How to Take a Full-Page Screenshot of a Tamil Website in Firefox

Capture an entire Tamil webpage in Firefox with its built-in screenshot tool, or use Developer Tools when you need more control.

To capture a full Tamil webpage in Firefox, open the page, choose Take Screenshot from the right-click menu (or use Ctrl+Shift+S on Windows/Linux, Command+Shift+S on macOS), select Save full page, then choose Download or Copy. Firefox captures the page as it renders; there is no separate Tamil screenshot mode.

Use Firefox’s built-in screenshot tool

  1. Open the Tamil website in Firefox and wait until the content you want appears. Scroll if needed to check that the page has loaded.
  2. Right-click an empty area of the webpage and select Take Screenshot. On macOS, Control-click is another way to open the context menu. You can also use Ctrl+Shift+S on Windows or Linux, or Command+Shift+S on macOS.
  3. In the screenshot controls, choose Save full page. Choose Save visible only if you want the portion currently on screen.
  4. Choose Download to save an image to Firefox’s default download location, or Copy to put it on the clipboard and paste it into another application.

Mozilla describes this feature as capturing visible parts of a web page or even full pages, with options to copy or save the image. See Mozilla’s screenshot instructions.

What to expect with Tamil text

The screenshot records what Firefox displays. The documented capture workflow does not call for a Tamil-specific setting, keyboard, or font. If Tamil characters look incorrect or missing in the page before you capture it, treat that as a page display or font-rendering issue first: a screenshot saves the rendered appearance; it does not translate or repair the page. This is an inference from Mozilla’s general instructions, not a guarantee about every Tamil site.

For a useful record, inspect the page before saving. Confirm that the script appears as intended, that the parts of the page you need have loaded, and that the screenshot preview includes the full content. Long or dynamically loaded pages can require extra time to render, so a capture may reflect the state of the page at that moment.

Developer Tools fallback

If the regular screenshot interface is unavailable or you need command options, Firefox Developer Tools offer another documented route.

  1. Open Developer Tools and go to Settings.
  2. Under Available Toolbox Buttons, enable Take a screenshot of the entire page.
  3. Use the screenshot control that appears in the toolbox to capture the whole page.

You can also enter :screenshot --fullpage in the Web Console. Firefox documents optional delay, filename, and device-pixel-ratio parameters for this command. Consult the Firefox Developer Tools screenshot documentation for its current command syntax and options.

Common problems and fixes

Problem What to check
The screenshot only contains the visible viewport Choose Save full page, not Save visible. In Developer Tools, use the entire-page control or the --fullpage command option.
“Take Screenshot” does not appear in the context menu Try the keyboard shortcut for your operating system. If you need the Developer Tools method, enable its screenshot button under Settings → Available Toolbox Buttons.
Tamil characters look wrong in the image Check whether they already look wrong in the webpage before capture. The screenshot records Firefox’s rendering and does not correct text or install a font.
Part of the page is blank or missing Wait for the desired content to appear before capturing. If the page loads content as you scroll, inspect it first and retry after the relevant content is present.
You cannot find the downloaded file Check Firefox’s default download location. Use Copy instead if your next step is pasting the image into another application.

Or skip the browser setup

If you need a capture from code or want to avoid setting up browser tooling, ScreenshotNeo is a website screenshot API and MCP server. One GET request returns an image or PDF. Use the API docs for the available parameters and formats: ScreenshotNeo documentation.

curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com -o shot.webp
import requests

r = requests.get(
    "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot",
    params={"access_key": "YOUR_API_KEY", "url": "https://stripe.com"},
    timeout=90,
)
open("shot.webp", "wb").write(r.content)
const q = new URLSearchParams({ access_key: 'YOUR_API_KEY', url: 'https://stripe.com' });
const res = await fetch(`https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot?${q}`);
if (!res.ok) throw new Error(`Screenshot request failed: ${res.status}`);
await Bun.write('shot.webp', res);

Replace the example URL with the Tamil page URL and supply your API key. ScreenshotNeo removes cookie banners, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before capture; bot checks, blank pages, and failed loads are never billed. Its MCP server lets AI agents take screenshots. The free plan includes 1,000 screenshots a month with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000. Sign up for 1,000 free screenshots a month, no card required.

FAQ

Does Firefox need a Tamil language setting to take the screenshot?

No Tamil-specific capture setting is described in Mozilla’s instructions. The capture reflects how Firefox renders the page.

Can I copy the full-page image without downloading it?

Yes. Choose Copy in the screenshot controls, then paste into the application where you need the image.

Which method should I use for an ordinary capture?

Use the built-in screenshot controls and select Save full page. Use Developer Tools when the regular interface is unavailable or you need its command options.
