How to screenshot a product page after choosing a delivery postcode

Choose a postcode or pickup location, confirm the page updates, then capture and check the image. This guide covers reliable browser, API, and sharing workflows.

To screenshot a product page for a particular delivery postcode, open the product, choose the postcode, town, or pickup store in the retailer’s availability control, wait for the delivery or stock details to update, and verify the selected location is visible. Then capture the page and inspect the saved file. The image records what the page showed at that moment; it does not guarantee that stock, price, or delivery options will stay the same.

1. Select the postcode or pickup location

  1. Open the exact product page you want to save.
  2. Find the retailer’s delivery, availability, postcode, town, or pickup control. The control may appear on the product page or in a trolley or basket.
  3. Enter the postcode or town, or choose the pickup store. If the site offers separate delivery and collection modes, select the one relevant to your record.
  4. Wait for the page to finish updating. Check that the location, delivery estimate, local stock, or pickup availability corresponds to your selection.
  5. If the page offers a location confirmation or “check another store” option, use it to verify the chosen context before capturing.

Retailer behavior varies. Argos says shoppers can enter a town or postcode on a product page or in the trolley to check local stock and home delivery; signed-in shoppers may have a last store remembered. Apple UK product pages can reflect a selected pickup location, and shoppers can check another store using a postcode or city. If a page appears to show an old location, look for a saved-store setting or change-location control and confirm the displayed selection again.

2. Capture the page in your browser

Capture the visible area

Use your browser or operating system’s screenshot command when the product title and location-specific availability fit in the visible window. Before capturing, close or consciously retain cookie banners, postcode dialogs, promotions, sign-in prompts, and chat panels. Make sure they do not cover the details you need.

Capture the full page

If you need the entire product page, use a full-page capture feature in your current browser. Browser menus and labels change, so check the current browser’s own help for the exact command. Browser options commonly include a full-page screenshot command or a developer-tools capture; some browsers can save a whole-page PDF. A PDF is useful when pagination or a document-like record matters, while an image is simpler to share or attach.

  1. After selecting the location, scroll through the page so lazy-loaded images, product tiles, and details have a chance to load.
  2. Return to the top and start the browser’s full-page capture or whole-page PDF workflow.
  3. Save the file with a useful name, such as product-postcode-2026-10-04.png. Include the location in the name only if it is appropriate to share.
  4. Open the saved file and inspect the top, middle, and bottom. Check for blank sections, clipped or repeated sticky headers, hidden availability details, or overlays.

For a record that others can interpret later, note the product URL, capture date and time, browser, chosen postcode or store, and whether you checked delivery or collection. Keep personal account information out of screenshots intended for sharing.

3. Check what the screenshot proves

  • Location context: the selected postcode, town, or store is shown or recorded alongside the image.
  • Page state: the delivery estimate or local availability has finished updating.
  • Capture completeness: the saved file includes the relevant section and has no blank lazy-loaded content or obstructing overlay.
  • Privacy: account details, saved addresses, and personal information are not unintentionally exposed.
  • Time context: the capture date and time are available if the image is being used as a record.

A selected postcode is a way to inspect local product information. It is different from changing the delivery address on an existing order. Order changes can depend on order status and timing, and may affect delivery estimates, speed, or taxes. Use the retailer’s order-management flow for an actual order change.

4. Capture repeatably with an API

For repeated captures, automation, or a consistent image size, a screenshot API can take the browser setup out of the workflow. The basic pattern is to request the product URL and save the returned image. The retailer may still require its own interaction to select a location; verify that the chosen location is represented in the page state before relying on the result.

cURL

curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" \
  -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY \
  --data-urlencode url=https://example.com/product \
  -o product.png

Python

import requests

response = requests.get(
    "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot",
    params={
        "access_key": "YOUR_API_KEY",
        "url": "https://example.com/product",
        "format": "png",
        "full_page": "true",
    },
    timeout=90,
)
response.raise_for_status()
with open("product.png", "wb") as image:
    image.write(response.content)

Node.js

const q = new URLSearchParams({
  access_key: 'YOUR_API_KEY',
  url: 'https://example.com/product',
  format: 'png',
  full_page: 'true',
});
const res = await fetch(`https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot?${q}`);
if (!res.ok) throw new Error(`Screenshot request failed: ${res.status}`);
const bytes = Buffer.from(await res.arrayBuffer());
await import('node:fs/promises').then(fs => fs.writeFile('product.png', bytes));

These examples capture the page URL provided. They do not themselves choose a postcode: if the site requires a click or other stateful interaction, first determine how that retailer stores the selected location and whether the capture request can reproduce that state. See the ScreenshotNeo API documentation for request parameters and formats.

5. Options for a dependable capture

Need Approach Check
Only the current product details Capture the visible viewport Location and availability are both in frame
All product-page sections Browser full-page capture or API full-page option Lazy-loaded sections appear and fixed elements are not repeated or clipped
Document-style sharing Save or print to PDF Page breaks preserve the relevant product and delivery details
Repeatable batch of URLs Automated capture workflow Each URL has the intended location state and the result is checked

For privacy, avoid including an account page or checkout details unless they are essential. A screenshot is a static record, so include enough context to explain the selected location without exposing unrelated information.

6. Troubleshooting

Problem Likely cause What to do
Availability still shows the previous area The retailer remembered a prior store, or the page did not apply the new selection Use its change-location control, reselect the postcode or store, and wait for the displayed availability to update.
The postcode field is missing The retailer places location selection in another area, such as the trolley, or only exposes pickup selection after opening a link Check the product page, basket or trolley, and pickup-availability controls. Follow the retailer’s flow and verify the resulting page state.
Full-page screenshot has blank images or sections Content loads only after scrolling or after a delay Scroll through the page first, wait for the content, then capture again and inspect the saved image.
Sticky header repeats or covers content The capture method handles fixed-position elements differently from a normal viewport Try the browser’s other full-page method or capture the relevant section in the viewport. Inspect the complete output.
A popup obscures the location or price A cookie prompt, promotion, sign-in dialog, or chat widget is open Dismiss it if appropriate, or reposition the page and use a capture method that preserves the needed content without exposing private details.
The image does not establish which location was selected The retailer displays availability but not the postcode or store on the captured portion Include the location control or confirmation in the capture, or record the location and capture time alongside the image.
The screenshot seems to contradict the current stock Availability is local and can change after the capture Treat the image as a dated snapshot of the displayed state, then refresh the retailer page for current information.

7. Reliability, performance, and cost

For a one-off image, browser capture has little setup and lets you confirm the selected location visually. For repeated captures, automation can save manual steps, but the difficult part is often reproducing the retailer’s location state rather than taking the screenshot. A full-page capture may take longer and can expose more page content, so capture only what the record needs.

Retailer pages can change their controls and availability behavior. Confirm the visible location and inspect each saved result rather than treating a successful image file as proof that the intended state was captured. A screenshot preserves a moment; it is not a live stock check or a guarantee of a future delivery date.

Or skip the browser setup

ScreenshotNeo is a website screenshot API and MCP server. A one-call capture looks like this:

curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com -o shot.webp

For a product page, replace the target URL with the product URL and use the options in the ScreenshotNeo documentation as needed. The API does not select a retailer postcode for you, so confirm the correct location state is present before capture. ScreenshotNeo accepts cookie and consent banners like a visitor and removes more than 60 known consent platforms, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before the shot; each step can be turned off. Bot checks, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits cost nothing, and response headers report the page verdict and billing status. Its MCP server lets AI agents use screenshot tools. The free plan includes 1,000 screenshots a month with no card, and paid plans start at $5 for 3,000 shots.

FAQ

Does a screenshot reserve the product or delivery slot?

No. It records the page state at capture time. Check the retailer for current availability or reservation status.

Should I use the delivery postcode or the pickup store?

Choose the context you need to document. Delivery postcode availability and pickup-store availability can be different.

Is a full-page screenshot always better?

No. Use a viewport capture if it clearly shows the product and selected location. Use a full-page image or PDF when details elsewhere on the page matter.
