How to Screenshot a Website in Chrome on Android When the Page Is Zoomed

Adjust Chrome’s site zoom, then take a regular or scrolling screenshot. Here’s how to capture the part of the page you need.

To screenshot a zoomed website in Chrome on Android: open the page, tap More (⋮) > Zoom, adjust the slider, then take a screenshot with your phone’s screenshot controls. To capture beyond the visible screen, use Chrome’s More > Share > Long screenshot, or Android’s Capture more option when it is available.

Chrome’s page zoom changes how the website is displayed; it does not automatically make a normal screenshot include the whole page. Choose a regular screenshot for the visible screen and a scrolling capture for more content.

1. Adjust the website’s zoom in Chrome

  1. Open the website in Chrome on your Android phone or tablet.
  2. Tap More (⋮) > Zoom.
  3. Move the zoom slider until the page shows the detail or layout you want.
  4. Leave the page at that zoom level and take a regular or scrolling screenshot using one of the methods below.

Chrome saves the selected zoom level for that site, so it does not change the zoom of other websites. If you do not see Zoom in the main menu, go to More > Settings > Accessibility and enable Show zoom option in main menu. If the website blocks zooming, enable Force-enable zoom in the same Accessibility settings.

2. Take a regular screenshot of the visible page

With the page at the desired zoom, use your Android device’s screenshot controls. The standard button combination is Power + Volume down at the same time. Some devices also let you hold Power and tap Screenshot. The exact controls can vary by manufacturer; if neither method works, check your phone maker’s instructions.

A regular screenshot captures what is currently visible on screen. If zooming in makes the text or image larger, less of the page may fit in that screenshot. It will not automatically include content below the screen.

3. Capture a longer page

Option A: Chrome Long screenshot

  1. In Chrome, tap More (⋮) > Share > Long screenshot.
  2. Drag the crop handles to include the length of the page you want.
  3. Tap Confirm, then save or share the resulting image.

This route starts from Chrome’s Share menu and lets you choose the capture length with crop handles.

Option B: Android Capture more

  1. Take a screenshot using your device’s screenshot controls.
  2. If the option appears, tap Capture more.
  3. Extend the capture to include additional scrollable content, then follow the on-screen controls to save it.

Google documents Capture more for Android 12 and later, on most screens that allow scrolling. It may not appear on every device or page. If it is missing, try Chrome’s Long screenshot option instead.

4. Choose the right capture method

Method Where to start Best for Availability notes
Regular screenshot Android screenshot controls The visible portion of the page at the current zoom Power + Volume down is the common shortcut; device controls vary.
Chrome Long screenshot Chrome More > Share > Long screenshot Selecting a longer area of a page in Chrome Drag the crop handles and tap Confirm.
Android Capture more Take a screenshot, then tap Capture more Extending a screenshot across scrollable content Android 12+; works on most, not all, scrollable screens.

For an exact view of the zoomed screen, use a regular screenshot. For additional content below the fold, try Chrome Long screenshot or Capture more. The option that appears depends on Chrome, Android, the device manufacturer, and the page.

5. Troubleshoot common problems

Problem Likely cause What to do
There is no Zoom option in Chrome’s menu. The main-menu shortcut is hidden in Accessibility settings. Open More > Settings > Accessibility and turn on Show zoom option in main menu.
The website will not zoom. The site may prevent pinch zoom. In Chrome’s Settings > Accessibility, turn on Force-enable zoom, then try again.
Capture more does not appear. The device or screen may not support scrolling capture there. The option is documented for Android 12+ on most scrollable screens, not every screen. Use Chrome’s More > Share > Long screenshot if available, or take multiple regular screenshots.
The screenshot only shows part of the page. A regular screenshot captures the visible screen, and zooming in can reduce how much content fits. Use a scrolling capture option, or adjust the zoom and take another regular screenshot.
Power + Volume down does not work. Screenshot controls can differ by phone manufacturer. Try holding Power and tapping Screenshot, or follow your phone manufacturer’s instructions.
The saved long screenshot cuts off content. The selected crop length may not cover the desired area. Repeat the capture and extend the crop handles before tapping Confirm.

6. Capture a website from code instead

If you need repeatable screenshots for documentation, monitoring, or a workflow, a website screenshot API can capture a URL without using Chrome’s Android menus. ScreenshotNeo is a website screenshot API and MCP server. Its endpoint can return a PNG, JPEG, WebP, or PDF; see the ScreenshotNeo API documentation for request options.

curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" \
  -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY \
  --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com \
  -o shot.webp
import requests

r = requests.get(
    "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot",
    params={"access_key": "YOUR_API_KEY", "url": "https://stripe.com"},
    timeout=90,
)
open("shot.webp", "wb").write(r.content)
const q = new URLSearchParams({
  access_key: 'YOUR_API_KEY',
  url: 'https://stripe.com'
});
const res = await fetch(`https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot?${q}`);

Or skip the browser setup

Use the API call above with the page URL you want to capture. ScreenshotNeo can remove cookie and consent banners, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before capture. Bot checks, blank pages, failed loads, timeouts, and cache hits are not billed, and response headers report the page verdict and billing status. Its MCP server provides screenshot tools for Claude, Cursor, and other MCP clients. The free plan includes 1,000 screenshots a month with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000 screenshots.
