScreenshotNeo’s listed plans are Free: 1,000 shots/month; Starter: $5 for 3,000; Growth: $15 for 15,000; Pro: $39 for 60,000; Scale: $99 for 250,000; Business: $249 for 1,000,000. Yearly billing gives two months free. Every feature is on every plan. For API captures, only clean shots are billed; bot checks/CAPTCHAs, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits cost nothing, and response headers report the page verdict and billing status.

FAQ

Can I select English and Hindi together?

You can select multiple result languages, but Google treats them as one combined selection. Run separate captures to compare each language independently.

Does a Hindi query guarantee Hindi pages?

No. Query language is one signal Google considers. Use the explicit result-language filter when you need a targeted comparison.

Should I compare translated queries or identical wording?

Use identical wording to focus on the filter’s effect. Use translated or transliterated wording to study language-specific searches, and record that the query also changed.

Can one screenshot prove where a site ranks?

It documents what appeared in one search context at one time. It cannot establish a stable or universal ranking.
