How to Take a Full-Page Screenshot of a Web Page in Edge on a Mac in India

Capture an entire webpage in Microsoft Edge on a Mac, including content below the fold. Follow the menu steps, save or copy the result, and fix common issues.

To capture an entire webpage in Microsoft Edge on a Mac, open the page, select Settings and more (···) → Screenshot → Capture full page, then review the result and copy or save it. This captures content below the visible screen; macOS screen shortcuts capture the screen area instead of the whole scrollable webpage.

Take a full-page screenshot in Edge on a Mac

  1. Open the webpage in Microsoft Edge.
  2. Open the Settings and more menu using the three-dot button near the top-right of the browser.
  3. Select Screenshot.
  4. Choose Capture full page. Edge captures the webpage beyond the currently visible area without requiring you to scroll through it manually.
  5. Review the capture in the overlay. Add markup if needed, then choose the option to copy it or save it to files.

You can also right-click the webpage and look for Screenshot. The wording and availability can vary with the Edge version and market. Microsoft says the feature can capture a full page or selected area, and lets you mark up, copy, or save the result. It may preserve moving content such as a GIF or carousel at the frame shown during capture. Microsoft notes that availability and functionality may vary by device, market, and browser version.

Choose full page or selected area

Option Use it for
Capture full page The complete scrollable webpage, including content below the fold.
Capture area A specific visible portion of a page when you do not need the entire document.

Use full-page capture for a complete reference, article, or page review. Use area capture when only a chart, paragraph, or other visible region matters.

Edge Screenshot versus Mac screenshot shortcuts

macOS shortcuts are for screen captures: Shift-Command-3 captures the screen, and Shift-Command-4 lets you select a screen region. They do not invoke Edge’s full-page webpage capture. For a long webpage, use Edge’s Capture full page command. Apple’s screenshot guide describes those Mac screen-capture shortcuts.

Microsoft’s Edge feature page advertises Ctrl+Shift+S, but Microsoft’s separate Mac keyboard-shortcut reference does not list Screenshot or Web Capture. Treat that shortcut as version-dependent on Mac; use the menu path if it does not work. See Microsoft’s Edge keyboard-shortcut list.

If Screenshot is missing

  1. Check the three-dot Settings and more menu.
  2. Right-click the webpage and check for Screenshot there.
  3. Check whether Edge is up to date, then reopen the menu. Feature availability and menu behavior can vary by browser version and market.
  4. If this is a work- or school-managed Mac and the item is absent, ask the administrator whether the browser feature is managed. Microsoft’s policy documentation identifies Screenshot as the feature formerly called Web Capture and lists macOS support beginning with Edge 87; administrators can control it by policy.

Do not try to change an organization’s browser policy yourself. Microsoft’s ScreenshotEnabled policy documentation explains the managed setting.

Troubleshooting

Problem Likely cause What to try
Screenshot is not in the three-dot menu The feature is unavailable in that browser version or market, or a managed-device policy controls it. Check the page’s right-click menu, update Edge, and contact the administrator if the Mac is managed.
Ctrl+Shift+S does nothing The shortcut is not listed in Microsoft’s Mac shortcut reference and may vary by version. Open Settings and more → Screenshot instead.
The capture shows only the visible screen The selected command may have been an area capture rather than a full-page capture. Start again and explicitly choose Capture full page.
The saved result does not include a page element as expected Some page content may load dynamically or change during capture; behavior can vary by page and browser version. Wait for the page to finish loading, then capture again. For content that updates over time, note that a moving element may appear at the frame visible during capture.
You cannot find the saved image The save action may have used a different location or the copy action may have been chosen. Use the save option in the capture overlay and check the destination shown by macOS. If you copied the capture, paste it into an image editor or document.

Or skip the browser setup

ScreenshotNeo is a website screenshot API and MCP server. A single GET request can return an image or PDF. For a full-page image, use its API; see the ScreenshotNeo API documentation.

curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com -o shot.webp
import requests

r = requests.get(
    "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot",
    params={"access_key": "YOUR_API_KEY", "url": "https://stripe.com"},
    timeout=90,
)
open("shot.webp", "wb").write(r.content)
const q = new URLSearchParams({ access_key: 'YOUR_API_KEY', url: 'https://stripe.com' });
const res = await fetch(`https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot?${q}`);
if (!res.ok) throw new Error(`Screenshot request failed: ${res.status}`);
await Bun.write('shot.webp', res);

Replace the example URL with the page to capture and supply your API key. ScreenshotNeo removes cookie banners, popups, and chat widgets before the shot; bot checks, blank pages, and failed loads are never billed. Its MCP server lets AI agents take screenshots. The free plan includes 1,000 screenshots a month with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000. Sign up for 1,000 free screenshots a month, with no card required.

Performance and reliability notes

For a one-off capture, Edge’s built-in tool avoids setting up an API client. The page must still be available and loaded in the browser, and results can vary with dynamic content and feature availability. For repeatable captures in a script or AI workflow, an API can avoid manual menu steps; ScreenshotNeo’s response includes page-verdict and billing headers, and cache hits cost nothing. Avoid assuming a capture is complete if the target page itself has not finished loading.

Frequently asked questions

Does full-page capture include content below the fold?

Yes. Choose Capture full page to capture the scrollable webpage beyond the visible area.

Can I annotate the screenshot?

Edge’s capture overlay offers markup before you copy or save the result.

Does the same menu work on every Mac?

Microsoft cautions that feature availability and functionality can vary by device, market, and browser version. Check both the browser menu and page context menu.

Do I need an API to take a single screenshot?

No. Edge’s built-in Screenshot command is enough for a manual full-page capture. An API is useful when captures need to run from code or an AI agent.
