How to Save a Screenshot of a Logged-In Page on an Indian Insurance Website
Capture a signed-in insurance page on Android or iPhone, save a full-page view or PDF, and protect the personal details in your screenshot.
To save a screenshot of a logged-in page on an Indian insurance website, sign in, open the page you need, and use your phone’s screenshot controls. On Android, press Power and Volume Down together. On an iPhone, press Side and Volume Up on Face ID models, or Side and Home on models with a Home button. For a page longer than the screen, use Android’s scrolling capture or Safari’s Full Page option where available.
A screenshot records what is displayed; it is not necessarily an official copy of your policy. If you need the policy document itself, first check the insurer’s download or e-policy option. The exact menus and whether capture is allowed depend on your device, browser, and the insurer’s portal.
Choose the right kind of record
| What you need | Try this | Typical result |
|---|---|---|
| Only the visible screen | Use the phone’s screenshot shortcut | An image of the current display |
| More of a long webpage | Use scrolling capture or a browser full-page option | A longer image, or a PDF in Safari |
| The actual policy document | Look for the insurer’s download/e-policy option; check repository or DigiLocker availability | The policy document or electronic policy record |
Choose the smallest record that meets the purpose. If a recipient asks for a particular format, follow the insurer’s or recipient’s instructions instead of assuming a screenshot is acceptable.
Take a screenshot on Android
- Sign in to the insurer’s website and open the specific page you want to keep.
- Check that the relevant details are visible and unrelated sensitive information is not on screen.
- Press Power + Volume Down at the same time. Some phones show a screenshot control after you hold Power for a few seconds.
- Open the screenshot preview to crop or review it. Find saved captures in Google Photos under Collections → On this device → Screenshots, or in your phone’s Gallery app.
Android’s scrolling screenshot feature is available on Android 12 and later on most screens that allow scrolling. After the initial capture, tap Capture more if it appears, adjust the crop guides, and save. Menus can vary by manufacturer and operating-system version. See Google’s Android screenshot instructions.
Capture a long page in Chrome on Android
- With the logged-in page open in Chrome, tap More → Share → Long screenshot.
- Drag the crop handles to include the part of the page you need.
- Tap Confirm, then save the image or share it through the intended destination.
The option may not appear on every device, page, or Chrome version. If it is missing, use the device’s scrolling screenshot if offered, or capture the visible screen in sections. Chrome Help describes Long screenshot.
Take a screenshot on iPhone
- Open the logged-in page in the insurer’s site or app.
- On an iPhone with Face ID, quickly press and release Side + Volume Up together. On an iPhone with a Home button, quickly press and release Side + Home.
- Tap the screenshot preview to crop or annotate, then save. Screenshots are saved to Photos by default.
Apple documents that Safari can capture a whole webpage: after taking the screenshot, choose Full Page in the screenshot interface. You can save the result to Photos as an image or to Files as a PDF. This option is for supported content such as a webpage in Safari; do not assume it is available in every app or browser. See Apple’s iPhone screenshot instructions.
Keep the policy document, not just a screen image
If your goal is to retain your insurance policy, check the insurer’s site for a policy download or electronic policy option. IRDAI describes the Insurance Repository system as a way for policyholders to keep policies electronically and access policy details through an online portal; its FAQ also describes online access through an e-Insurance Account. Availability depends on the policy and service. See IRDAI’s Insurance Repositories information and IRDAI’s FAQ.
A Government of India Press Information Bureau release dated 12 February 2021 reported that an IRDAI circular advised insurers to enable their IT systems to interact with DigiLocker so policyholders could preserve policy documents there. That report establishes the advice at that time; it does not confirm that every insurer or policy is currently available through DigiLocker. Check availability with the insurer or service. See the Press Information Bureau release.
Protect sensitive information before sharing
A signed-in insurance page may contain your name, policy number, address, claim information, or other personal details. Before sending a capture:
- Review the saved image or PDF at full size.
- Crop or redact details that the recipient does not need, while keeping any required evidence readable.
- Use the submission channel and file format specified by the insurer or recipient.
- Store and share the file only where it is needed.
Do not treat a privacy statement on one organization’s site as a description of another insurer’s practices. For example, IRDAI’s website policy describes IRDAI’s own site, not every insurer’s portal.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Likely cause | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| The button shortcut does not work | Timing or hardware controls differ by phone model | On Android, try holding Power and selecting Screenshot, or check the phone manufacturer’s instructions. On iPhone, press and release the listed buttons together. |
| There is no scrolling or full-page option | The screen, browser, app, or OS does not offer that capture mode | Try Chrome Long screenshot or Android Capture more where available. In Safari on iPhone, check for Full Page in the screenshot preview. Otherwise capture the relevant visible sections separately. |
| Chrome blocks the screenshot in Incognito | Chrome on Android blocks screenshots in Incognito mode | Open the page in a regular tab after signing in, if permitted. See Chrome Help. |
| The portal or managed phone blocks capture | The insurer’s portal or a device policy may restrict screenshots | Ask the insurer or device administrator for an approved way to provide the information. Do not bypass a capture restriction. |
| The saved image cuts off important content or is hard to read | The page was longer than the captured area, or the crop is too small | Use scrolling capture or Full Page where supported, adjust the crop, and inspect the saved file before submitting. If the recipient needs a document, download the policy instead. |
| The recipient rejects the screenshot | The recipient requires a specific document or file format | Check the submission instructions and provide the insurer-issued document or requested format. |
Or skip the browser setup
If you are capturing a public page for documentation or development, ScreenshotNeo is a website screenshot API and MCP server. A logged-in insurance page is private: do not send credentials, session cookies, or sensitive policy information to a screenshot service unless you have confirmed that it is appropriate and authorized for your use.
For a page you are authorized to capture, this one-call request returns an image. See the ScreenshotNeo API documentation for options.
curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com -o shot.webp
import requests
r = requests.get("https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot", params={"access_key": "YOUR_API_KEY", "url": "https://stripe.com"}, timeout=90)
open("shot.webp", "wb").write(r.content)
const q = new URLSearchParams({ access_key: 'YOUR_API_KEY', url: 'https://stripe.com' });
const res = await fetch(`https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot?${q}`);
ScreenshotNeo removes cookie banners, popups, and chat widgets before the shot. Bot checks, blank pages, and failed loads are never billed. Its MCP server lets AI agents take screenshots. The free plan includes 1,000 screenshots a month with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000. Sign up for free.
FAQ
Does a screenshot count as proof of my policy?
It is an image of the page at capture time. Whether it is accepted as evidence depends on the insurer or recipient. Use an official policy document when that is requested.
Can I save a full page as a PDF on iPhone?
In Safari, take a screenshot, select Full Page, then save the result to Files as a PDF when that option is offered.
Can I take a screenshot of every logged-in insurance page?
No. Browser, device, portal, or organization policies can limit capture. Ask the insurer or administrator for an approved alternative when capture is blocked.
